While on his visit to Taiwan, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang hosted a dinner in Taipei Saturday with the company's main chip suppliers. Attendees were leaders from some of the top tech companies in Taiwan. During the evening, Huang said demand for TSMC chips is growing rapidly and he also confirmed Nvidia will continue its investment in OpenAI.

00:02Greeted by fans and journalists in front of this Taipei restaurant,
00:07NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is causing a stir with his latest visit,
00:11his first time back in Taiwan this year.
00:14He says 2026 is going to be a big year for Taiwan's chipmakers.
00:19TSMC needs to work very hard this year because I need a lot of wafers.
00:23Over the next 10 years, TSMC will likely increase their capacity by much more than 100%.
00:33And so this is a very substantial scale-up in the next decade.
00:42The occasion of the night, a gathering of NVIDIA's top suppliers,
00:46whose combined market capitalization has the evening being billed as the trillion-dollar dinner.
00:51The attendees is a who's who of Taiwan's high-tech industry leaders,
00:56including TSMC CEO C.C. Wei, Quanta Chair Barry Lam,
01:01and Chair of Pegatron Tong Zixian, who briefly took questions upon his arrival.

01:20A mix of leisure and business, Huang says he hosted a dinner to thank his partners and friends in Taiwan.
01:31But he comes out of the restaurant a few times during the night to say hi to fans outside.

01:39When asked about reports suggesting NVIDIA's 100 billion U.S. dollar investment in OpenAI is on the rocks,
01:47Huang had this to say.
01:49That's nonsense.
01:50Nonsense.
01:50Yeah, that's complete nonsense.
01:53We are going to make a huge investment in OpenAI.
01:58Yeah, I believe in OpenAI.
02:00The work that they do is incredible.
02:03They're one of the most consequential companies of our time.
02:05We haven't made the investment in them because they're closing their round.
02:10But we will definitely be involved in their round.
02:15Huang is expected to stay until Monday.
02:18Regarding the construction of NVIDIA's Taipei Headquarter,
02:21the company has yet to confirm if Huang will meet with Mayor Jiang Wanan to discuss details during his visit.
02:28With less than one day to go,
02:30his fans in the country may hope to catch a glimpse of the so-called godfather of AI before his next visit.
