00:00It's the Holy Spirit who ignites the word in people's hearts.
00:03Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot understand.
00:06Without the Holy Spirit, the sermon I preach today may emotionally move you,
00:12but will not spiritually change you.
00:14It is not my job to change you.
00:16It is not my work to change you.
00:18Holy Spirit converts, but we must preach the truth.
00:22Your concern must be to remain committed to that truth
00:27and not dilute it or distort it in an attempt to please man.
00:39My name is Christian, Pastor Christian, Pastor Christian from Ghana.
00:44I want to ask Brother Chris, a man of God,
00:49that what's in the case where, as a pastor,
00:55you preach and you teach your congregation to follow God's word
01:02and also spend time with God's word.
01:07But yet, they are not following what you are teaching them.
01:15What can you do to help them as a man of God?
01:18Because in the message this evening, I heard that
01:24we men of God are to lead the flock,
01:29the children of God, the church, to God.
01:32We must not be a barrier or a standing block between them and God.
01:38That's the message I heard this evening from Brother Chris.
01:41So, I want to ask the man of God,
01:43what can I do to help them?
01:45Because I have done, as God knows my heart, my path.
01:52But yet, I am not seeing the fruits in them.
01:57Thank you for being very open with that question.
02:01So, look, remember, our role as ministers of God
02:08is not to change someone.
02:11It's to direct them to the one who can change them.
02:14The greatest temptation for you
02:16is to dilute your truth
02:19in your attempt to see a visible change.
02:22Oh, I'm teaching this message.
02:25People, I don't seem to be receiving it.
02:26Let me water it down.
02:28Oh, let me focus on this.
02:30Let me change that.
02:31Because I want to see people maybe reacting.
02:34That is the greatest temptation for you
02:36as someone in ministry.
02:38Because we should never measure ministerial success
02:44by external factors.
02:47Our role is to sow seed.
02:49The seed you sow,
02:51you may not know when it grows.
02:54To you, you may look at them and say,
02:56ah, these people are not obeying.
02:58You don't know what is happening in their hearts.
03:00Remember, the hearts of man is very stubborn,
03:04very rebellious.
03:05But the truth has the power to penetrate
03:08even the deepest and darkest place.
03:11Just focus on speaking and preaching the truth in love.
03:16And remember,
03:18your own life is the greatest sermon.
03:22Don't just preach the truth.
03:24Be the truth.
03:24So what must you do as a minister of God?
03:28You must play your part to speak the truth,
03:31to teach the word,
03:33and also recognize the divine responsibility
03:36God has given you,
03:38meaning you must mean what you say
03:41and back up your words with actions.
03:45No one is perfect.
03:46That's why we need the Holy Spirit.
03:48It's the Holy Spirit who makes the word work.
03:51It's the Holy Spirit who ignites the word in people's hearts.
03:55Without the Holy Spirit,
03:56we cannot understand.
03:58Without the Holy Spirit,
03:59the sermon I preach today
04:00may emotionally move you,
04:03but will not spiritually change you.
04:05It is not my job to change you.
04:08It is not my work to change you.
04:10Holy Spirit converts,
04:12but we must preach the truth.
04:14Your concern must be to remain committed to that truth
04:18and not dilute it or distort it
04:21in an attempt to please man.
04:25So thank you for that question, my brother.
04:27Thank you very much.
04:33If you know the value of it,
04:35you will create time for it.
04:37You have to be intentional.
04:39You will not just find the time.
04:42You will not just magically wake up
04:45and find yourself meditating.
04:47You have to be conscious
04:49in creating that time.
