00:06After Vedant raised the issue online, his post crossed 3.2 million views,
00:10quickly snowballing into a major social media controversy.
00:13But as the debate grew, so did the backlash.
00:16Vedant soon became the target of trolling and abusive comments online.
00:19Several users accused him of trying to tarnish the CBSE's image,
00:23while others questioned why his ex-profile location showed South Asia.
00:27Some called him anti-national, while others even labelled him Pakistani.
00:31As the controversy escalated, the CBSE acknowledged the mismatch.
00:35Its Joint Secretary Coordination informed Vedant that the discrepancy had been identified,
00:40and that his marks would be corrected.
00:42Soon after, some of the same users who had trolled him began apologizing.
00:45But how did this happen?
00:51This year, CBSE introduced an on-screen marking OSM system for Class 12
00:56Board evaluations aimed at making assessment faster, more digital, and more transparent after results.
01:01But soon after the results, students began flagging issues, from unclear scans and missing papers,
01:07to answer sheets allegedly being linked to wrong candidates.
01:10And CBSE isn't the only examination system facing scrutiny.
01:13Earlier, the need came under criticism over irregularities and concerns around evaluation and conduct.
01:18More recently, the SSE GD Constable examination also faced disruptions at multiple centres,
01:24due to overgrounding, technical glitches, server failure, loss management and shift cancellations.
01:28Candidates reported being stranded amid poor management and centres in Kanpur, Lucknow and Muzaffarpur.
