00:00NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says the company will remain committed to Taiwan despite your political pressures.
00:07Speaking at the first press conference for this year's GTC event, Huang stressed how important Taiwan is to NVIDIA's supply
00:15chain.
00:16As the world in the Middle East raged on, Huang says he is also deeply concerned about the safety of
00:21the company's 6,000 employees in Israel.
00:25But he says NVIDIA will continue its long-term development there, and he says the same goes for Taiwan.
00:32I'm 100% convinced and concerned that the world depends on Taiwan for a very, very long time.
00:39We have several thousand employees there. They've been there a very long time.
00:43Our entire supply chain is there. Hundreds of companies that we work with, some of the most important companies in
00:51the world are there.
00:52Huang's remarks can't omit fears that Taiwan's semiconductor industry could be hollowed out.
00:58That's after U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik in January suggested the Trump administration ends to ship up to 40
01:07% of Taiwan's ship production to the United States.
01:10But Huang says such a move would be difficult.
01:12SMC is doing their best to set up fabs in the supply chain, also setting up the supply chain in
01:21Arizona and around the United States.
01:23But as you know, demand is growing so fast.
01:26So meanwhile, while new fabs and new plants are being built in the United States, the overall demand around the
01:34world is increasing so great.
01:36I think getting to 40% will be very challenging.
01:38Taiwan lists production of the world's most advanced chips.
01:42Semiconductor industry leaders and officials have said things will stay that way, even as more Taiwanese firms invest in the
01:51U.S.
01:52Jensen Hong also emphasized NVIDIA's clothes type with Chief Giant TSMC, highlighting how central Taiwanese tech is to innovation in
02:01Silicon Valley and to the world.
