Nvidia plans to spend about $150 billion annually in Taiwan as Jensen Huang expands its AI supply chain and prepares a new Taiwan headquarters.

00:02NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced plans to invest $150 billion annually in Taiwan,
00:08up from $10 to $15 billion four to five years ago, and the current rate of $100 billion,
00:15according to Reuters. Huang made the announcement at a launch celebration in Taipei for NVIDIA's
00:21planned Taiwan headquarters, which will break ground this year and aims to be operational in
00:262030. He called Taiwan the epicenter of the AI revolution and said NVIDIA plans to employ
00:324,000 people at the new site. The headquarters will strengthen NVIDIA's ties with TSMC,
00:38Foxconn, Wistron, and Quanta Computer. Taiwan anchors the global AI supply chain for major companies,
00:45including NVIDIA and Apple, with TSMC at the foundation of that role.
00:50Advanced Micro Devices said last week it would invest more than $10 billion in Taiwan's AI sector.
