00:05Congratulations on the win today.
00:06Can you talk us through the match in Heitfeld
00:08to face Stan today out there?
00:10Yes, it's never easy in such an ambiance.
00:16It's a different match than playing him wherever
00:20or a couple of years ago.
00:22I don't know how many people there were in the stadium,
00:25but 99% of the people were cheering for him.
00:28It's something that I like, it's weird to say,
00:31but I like this kind of atmosphere and I know I have to shut up
00:37and don't give too many emotions to the crowd.
00:42Yes, stay focused and I did well.
00:46Hey Jesper, congrats on your win.
00:48Thank you.
00:49I'm not sure, but I think it's the first time you enter a main draw
00:52Grand Slam being a lucky loser?
00:55Yes, it could be.
00:56Yeah, yeah.
00:57I wanted to know how you handled the moments
01:00waiting for UL Seeds 1 during the qualies.
01:04You didn't know if you were entering or not.
01:06What did you do? What was your routine?
01:09How was it in your mind before knowing you will enter the draw?
01:12Yeah, it was already before the qualies.
01:17I was one out from Wednesday or Thursday when Musetti pulled out.
01:22So then you're hoping already that you can enter a main draw.
01:27Then I didn't play first-round qualies on Monday at 10 a.m.
01:31And then you have to play tough qualies.
01:33because everyone is very good there.
01:36So it's tough.
01:37So you want to avoid that.
01:38It's three tough matches that you have to play.
01:40And you know there's a five-set tournament coming.
01:45So you don't want to spend too many hours on court.
01:49And then I lost obviously in the last round of qualies being the first seed.
01:54Then there's a little bit unlucky that you have to go in a draw of four people.
01:59Normally with ATP it's only two.
02:02And then I did the draw myself.
02:06If someone was going to fuck it up.
02:09I wanted to be myself.
02:12And it was quite an expensive draw.
02:15And then you have some chips and they rotate it and you cannot see.
02:20So it's completely fair and everyone is watching.
02:22And then the first chip I put was Coleman Wong.
02:26So he was in because Corda pulled out.
02:28And then I was shaking.
02:29I was sweating.
02:30And then I took myself.
02:32And after all one more guy pulled out.
02:36Yeah, but it's never easy as a lucky loser.
02:39It's a pretty tough spot.
02:43They don't treat you like a normal main draw player.
02:47You are not in the main draw.
02:48But you are not even allowed to go in the Chatrier locker rooms.
02:51So no, no.
02:52Go to Seville-Langlais.
02:53And then I was in after Fields pulled out.
02:57And then I could prepare mentally and physically for my first round.
03:02You said you could prepare.
03:03Meaning that when you were waiting for answering, you were just waiting.
03:09You were not training.
03:10No, no.
03:11I was training.
03:13But you're not in.
03:14It's a different mindset.
03:15Of course, I knew I had a good chance.
03:18But I didn't.
03:19I heard on the day.
03:20On, what was it?
03:21Saturday that Fields and Keepson, but they both pulled out.
03:26But I heard they were playing.
03:27So you're like, oh shit, those are the guys that you were hearing rumors about.
03:33And then after all, I heard that he pulled out.
03:36And I still had, yeah, day and a half to prepare mentally.
03:40Thank you so much.
03:42Thank you so much.
