00:00The global AI ecosystem is converging in Taipei this week with both NVIDIA's GTC and Computex
00:07underway.
00:08Today, tech leaders packed the venue to hear CEO Jensen Huang's highly anticipated keynote
00:13address where he laid out the future of AI.
00:17This is as NVIDIA continues to expand in Taiwan, showing just how much the American company
00:23continues to rely on Taiwanese firms to produce its products.
00:27One of the biggest themes this year was what Huang calls AI factories.
00:31These are massive data centers built specifically to train and run AI models.
00:36Huang says demand for those systems is growing rapidly as companies race to deploy AI services.
00:43Huang used that message to introduce the next generation of NVIDIA technology.
00:47Vera Rubin is in full production.
00:53The supply chain we created for Vera Rubin is twice as large as Grace Blackwell.
01:01And what used to take two hours to double one Grace Blackwell rack now only takes five minutes.
01:09So not only is the capacity higher, the throughput is a lot faster.
01:14The Vera Rubin AI platform succeeds the Blackwell.
01:19Huang says Rubin is designed to improve energy efficiency, one of the industry's biggest challenges as AI workloads expand.
01:26Later, perhaps the most anticipated announcement was NVIDIA's move into the PC market.
01:33The company, together with Microsoft, unveiled the RTX Spark Superchip designed for Windows laptops.
01:41RTX Spark is a reinvention of laptop.
01:45But in fact, Microsoft NVIDIA is reinventing all of PC.
01:51This allows NVIDIA to move beyond supplying GPUs, or graphics processors, and into the CPU, or central processor, market as
02:00well.
02:01This is a massive move to challenge Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm in laptops, ushering in a new era of AI
02:08PCs.
02:10Taiwan's benchmark index, the TaiX, hit a record high on Monday, driven by gains in AI-related stocks, as confidence
02:17in AI spending remains strong.
02:20Looking ahead, attention now shifts beyond the keynote to any potential business deals announced throughout the week.
02:26I'll be closely monitoring NVIDIA's relationships with major suppliers, including SK Hynix and TSMC, as well as deeper cooperation with
02:34Marvel Technology.
02:36This can provide the clearest signal as to where the AI industry is heading next.
