00:00Let us not sleep as others do, admonished the Apostle Paul, but let us keep awake.
00:07Such vigilance is necessary today.
00:30Let us not sleep as others do, admonished the Apostle Paul.
01:17Let us not sleep as others do, admonished the Apostle Paul, but let us keep awake.
01:24Such vigilance is necessary today.
01:27Peace, not merely the absence of war, is justice at work.
01:33But when technology weakens our critical sense, peace itself is at risk.
01:40Disarming, however, is not enough.
01:43We must build.
01:45The word build reminds me of my years as a missionary in Peru.
01:50In 2017, torrential rains and floods struck the north of the country.
01:55Many families saw their homes swallowed by mud, and many roads too.
02:01There I learned that rebuilding does not mean simply replacing what has been destroyed.
02:06It means repairing bonds, restoring trust, and reawaiting.
02:11Brick by brick, a more just coexistence takes shape, capable of safeguarding the dignity of all.
02:18Institutions and individuals, power centers and peripheries.
02:23Will we be able to build a future, not for a privileged few, but for the entire human family?
02:30This is the civilization of love, which St. Paul VI spoke, and which St. John Paul II so forcefully proclaimed
02:40as a horizon to seek together.
02:43It's not a naive dream.
02:46It is a direction.
02:47It is the path that Jesus Christ opens within history.
02:53For this reason, the Church wishes, with humility and frankness, to be part of hope to keep on building the
03:00worksite of our time.
03:02May the Spirit of the Risen Lord sustain our work together.
03:07I entrust each of you to our Mother Mary.
03:10Her Magnificat sings of the greatness of God who uplifts the lowly.
03:15May she teach us to recognize the true greatness of every man and every woman in loving and serving.
03:23May the Lord make fruitful the great enterprise that today we entrust to His grace,
03:29letting the civilization of love mature in history.
03:34And upon all of you, I heartily invoke God's blessing.
03:53The Lord be with you.
03:54And with your spirit.
03:56In the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
03:59keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
04:05Amen.
04:06And may the blessing of Almighty God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit come down upon you and
04:13remain with you forever.
04:15Amen.
04:16Thank you very much.
04:17Amen.
04:19Thank you.
