00:00I was out running errands one day and I saw this cat behind the shopping center.
00:04I got a closer look and I realized that half of his body was covered in wounds
00:08and he was so emaciated I originally thought he was a senior cat.
00:12I immediately ran down the street to grab cat food and a have a heart trap
00:17because we were gonna trap this boy.
00:20And of course I called my mom, she's my partner in crime,
00:23and we both sat and waited for around six hours until he finally stepped inside the trap.
00:30It's okay, baby. I really got you, baby.
00:33And we got a closer look at him at this point and realized we could not wait another minute.
00:38We took him immediately to the emergency vet.
00:42The veterinarian had told us that there were many unknowns about his recovery.
00:47My mom and I had watched him for hours beforehand
00:50and we knew that he was a fighter and we were determined to fight with him.
00:59His journey was not over yet.
01:02He required daily sedated bandage changes for weeks.
01:16A little over a month, his bandage was finally able to come off.
01:30Lester did not know how to be a cat.
01:32I would try to play with him the way I deal with my other cats
01:35and he would look at the toy and be like,
01:38what is this?
01:39But everything changed when I started introducing him to Frog, our other cat.
01:51Lester would watch Frog play so curiously until, slowly but surely, he started to join in.
02:03It took a couple of weeks, but by November, they were best friends.
02:10Frog really taught Lester how to be a cat.
02:13Your cat.
