Mumbai, Maharashtra: Veteran Hindustani classical and ghazal vocalist Ustad Ghulam Abbas Khan spoke to IANS at the launch of his new Sufi track 'Mujh Mein Tu' in Mumbai, where he shared insights on Sufi music, lyrical depth and changing musical trends. He described Sufi singing as a deeply spiritual practice that demands emotional devotion beyond technical skill and spoke about his collaboration with the lyricist of the song. The maestro said that much of today’s music in his view is missing the 'soul connection' that defined the ghazal and classical traditions of his era. He also expressed concern over the rise of AI-generated music calling it fearful and questioning its impact on creativity and emotional authenticity in future music.
