On the lighter side...

Presentation College San Fernando recently won the SSCL double under the leadership of Brendan Boodoo.

We decided to visit the institution on the verdant hill, where we met with some of the team members, who touched on the success and were certainly Proud To Be Pres.

Here's more.
Transcript
00:00This is Presentation College San Fernando, a prestigious institution which continues to make a name for itself in academics and
00:07sports.
00:07On a quiet Tuesday morning, some of the students were writing their exams, while others were just mingling with their
00:13friends.
00:15Those partaking in some sporting activities too could not be left out.
00:18Speaking of which, some of the members of the cricket team were posing with a coveted trophy.
00:23After all, the year 2026 saw the school clinching the double.
00:27The PowerGen SSCL Premiership 1 title and the Intercol T20 Championship.
00:32It's something the players will cherish for the rest of their lives, following the accomplishments under their unassuming captain Brendan
00:38Boudou.
00:39I'd like to thank God too because without him, none of this would have been possible.
00:45To our sponsors too and management.
00:47So with us, the key to success was bonding and brotherhood.
00:50Starting preparation before the season started with countless practice sessions and practice matches, bonding together and knowing each other's strengths
01:01and weaknesses and what our team is composed of going into this tournament.
01:05That was our advantage, I would say, going into the tournament with more preparation than other teams.
01:12Boudou has been quite busy as a cricketer and is also playing in the TTCB T20 Festival.
01:18Regarding his performances with Prez, he was pleased with what he was able to achieve.
01:23I would say my performances were really good, you know, second most runs in SSCL along with, I think, like
01:30it was 10 wickets.
01:32It was a really good performance for me.
01:33I would like to see myself playing for Red Force and West Indy's senior team and franchises all over the
01:40world.
01:41Also playing a major role for the team was all-rounder Cahill Thomas.
01:45For him, the aim is to keep improving and being consistent in years to follow.
01:50Really satisfied with my performances this season, you know.
01:52First year coming into the team, really good performances, a couple of 50s under my belt and helping my team
01:57get over the line this season, really satisfied.
01:59Everyone really proud of me, especially my parents, even the teammates, being the youngest coming into the team, they were
02:05really proud of me with a lot of the big performances.
02:08While credit goes to the cricketers for bringing joy to the members of Prez Sando, those working behind the scenes
02:13are also worth mentioning.
02:15One of them happens to be Coach Hollister Padgett, who got a good head start working with some experienced persons.
02:22Initially, we would have started really early.
02:25We would have started practice in October.
02:28With that, we would have brought in David Williams, ex-West Indy's player, as well as Lyndon Luke, into the
02:35fray of the coaching staff.
02:38I think that would have augured well with the team.
02:42Last but not least is Kadeen Kahn, head of department and teacher in charge of cricket.
02:48According to Kahn, former vice principal Kenny Mutu Singh had an instrumental role to play in taking cricket forward.
02:53But regarding Kahn herself, what was her function with the cricket team?
02:58A manager per se, but it's really an organiser.
03:01It is a person that keeps the records, that organises the students, ordering of uniforms, things of that nature.
03:08And really, when you look at a team, you need to have someone in that capacity that organises and kind
03:15of inspires you.
03:16So it's a kind of motherly role you play with the students as well, to comfort and to encourage them.
03:22Well, Prez Sando are hungry for more success in 2027.
03:26So can they do it? Time will tell.
03:29Venod now on ETA64.
