00:00I need Carter Hart to change his name to Corey Hart,
00:02and I need him to wear sunglasses up at that podium
00:05because this guy, could he get hot?
00:07We've heard the term before, Joe.
00:09Stand on your head, take us to a Stanley Cup,
00:11or just to a 2-0 series lead.
00:13Vegas, again, in town to take on Colorado.
00:15Who knows if McCarr is going to be ready for this game,
00:18but still a monster favorite for the Avalanche.
00:20Could they, then the Golden Knights,
00:23leave elevation with a 2-0 series lead?
00:25Vegas and Colorado tonight, Joe, what's the spread line?
00:28Well, Donnie, we have seen hot goaltenders
00:30carry teams into the Stanley Cups, have we not?
00:34That is what it's going to require
00:35if they're going to win this game.
00:37I don't think they're going to do it.
00:39I think Colorado is going to have 40 shots on goal.
00:42I think it's just a numbers game.
00:44I think Colorado evens the series.
00:46Let's flip it over to the ice.
00:47In a must-win game, that's the Colorado Avalanche.
00:50You know, you want to lose two games,
00:51you better hope it's on the opposing team's ice
00:53and you come back home.
00:54You lose the first two games of the series on home ice,
00:56there's a good chance you're not even coming back
00:58for a game number five.
00:59The Vegas Golden Knights taking on the Colorado Avalanche
01:02and the favorites and the heavy favorite.
01:03It's no surprise once again for game number two.
01:05It is the Colorado Avalanche.
01:0864% they're trading as the favorite here.
01:1165 cents, though, is the contract to the yes.
01:14Must-win game for the Avalanche,
01:16but Vegas just is living that charmed life right now.
01:18Could they steal game number two?
01:20What are we thinking, Joe?
01:21Golden Knights and the Avalanche.
01:23So, the big question here, Donnie, is can Carhartt continue to stand on his head?
01:29I mean, he was getting...
01:31The fact that the Avalanche only scored two goals in that game is amazing.
01:35They could have had six easily, and that's exactly what you're going to see.
01:40The chances are going to be there for Colorado.
01:43The question is, can they break this code here of Carhartt?
01:46If you think it can, Donnie, I don't see this game staying under tonight in any way, shape, or form.
01:52I think Vegas still can score on Colorado.
01:56Goaltending is still the weakest part.
01:58But if you think Colorado can convert a few more of those chances,
02:02I think this is going to be a much higher scoring game than game one.
02:06By the way, Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche.
02:08Game number two is going to take place, Tom.
02:10Most people thought Colorado would just win game number one and possibly game number two
02:13and have an easy time with Vegas.
02:14Not so fast, as they like to say.
02:17Why?
02:17The Vegas Golden Knights with a chance to go up 2-0.
02:20But my question to you is, is it the time to buy the Avalanche,
02:24currently trading at a 54% chance to win this series?
02:27Or are the Golden Knights for real and Carter Hart and Torrance out there
02:31should be the way to go?
02:32You know, I want to say if you are willing to buy into the Avs,
02:36it's really depending on whether or not you think Caleb McCarr is going to be playing tonight.
02:40Because if he's not going to be playing tonight and the Avs were to lose again,
02:44then that would be the opportunity to buy into the Avs if they were to lose.
02:48The number would be much better on them at that point.
02:50Now, Cam McCarr is a massive, massive impact for them.
02:53I said this coming in, the Vegas Golden Knights are for real.
02:56They are.
02:56Mitch Marner is playing at an unbelievable level right now.
02:59They have too much talent.
03:00And it's not some chasm between these teams thinking that the market was like 80-20 or 70-30.
03:05It's really like a 55-45 in terms of who I thought would win and leaning in the favor of
03:09the Avs.
03:09But the Avs are good enough to win.
03:12But they need Cal McCarr.
03:15They do.
03:16But they got...
03:17It feels like, man, it could have been eight, nine goals in game one there.
03:22I mean, the chances are going to be there for Colorado.
03:26That is clear.
03:27If they convert on a couple of more,
03:29it's tough to look at an under in this game with a desperate Colorado team.
03:34No?
03:34It is.
03:35It absolutely is.
03:36They have to get the offense going.
03:38And, frankly, when you're going to pour in 30, 35 shots,
03:40whatever Carter Hart had the other night in terms of saves,
03:44he's not going to have that every night.
03:45And, listen, if he's going to have that every night,
03:46then he just is going to win the consmite.
03:48Then we're just wrong about it.
03:49But the goals will be coming for Colorado,
03:51especially once Cal McCarr gets back.
03:53Their offense will only improve compared to where they were.
03:56Yeah, it's good stuff to watch it play out here from a Flyers perspective.
04:00Carter Hart was supposed to be our franchise goalie,
04:02and now could he win a Stanley Cup in Vegas from a former coach in John
04:06Tortorella as well.
04:07But those Montreal Canadiens last night, my goodness.
04:09You want to talk about a series like Rust versus Rest here,
04:12and Carolina hasn't lost a game.
04:14It should win it easy.
04:15Tom, I had to do a double take.
04:16I was watching Major League Baseball.
04:18Let me tune in to hockey.
04:19Four to one at the end of the first period,
04:22and away the Canadiens went.
04:24So now we take a look at the Calci marketplace.
04:26The Carolina Hurricanes still the favorite,
04:28but only at a 53% clip to win this series.
04:31Montreal wiped them out in game number one.
04:33How do we view this series game number two beyond?
04:37If the Canes get back on track,
04:39I expect them to win this series in six, maybe five games.
04:43All of the underlying metrics still support the Canes to be the better team.
04:48When it comes, you know, last night specifically in game one,
04:50the shot attempts, the Canes outshot attempted the Habs by 30, right?
04:56So even though they lost and they gave up more goals,
04:58all of the underlying metrics are always going to be in favor of the Canes.
05:01That's why the market over the past however many years
05:03since Rod Brinmore has been there,
05:04that's why they've always been one of the favorites,
05:05just because they have such strong underlying metrics.
05:07I will say if the series stays close in terms of the Habs being within
05:12a one goal margin in every game, they have the potential to upset teams.
05:15That's what they've done.
05:16That's how they beat the Lightning.
05:18You know, that's how they beat the Sabres.
05:19They have the potential to beat the Canes.
05:21I think the Canes, if they get out and running,
05:23I'm not sure they can keep up with them on a game in and game out basis.
05:28They certainly, I mean, that was impressive,
05:30but the rust was there.
05:32That's obvious.
05:33But now it feels like we're back to the same old Carolina,
05:36like great team,
05:37but they just can't get out of their own way by the time they make it to
05:40the Eastern Conference Finals, Tom.
05:42It's like rinse and repeat here.
05:44Goaltending concern us still a little bit?
05:47It has to.
05:49I did before with the Canes.
05:50Like they have goaltending issues,
05:52but as long as the system,
05:53the defensive system in front of Freddie Anderson is good.
05:56They'll always be in a chance.
05:57So if they can insulate him to,
05:59and he doesn't have to carry the game,
06:01that's how they can win.
