Thailand has imposed a 21-day quarantine on travllers arriving from DR Congo and Uganda, making it the first country to impose mandatory measures to curb the latest ebola outbreak.

00:10The move makes Thailand the first country to introduce such measures in response to the latest Ebola outbreak.
00:19Passengers arriving from the two African countries will undergo health screening
00:23before being transferred to an infectious diseases institute on the outskirts of Bangkok for three weeks of observation.
00:30Those showing possible Ebola symptoms will be isolated for further testing and treatment.
00:36Thailand has so far reported no Ebola cases, and there are currently no direct flights between Bangkok and either Congo
00:44or Uganda.
00:45Several other countries have also introduced entry restrictions targeting travellers from parts of Africa.
00:50Canada has announced a 90-day entry ban on residents from the DRC, Uganda and South Sudan,
00:57while the Bahamas has implemented a 30-day restriction.
01:00Last week, the US also barred non-citizens who had recently travelled to the DRC, Uganda or South Sudan from
01:07entering the country.
