00:58Just wondering how you're feeling physically, obviously you had an interesting first week
01:03on court, and it's going to be cooler starting with your next match, so how are you feeling?
01:08I mean, it looked like you were obviously pretty strong at the end of that match.
01:11Yeah, I mean, I'm feeling surprisingly well, and of course towards the end you start feeling
01:18it, and obviously the weather cooled down towards the last couple of sets and didn't seem to
01:23bother, but it was another hot day, and you just try to get as much fluid and stuff in
01:28your body as possible, and I think one more hot day tomorrow.
01:33I doubt I'll see the courts tomorrow, so just try to use those next, let's say, 36 or
01:3940 hours of recovering and be ready as I can, and it's the beauty of slams and the days off,
01:45we try to use them as much as we can.
01:47Typically, you come here and practice maybe a little bit, but I think I'll save all the
01:50energy I have for Sunday and take it from there.
01:53And, yeah, I have no pains at least, so that's the most important, and see if I can recover.
02:00Hey, Kasper, I'm a hell of a fight today.
02:02Just curious, where was your head at actually when you were down two sets and then also when
02:07you were down two match points on those two separate occasions?
02:09Yeah, I felt like he was the superior player, of course, for the two first sets, and I kind
02:16of, my serve sort of made me hang in the second set, and he was dominating a lot and playing
02:21very loose and aggressive, coming to the net, making my game feel uncomfortable, and I didn't
02:27really find any rhythm in his serve, so I was really not even, you know, sniffing on the
02:33break point until the third set.
02:34I broke him quite early, and that maybe changed a bit momentum, and you just say, you know,
02:38one set at a time here, and it's battles like this you kind of train hard for, and be
02:44in a position to be loved two down is not fun, but it's an opportunity to come back, and
02:49I just told myself, one set at a time, and see what happens from there.
02:54Hi, Gasper.
02:56Congratulations.
02:57Thanks.
02:57And now, without Djokovic in the part of your draw, I don't know if you see yourself as a
03:03title contender, and also, which are your thoughts of Fonseca, your next opponent?
03:07Yeah, it's such an open tournament, which is kind of refreshing, I guess, for everyone,
03:13and to see that there will be a new slam champion in about a week or so, and I think
03:19every
03:19player is aware of it.
03:22Obviously, Novak and Yannick was one of the two highest favorites, and Yannick definitely
03:28the favorite, and yeah, it will be interesting to see where we are in a week's time.
03:32I'm going to try to use the experiences that I've had of reaching far in slams to my advantage,
03:39and see where that takes me, but you focus one match at a time.
03:43I have an incredible task ahead of me with a young special talent like Joao, he has already
03:49beaten top players in his career, so he knows what it takes, and today was probably the biggest
03:56win of his career, so we are kind of in the same position, we came back from 0-2, it
04:02was
04:02long matches, so I will see if I can give him a good match and fight, and you know, he's
04:10a very nice kid, so I'm hoping for a good match.
04:13Hey, Kasper, your two last match were day session, and in fact, you played like in night session.
04:23How do you handle that, and does it force you to change something on your routine the day
04:31after?
04:32Yeah, a bit, I mean, they don't have a night session in Langland, but I consider the last
04:37match to be kind of a bit of a night session, so you just, the days get long, because when
04:43there's no not-before-time, like fourth match on Langland, you have to be here in case it
04:48goes super fast, or let's say there's a walk-over or a quick match on Langland, you have to be
04:54here in case you start, you know, four or five or whatever, and can also start not until
04:59eight or nine, depending on the previous matches, so the days are long and the night will be long.
05:04I'm probably not sleeping until 3, 3.30 or 4 a.m. tonight, so luckily we have a day off
05:10tomorrow, and we'll try to get back into rhythm and see when I get my next match, so it's okay.
05:16I mean, we're used to it. We can, we push now, and I have plenty of time after Roland-Garr
05:21is asleep
05:22and recover, and I, yeah, I'm not planning on playing any tournaments before Wimbledon, so I have
05:29time to rest.
05:33Hello, Kasper. Congratulations, an incredible match. I wanted to talk about your YouTube channel.
05:38We absolutely love the behind-the-scenes content you share. It gives fans a really unique window
05:44into life at the highest level of tennis that most people never get to see, and I'm sure your fans
05:49have binge-watched those videos multiple times. I certainly have. What kind of content are you
05:55planning going forward, and how important it is for you to keep telling that story?
05:59Yeah, it was an idea that popped in my head towards the end of last year to maybe next year
06:03or this year then. Try to bring a little bit behind the scenes for my career, my life, and
06:09kind of what the professional tennis player life looks like. I've seen other athletes do
06:12it, and I found it quite interesting, and I saw an opportunity to kind of bring a camera
06:17behind-the-scenes, but tennis is, you know, very repetitive. We have new tournaments, of
06:24course, every week, but we pretty much do the same every single day, so it's not that easy
06:31to create more or new or refreshing content. Obviously, I have tried them, and I have some
06:37videos that are still being edited and that will come, but, you know, unfortunately I haven't
06:44had the opportunity to bring the videographer to the clay season, so unfortunately there won't
06:49be much from here, but I tried to show some behind-the-scenes of the bigger tournaments,
06:55and obviously it's not that easy to get accreditation, and there are so many other players around as
07:04well, so you don't want to interfere with their private space and this and that, so it's challenging,
07:09but I thought it was fun, and I'm glad some people liked it, and I tried playing a golf
07:15round, and I've tried different things, so we'll see what happens in the future, but I got a lot
07:23of positive feedback, so that's very nice.
