02:17responsibility to let as many people know that there's a violent tornado headed their way the
02:23ability to get that information out is what saves lives it looks like the severe storm threat for
02:30today going to be just south of north dakota so that's the good news bad news is south dakota
02:35getting in on this and the potential for some tornadic development as well we are late to the supercell

02:49supercell is just towards southwest right now i won this thing might drop i'm chasing with my best

17:46The reports get relayed to the National Weather Service, who issues the tornado warnings, upgrades the warnings to emergencies and

18:19I grew up a science nerd, and I became obsessed with weather at the age of five.
18:24We are here in the Dominator in full-blown tornado intercept mode.
18:29We built the Dominators to get inside of the tornado and measure data that other people cannot safely collect.
18:36The hardest part is always showing up to every storm on time.

19:15This storm is going to be capable of all hazards.

38:55That funnel starts to constrict.
38:57And it takes a left turn away from the town of Gary.
39:02And inside, I just, a huge sigh of relief as I know that this tornado is nearing its end.
39:10And the town of Gary is going to be okay.

39:36I get even more excited after all these years, these days.
39:40So the excitement doesn't go away.
39:41The passion only gets more intense with age.
39:43And that's why we have no choice but to continue to chase.

39:54That was one of the most insane tornado chases of all time.
39:58So just absolutely insane.
39:59I mean, hopefully we help, you know, just warn some people out there.

40:06And yeah, it was just a crazy day.

40:27Today was literally a career, like a career chase.
40:31I, yeah, one of the most incredible chases I've ever been on, like in my 15 years.
40:40But yeah, this is definitely one for the record books.

40:52I'm so blessed I get to do this.

41:06You know, I went into it wanting to prove myself and wanting to do the perfect thing.

41:15You can just do what you think in your heart is the best thing to do.
41:19And that the day was done correctly.
41:22It's not perfect.
41:23And there will never be a perfect day, but we did the best thing we could.
