00:00Let's go over to the Eastern Conference.
00:02Have you been surprised by the Knicks this year?
00:05I mean, you know, are they surprising you in what they're doing?
00:09No, shocked by that.
00:12The fact that I have to look at all those old Knicks on the sideline for every game,
00:19my buddy Patrick Ewing, John Starks.
00:22Damn, John Starks, you're not coaching.
00:24You're not playing.
00:25Get off the floor.
00:27You got Larry Johnson there.
00:29All these Knick players, I love the fact that the Knicks have really embraced
00:33their older players to come in and kind of get some enthusiasm.
00:37It's been fun to watch.
00:40Jalen Brunson has been sensational, if you watch him, his maturity as a player.
00:46The Knicks have gone a lot of times and gone out and gotten players
00:50who have been free agents, and it hasn't worked for them.
00:53This might be the best pickup the Knicks have ever had as a free agent.
00:58I can think maybe in the history of the New York Knicks basketball.
01:02I can go back and I can think about all these other players.
01:06Stoudemire didn't work out as well when he came there.
01:10They went and got all these other players that they ended up getting back.
01:15Marvin Webster, the human eraser, didn't work.
01:18Bob McAdoo didn't work.
01:20But this creation that they were able to come in and sign, he's done.
01:24He's been sensational.
01:25And he's the heart and soul of what the Knicks are doing.
01:28And the fan base love him.
01:29That's, I think, that really is the key.
01:32You know what, too, Cornbread, maybe you'll go back to Monroe
01:36when they added a guy that was a guy that wasn't there initially,
01:39and they brought in Monroe, right?
01:41I mean, for that 73 team, you could put the pearl in there.
01:44But, you know, we say, have you been shocked?
01:48Can you imagine if this guy wins an NBA championship for the first time since 1973,
01:53if he's part of this, on what they'll look like for him?
01:57Look, I go back, 1973, as the year I graduated from high school
02:03when the Knicks won the championship, to be with the Celtics right now
02:08and to watch the Knicks fans, the fan base, absolutely go crazy.
02:13They've always supported the Knicks.
02:15The Knicks have always sold out the building.
02:17But they have a tendency to turn on the New York Knicks.
02:22But the Knicks have given them nothing else but pleasure.
02:26The gift that they got last week when they played against Cleveland,
02:31down 20 with five minutes to go in the game, to come back and win that game,
02:35I think that just took the heart and soul out of the Cavaliers.
02:38So to watch the Knicks and to see what they're able to do right now
02:41and if they were able to win a championship, not just to get there,
02:47you think about Patrick Ewing and all these other guys who have been in vogue
02:51to try to win one and not win it, if they were able to win it this year,
02:55it would be crazy.
02:56Has the difference in the play of the Knicks been Carl Anthony Towns?
03:01Because he looks like he's just played a lot better over the last couple series.
03:06Has that been the difference with his back-and-forth play on both sides of the court?
03:10I think it's that, also the camaraderie.
03:14If you look at those guys that they got from Villanova,
03:17you know, when you think about those guys,
03:19they've been playing together.
03:20You know, they just play well together.
03:23Josh Hart's not a great player, but he's such a glue player
03:28that he does all these other little things for them
03:31that make them the team they are.
03:34And Anobi to get him, another guy who fits in well.
03:37Their pieces really fit well together.
03:40I think it's almost like a puzzle.
03:42When you think about these pieces they were able to get
03:44and bring these guys and put them together,
03:47they have just done an amazing job.
03:50And you think about it.
03:52Divido did a great job to get them into the playoffs.
03:55And they, you know,
03:57and they got that far and they fired him
03:59and they bring in Brown.
04:00And Brown has taken them yet to another level.
04:03So it's kind of fun and interesting to see
04:05where the Knicks are going.
04:07Can the Cavs get back in the series?
04:10Absolutely not.
04:12I don't think they can.
04:13I think that.
04:14Why?
04:14I can't think.
04:15Well, I just think it took their heart and soul.
04:18And I'm looking at Donovan Mitchell.
04:20He doesn't look to be 100%.
04:23They need him.
04:24James Harden has been pretty much a shell of himself.
04:28You're going to have to play damn near a perfect game
04:30to go in and their attitude right now.
04:34It's just been, it's just been,
04:36their hearts have been taken away.
04:38I just don't see them coming back in this series
04:42able to win it.
04:43I've seen a lot of series being played,
04:45but you start to look at the body,
04:47the body language and the chemistry of a team.
04:49And I watched, I watched them the other day,
04:52watched the Cavaliers against the Knicks the other day.
04:55And all you could see was this,
04:57their shoulders start to droop and droop and droop again.
05:00And I don't see them with the energy
05:02or the firepower right now to come back.
