00:00Big news coming in on what the Chief Minister has said.
00:02Let's take a look at now from what Home Minister Amit Shah said
00:05to what Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has said.
00:08Here's the big news.
00:09Suvendu's Jaldi Bhago warning to infiltrators.
00:12Run fast.
00:13Chief Minister to the fleeing groups of infiltrators has said,
00:18Jaldi, Jaldi Bhago.
00:19Run fast.
00:20We do not intend to feed infiltrators in prison.
00:23Why waste money feeding the illegals?
00:25Hundreds of, this is as hundreds of infiltrators block the India Park,
00:29India-Bangladesh border.
00:30Now, why this is interesting?
00:32Why is Suvendu Adhikari using such language?
00:34One of the reasons is, remember, that there are these holding centres
00:37that have been announced in different border areas of Bengal
00:40and hundreds of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas are congregating there.
00:45They intend to leave the country.
00:46According to Suvendu Adhikari,
00:48they will not be really kept in any detention centres, prisons.
00:51They will be immediately handed over to the border security force
00:54for which holding centres are being organised.
00:56Here's what the Chief Minister has said.
01:26Detect, Delete, Deport.
01:28That is the policy that has been announced by the new Bengal government
01:32led by the Bharkia Janata Party.
01:34And one of their first decisions has been with regard to the illegal infiltration
01:40that has long been a problem for the state of Bengal.
01:43That's what Suvendu Adhikari has also said.
01:46Days after, the Chief Minister publicly unveiled a tougher anti-infiltration framework
01:50and hundreds of illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingyas have started to gather at the border checkpoint
01:56to return to their home country.
01:58I want to bring in Tapas Sen Gupta for the latest on that.
02:02Tapas, now, one would argue if the statement that has been said by the Chief Minister,
02:07is it a good parliamentary language or not?
02:09Jaldi, jaldi bha go, run fast.
02:11But do you think this will touch a chord with especially people in Bengal
02:15who believe that illegal infiltration has long been a problem,
02:18especially for border areas in Bengal?
02:20And that is being looked at here.
02:22That is going to be sorted.
02:27Well, yes, to some extent, yes,
02:29because people have been reeling under these illegal infiltrators
02:33because I've been talking to a lot of people out here
02:36who were saying that because of these illegal immigrants
02:39who have been also settling in and around this area where we are right now,
02:43there were scarcity of jobs,
02:45there were scarcity of unorganized labors
02:47because the amount they used to receive
02:50were much lower than what the locals used to receive.
02:54So, obviously, they were the first choice for any contractors
02:57or any person whatsoever looking for a group of people.
03:01So, yes, there was a lot of discontentment within the people here in Bengal.
03:06And, yes, what Subhinder Dikari have said today,
03:09he have said the narrative that this is the golden opportunity
03:12for them to go back to their own native land.
03:15That's Bangladesh.
03:15I'll show you, Pooja, people and hundreds are queuing up right now.
03:19They were sitting here throughout the morning
03:21and now the BSF have called them
03:23and they are now queuing up in a line
03:26and they are trying to get their documents verified.
03:29You can see these are the documents that they are holding right now.
03:31These are the documents, Bangladeshi documents,
03:34that they are holding right now,
03:35which needs to be verified.
03:37And once this verification is over from the part of the BSF,
03:40there will be another verification
03:42where their biometrics and fingerprints would be taken
03:45and then all of their credentials would be handed over to the BGB.
03:49Once BGB cross-verifies with their data
03:52and gives a go-ahead,
03:54only those people will be allowed to cross over to the other side of the border.
03:58So, it's a very pretty lengthy process.
04:00And so many people who are queuing up
04:02will definitely not get a chance to cross over the border tonight.
04:06Some of them will go and some of them will have to wait for tomorrow
04:09for their turn.
04:10But most that I spoke to say that they have come here
04:14in search of employment.
04:15Some were employed in Kerala,
04:18some were in Mumbai,
04:20some were employed in Hyderabad.
04:22So, that's the kind of spectrum
04:25that these Bangladeshi illegal immigrants
04:27have went on inside Indian territory.
04:30And that's what has been a major security concern
04:33for the government for so long.
04:35But finally, after the new government came into power,
04:37for the kind of actions that have been taken...
04:40And it's of course, it's part of the manifesto,
04:43it's part of the promises of the BJP
04:45that when it will come in the Bengal government,
04:48this will be one of the big decisions
04:49and they are acting on it.
04:50Listen in again to Chief Minister Suvedu Adhikar.
05:15He's supposed to be one of the big decisions.
