01:27During the session, Deputy Jorge Arreaza expressed the need to reach an understanding among political adversaries in order to overcome polarization and recalled to create what he called a 21st century treaty of Trujillo in reference to the agreement signed between Simón Bolívar and colonial Spain to end what was known as the war to death policy.
01:50Acting president, Delsi Rodríguez celebrated the approval in first discussion of the amnesty law in the National Assembly.
02:03During an event to adapt to the peace quadrants in the states of Bolívar, Delsi Rodríguez emphasized that differences must be overcome through harmonious relationships and democratic coexistence.
02:16In the sense, she underlined that the forces of transformation and the Bolivarian revolution have once again extended their hand for democratic coexistence.

02:43I want to thank the National Assembly to date has happened a very important event for Venezuela and has been approved unanimously by all of the political forces that do life in the Venezuelan parliament, the first discussion of the law of amnesty, which is a law for peace and for the national reconciliation.
03:13We must overcome our differences through harmonious relationships and of democratic coexistence.
03:26On Thursday, the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, made statements to the national and international press regarding the complex situation facing the country in the context of the escalation of coercive measures imposed unilaterally by the United States.
03:41government against the island.
03:45In this sense, the Cuban president reaffirmed his rejection of threats and actions that seeks to undermine the nation's sovereignty.
03:53In this scenario, Díaz-Canel stated that the Cuban government is open to dialogue with the United States as long as it is based on respect for self-determination and independence.
04:04In addition, Cuba rejected the US blockade and reaffirms its right to receive fuel in the context of acute shortages.
04:12The head of states assured the Cuban people that measures are being taken to address the complex energy situation and that efforts are being made to minimize the impact on the population.
04:23The president also expressed his gratitude for the showings of solidarity from around the world, which have rejected US interference in the island's internal affairs.
04:38In this scenario, also on Thursday, Cuba's deputy minister of foreign affairs, Carlos Fernández de Cosillo, questioned the policies of the United States government after it announced it would send alleged humanitarian aid to the island.
04:53In a statement on his social media accounts, the diplomats say, with proverbial hypocrisy, the United States government promises to send a few beans, rice and cans to a group of Cubans in the eastern provinces and includes rechargeable lamps, while subjecting the entire country to a ruthless economic war that includes the deprivation of fuel.
05:15In this regard, Fernández de Cosillo stated, if their representatives were honest, they would mention the clean and effective drug record of the Cuban authorities in the distribution of foreign humanitarian aid, which has been confirmed by the United Nations Agency and the many governments that have provided honest and ethical aid for decades.

06:36The Paraguayan Congress advanced on Thursday with the reform of the public sector pension law promoted by President Santiago Peña, despite strong opposition from workers.
06:52While various unions gathered around the legislative headquarters to protest the Bill 41 parliamentarians, almost all from the ruling Colorado Party voted in favor.
07:04The reform, which sets a minimum requirement age of 57, requires at least 50 years of contributions and shifts the fiscal fund adjustment burden onto workers, now moves to the Senate to continue its process while unions announce further actions.
07:21We are requesting that this not affect active teachers, any type of change should be optional for them, and the state should contribute what is up to repeat.
07:38Today, we will be waiting to see what happens in the Chamber of Deputies, and based on that we will make a decision.
07:45Today, we asked whether or not to start classes in case they go ahead with the changes, and the students unanimously said that they will not start classes on February 23rd.

08:10We'll be right back, stay with us.
08:12Welcome back to From the South. We continue with more information. In Colombia, Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio stated that there are ongoing talks with Ecuador to address this issue.
08:32The commercial and political dispute between the two nations. According to the foreign minister, there has already been an exchange of proposals, which are progressing pending a meeting that could take place next week.
08:54The tensions began when the Ecuadorian government unilaterally imposed 30% tariffs on Colombian imports. In response to Quito's decision, Colombia did the same with 20 Ecuadorian products and suspended energy sales.
09:09However, in recent hours, the head of Colombia's foreign policy stated in an interview with the Colombia media outlet that the de-escalation of tensions has begun.
09:19Colombian president Gustavo Petro concluded his visit to the United States on Thursday with a speech at Georgetown University in Washington, where he proposed radical reforms to the international order.
09:37The Colombian head of state discussed a wide range of topics, including the current global climate crisis.
09:43Referring to these emergencies, President Petro asserted that the world demands a radical change in the structures of power.
09:50In his speech, which closed an agenda marked by the meeting with President Donald Trump, he also criticized the United Nations and other multilateral organizations and reaffirmed the importance of restoring the ideals of Simón Bolívar en Gran Colombia.
10:06If you look at history and therefore the responsibility of dealing with issues that can trigger peace or violence, it is much more delicate when it comes to Colombia, and there are people who do not know Colombia or its history.
10:28They can be very irresponsible when making decisions without knowledge of knowledge of Colombia.
10:35I think we have returned to a state of calm, but it will not be permanent.
10:40We must look at the positive aspects of what has been achieved.
10:45No doubts, if you look at the history of the former Gran Colombia, the great dream of articulating political economies, societies and cultures.
11:00Our space, which was part of Gran Colombia, remains absolutely important today.
11:06Today, it is fundamental, I would say.
11:09Experts and activists from the United States and around the world call for independent investigations led by civil society to ensure real justice in the Epstein case.
11:24The reactions come after the release of the latest files, which consist of more than 3 million pages, nearly 2,000 videos and 180,000 photographs, revealing the magnitude of a child sex trafficking network.
11:39The name of the President of the U.S., Donald Trump, appears about 3,000 times, in some cases in connection with very serious acts recorded in FBI files.
11:49However, he and his colleagues continue to dismiss the seriousness of these acts and attempt to remain unpunished.
11:56In this scenario, United States groups assert that the Epstein case has exposed the systemic corruption of the White House and the international burguese.
12:05Communities along Panama's Pacific Coast are living on the edge due to powerful waves.
12:30Since 2009, they have lost at least 15 homes.
12:34Rising sea levels are being worsened by human activity, while residents are calling on the state for a plan that the government has yet to put in place.
12:43Our colleague, Rekha Chandriramani, has more.
12:46Rising sea levels are threatening the community of Puerto Camito, the hometown of famous New York Yankees baseball player Mariano Rivera, as well as San Jose and Punta Chame, located along Panama's Pacific Coast.
13:01The sea has eaten away a lot, and it's no longer like it used to be. Before, you could see the tide far away, yes, it was far but not anymore. Now you come and it practically reaches your house. And that's traumatizing. Traumatizing in the sense that you're constantly anxious, thinking the tide is coming and will reach the house. The problem is that it almost always happens at night.
13:28The coastal area is very dangerous to live in now because all coastal zones are at risk. One of these days, the sea could become even fiercer than it already is and sweep away everything.
13:43Olga lost her home in 2009. She was the first victim of this wave in San Jose. She says that the impacts of climate change are being worsened by human actions.
13:58Mangrove deforestation and sun extraction are also factors that contribute to climate change, causing the sea to rise a little closer to where our homes are.
14:12The sea has swept away at least 15 homes. Residents along Panama's Pacific Coast live in fear of losing their homes, unable to relocate on their own due to beach gentrification and government inaction.
14:28At a moment of a strong wave that hit the community. She saw how the sea took her house away.
14:35She told us how it carried away not only her home, but also all the memories she had inside it.
14:43It is necessary to have policies now to support these populations because these are very impoverished communities.
14:58They are communities of people who have dedicated their entire lives to fishing, and today, fishing resources are depleted.
15:07What these communities are facing today will extend along more than 1,700 kilometers of Panama Pacific Coast.
15:19According to the Ministry of Environment, Panama could lose more than 2% of its territory due to coastal erosion.
15:26An urgent problem that threatens the country's ecological and social balance.

15:55Welcome back to From the South. Talk between Iran and the United States begin in Muscat, Oman's capital.
16:21Amid high geopolitical tension worsened by Washington's threats against Tehran.
16:26The talks are taking place between Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi, who is leading a three-member Iranian delegation,
16:33and Steve Witkoff, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, accompanied by Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law.
16:41The meeting was made possible thanks to mediation by the government of Oman,
16:46which is also hosting these first bilateral talks since June of last year.
16:50In this context, several Arab countries convened by Qatar agreed to guarantee the summit in an effort to contain a regional conflict
16:59and allow differences over the nuclear program regional and global security to be addressed throughout diplomatic means.
17:05The possible diplomatic approach is taking place against a backdrop of growing tensions in Western Asia, marked by the recent deployment of U.S. naval forces in the region,
17:24and by President Donald Trump's repeated threats to attack the Persian country if it does not agree to negotiate a new nuclear agreement.
17:33In this regard, Tehran has warned that any aggression will be made a firm response.
17:39For his part, Iranian President Massoud Beseskihan has made it clear that any dialogue must take place in a climate of mutual respect,
17:47without pressure or threats, and in defense of the national interest.
17:51This meeting will be the first direct contact between Tehran and Washington since the breakdown of negotiations in June last year,
18:00following the start of the war prompted by Israel against Iran, in which the United States participated.
18:10We're going out to the Middle East in the last 24 hours, at least 27 Palestinians were killed and 18 wounded by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.
18:30The Ministry of Health reported a new escalation of aggression in civilian areas in the north and east of the Palestinian enclave by the Israeli regime.
18:48During the attacks, the occupation army demolished buildings in the Havaliyah camp north of Gaza where UNRWA schools were located.
18:55The Health Authority estimated at least 71,128 dead and more than 171,620 injured, while others are still under the rubble,
19:09and the humanitarian situations continue to deteriorate significantly in light of the Israeli escalation.
19:16In this context, the Gaza media office has reported that the Israeli genocide has violated the ceasefire agreement more than 1,500 times and killed more than 500 Palestinians.
19:44According to the government agency, Israel has violated 1,520 times the agreement reached on October 10, 2025.
19:55These attacks have caused the dead of 556 Palestinians, of whom 2,088 were children, women and elderly people.
20:04The trust has also been exploited by the genocide forces to demolish 221 homes and buildings and carry out 73 incursions by military vehicles in residential areas.
20:16The casería office has also reported that of 69,000 trucks that were supposed to enter as agreed with the United States and several Western governments,
20:28only 20,603 managed to gain access.
20:34The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, affirmed that his country supports the establishment of peace in the Gaza Strip and called for Israel's commitment to the international approved peace plan.
20:52The Ministry of Defense of Turkey joined the call and condemned the Israeli attacks on January 21, which violated the ceasefire in effect since October 2025.
21:03Ankara recalled that the plan was backed by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, which establishes a cessation of hostilities and the entry of humanitarian aid.
21:15According to Palestinian figures, Israel's violations of the agreement have caused the death of more than 550 people and injured about 1,500 people, most of them women and children.
21:37The Chinese government unanimously declared the suspension of new investments in Palestinian territories occupied by the Israeli Zionist regime.
21:46The decision communicated by the Valid Vision Investment Fund added that the action in Beijing affects the Hanita lands factory located in the Hanita kibbutz north of the occupation.
21:59The Chinese funds own 80% of the shares, so the settlers have filled a lawsuit for not exercising the purchase option.
22:08The funds point out that following the start of Israel's genocidal campaign, the location became a high-risk area and the factory which manufactures ophthalmological medical products presents an invasive settlement on legitimate Palestinian territory.
