00:00My name is Sir. First of all, welcome to INS. And talking about your single Chahe Jandu,
00:06you need to blend emotional intensity with the contemplative Sonish Pirates.
00:10How do you interpret the emotional landscape when you first heard the lyrics as well as the composition of your song?
00:17I must say, see this song was very away from a lot of songs that I have done before.
00:24You know, at a point of time, you get a lot of songs that is in your repertoire.
00:30This is also my repertoire. Radhavan Blues' R&B is a genre which is very much my repertoire of genres that I approach in music.
00:41So, I thought that this song is not just like a filmy song that comes in films.
00:47And it was very unique, very simple. And the composition was not as high-five composition.
00:56But Ayaz gave me so much freedom.
01:01So, it gave me so much freedom.
01:03And when we record it, I was asking, can I try like this? Can I try like this?
01:08So, I was like, this is a very unconventional melody for me.
01:17And my goal is that when I do songs, I just want to do songs that is different from each other.
01:23I just want to have more variation, more variety, and more versatility so that I can showcase as a singer also.
01:33Sir, what aspect of this song message at the next little person?
01:38It's a love message, you know. Love message is very common for everybody.
01:43And, you know, this is basically love, friendship, everything comes together in one piece over here, you know.
01:53It's a very simple message, it's not very complicated.
01:57So, this is why I like something that is very simple, but if it is produced really well, I think it resonates really well with the audience too.
02:07How did you shape the way that you can do it?
02:11Oh, I was really in awe of the freedom that he gave me because, of course, he had a melody in Stencil.
02:18It was a basic melody that he had made.
02:22And he also said that, you know, this song, I made this keeping you in mind.
02:27And he was right.
02:30Because sometimes you know that, okay, this song is not suitable for you.
02:34Then we try it.
02:36But this song, the moment I heard it, I was like, this is a very sweet song.
02:40It's very sweet song.
02:41It's a very sweet song.
02:42It's a very sweet song.
02:43And it's such a song, my body of hope is very low in my body of hope.
02:48So, I thought I should do it.
02:50Yeah, of course, like, a new feeling, you know, I have to do it.
03:17And when I was singing, I was very raw, they recorded it, but they promised me that, sir, the final output will be a must.
03:26Like, I will do justice to what you have done. And when they sent me a rough link, I said, sir, how do you feel?
03:35I said, it sounds fab. It sounded really fabulous. And he made me sound really amazing.
03:41And as a music producer and a composer, it's his responsibility to, like, make everything sound amazing, not just the vocals also.
03:51But he's really done a fabulous job on the song, on the whole song.
03:55I think I'm, I'm definitely, this song is going to be in one of the new slow jams playlist of every person out there. Yeah. Be it any age.
04:15How did you, did you think about this? Was there anything about this guy?
04:25No, see, when I, when he said he had a song for me, I wasn't expecting anything.
04:33I think, actually, in truth, whatever song I want to do, I don't expect that much.
04:41So, when something is good, you'll be happy.
04:47But this was just really good. So, it was like an amazing thing.
04:52See, when the song is so good, the singer is feeling very indulgent, self-indulgent.
04:57I mean, like, we don't want to push ourselves in the song.
05:01And he is also keeping all of that in the song and not saying,
05:06Acha, am, yeh simply jayenge. Asa kar ki, koji format nahi tha.
05:09Toh, he was, he was accepting of it.
05:12He had love ki baat hata hai na.
05:14His love for music.
05:15Toh, he really showcased that in the song through my voice, through his arrangements, composition,
05:22the entire mix, everything is just sounding very clean, very clear, you know, and very aesthetically done.
05:31Talking about the lyrics, Kalal, writing often carries a lyrical text.
05:35Was there specific lines in Chayat under that acted view or unique vocal interpretation?
05:41No, I think it, the whole song itself is, I have, I have no words. Lyrically,
05:47I am not a critic of good, of good or bad lyrics.
05:53I mean, mujhe, agar ho sounding mein, or melody ke sat, sink ho jata hai.
05:59I think then it has, automatically kohi bhi ga sakta hai.
06:02So, I, I didn't gauge much on the lyrics, but I think the song is sounding brilliant at the end of the day.
06:09And big kudos to Kunal for writing this wonderful lyrics.
06:14You were talking about the start of the early in your career.
06:17So, when music directors didn't have anything to offer you, you had to beat just a stronger chorus, cover chorus.
06:24So, when you look back now, how do you feel this movement shaped the way your adventure about it?
06:29It's taught me what not to be in life, you know.
06:33Meaning, discourage karna, or like insensitive ho na.
06:40Kyunki kabhi kabhar kuchh log kuchh na kuchh toh baki dieta hai.
06:44And, uh, us ke, us ke, us ke wajay se baut saare lhoon ka dil dukhta hai.
06:49Toh ye, you know, you're intentionally or unintentionally,
06:55aap toh kisi na kisi ko harm kar rahe ho.
06:58Unko dukh pauncha raha hai.
06:59I think that's what I've learnt.
07:01Like, you stay humble and what happened to you should not happen to someone else.
07:06Agar aap aasa aik situation mein hai, how can you make it right?
07:11Meaning, aap ki, aap ki purani situations mein baut kuchh cheez hai, sahih nahi huay.
07:16Lekin, acha hua, us ke wajay se, aap, aap ne kuchh kiya nahi, us ke ba gair.
07:21Like, you know, like, against it, we don't do anything.
07:23We just went on with life and, you know.
07:25We just went on with life and, you know.
07:27We break karne ke liye baut sarhi situations hain.
07:32Lekin, I think that should not affect your mind.
07:37Aapna mental health ko thoda sane rakhna baut zhururi hai.
07:42Aur, us ke liye bas eki ilaj hai.
07:46Ki woh hard work karta raha, effort karta raha.
07:48Ne life mein.
07:49Ta ki, jeet harna.
07:52Like, kisi na kisi ek din.
07:54Woh jeet toh aajai ga apke hat mein.
07:56Aapna even mentioned ke sa stepping into the share goal,
07:59he wasn't high of me.
08:01How was it that grounding influence your resilience and your artistic project?
08:05It's, it's very normal, no?
08:11To, like, take your pains and take your…
08:14Being an artist, actually, just to, you know, like,
08:17bring your aesthetics out of a lot of hardships makes you stronger.
08:21I think, like you said, your question has all the answers and resilience.
08:26You build all of that through a lot of hardships and everything.
08:30And I think life without hardships is meaningless.
08:34Ye toh, it tam hai bata sakta hum.
08:36For those who have it easy,
08:40you know, I would say experience some hardship.
08:44Probably just start being more independent and not depending on a lot of things.
08:49Tab, pata chalta hai ki, life mein log kitana mehanat kar raha hai,
08:55apna life ko kaise balance kar raha hai.
08:58It's, it's brought a lot of balance for me, I must say that.
09:01It taught me a lot of balance.
09:02You know, like, how to balance life, family life, professional life,
09:08and my mental health, my physical health, and my love for life.
09:15You know, life took a turning 2006,
09:18I mean, a lot of balance from this.
09:20Something you originally thought was a bad.
09:24How do you look bad at it?
09:26In the context of the reason for a new song like Chahe Jaan Le?
09:31In context of Chahe Jaan Le?
09:33In context of Chahe Jaan Le?
09:34In context of Chahe Jaan Le?
09:35Chahe Jaan Le?
09:36Chahe Jaan Le?
09:37Chahe Jaan Le?
09:38I'm not going to leave the music.
09:39I'm going to leave the music.
09:40I can't tell you.
09:41But yeah, I would say this is a great journey.
09:46It's a great journey.
09:47It started there.
09:48We are here.
09:49What can I say?
09:52We have to continue.
09:54And I'm grateful.
09:56I'm really grateful for whatever has happened in my life.
09:58See, see.
09:59We force a lot of things in our life.
10:03And there are 2-3 things that we shouldn't force.
10:07That is our destiny.
10:09And love.
10:11You know, you can't force love on people.
10:15You can't let people force love on you.
10:18So, and second thing is, this,
10:23like how they say in Bhagavad Gita,
10:27,
10:29So, I think,
10:32I was very young.
10:34And at that time,
10:37I don't know this.
10:39But over time, you know,
10:40when you reflect upon what is happening in your life,
10:43that's when that whole pattern comes to us,
10:46that life is like this.
10:47So, yeah.
10:49Today we are here.
10:51I'm sitting in front of you.
10:53I'm grateful for everything.
10:57Over the years,
10:58your vocal side has moved directly between
11:01John and Bollywood,
11:03India,
11:04So, where does Shahe Chande's
11:06think in your artistic evolution?
11:09I think,
11:10I think,
11:11I would,
11:12I would consider this is going to be like,
11:14Indian neo-soul kind of a vibe.
11:18Meaning, neo-soul is like one,
11:20one,
11:21one part of blues and R&B and soul and everything.
11:25So, neo-soul is something that is very contemporary,
11:28but it's simple.
11:29And at the same time,
11:30it has got musical intricacies.
11:32Toh,
11:33yeh wala hi genre,
11:35meri,
11:36kitty bag mein thai hi nahi.
11:38And I'm happy that I have something like that.
11:40Do you consistently try to reinvent your sound?
11:44Or does it be an intention at organically?
11:48Organically,
11:49but the,
11:50the,
11:51the intention is,
11:54my,
11:55yeh ye intention is,
11:56ki,
11:57mein,
11:58aapko,
11:59har baar,
12:00jo bhi kuru mein,
12:01re-invent karu.
12:02Ta ki,
12:03people can't put a finger on me.
12:04Mujhe,
12:05mujhe achcha nahi lagtaya,
12:06kabhi kawara,
12:07haa bheni hai toho fast,
12:08fast gana gaayega.
12:09When he hai,
12:10toh party songs gaayenge.
12:11Ayse karke,
12:12baut sari loog baat kahte hain.
12:13But I sing more than that.
12:15Toh,
12:16if,
12:17agar koi,
12:18explore,
12:19karna nahi chahtu,
12:20toh,
12:21thik hai.
12:22Toh,
12:23you know,
12:24like,
12:25that is my mission in life.
12:26Kaise bhi ho,
12:27hame,
12:28apni journey ko,
12:29uh,
12:30rukawad nahi dini chahiye.
12:31I think, you know,
12:32you have to keep it continuing.
12:33Aur,
12:34uh,
12:35bas.
12:36Actors ki,
12:37like,
12:38haa,
12:39haa,
12:40ji,
12:41sir.
12:42haa,
12:43haa,
12:44haa,
12:45haa,
12:46haa,
12:47zaraur.
12:48haa,
12:49haa,
12:50haa,
13:02zao,
13:03released 3 pictures
13:04one was known to you
13:06which was the song
13:07Pappu Gannan Sall
13:08then released
13:10Yuvraj
13:11which was the song
13:12you were my friend
13:13Salman Khan Sir
13:14and then released
13:16Gajni
13:18which was how you got
13:19so in these 3 songs
13:21there was a lot of contrast
13:22and these 3 songs
13:24were super hits
13:25I can say it
13:27and now you will agree
13:29so there is a lot of variation
13:31in my voice
13:33and then
13:34it just
13:35you know
13:36if people are seeing that
13:39or listening to that
13:40I think
13:40they will know what to do
13:42if this is the safe mode
13:45for everybody
13:45yes
13:46this is genre creation
13:47it is just this
13:47but okay
13:49so I have no issues
13:50but
13:50if I have a song
13:53to do this
13:54then I will create it
13:55and what else

14:37in your life
14:38and apply that

15:38Whatever you are, whether you are an actor or a singer or any other,
15:45or whether you are a public speaking or a dancer,
15:50or go to the studio and do it like this, cut.
15:55But if you don't do it on stage,
15:57the public will come to understand that it's okay.
16:01This is a good artist.
16:03No, it's okay.
16:04Let's do it.
16:07I only believe in that.
16:09When you talk about the concepts,
16:12I think that the concepts are very good.
16:15The concepts are very good.
16:17The concepts are very good.
16:19The concepts are very good.
16:24Yes, definitely.
16:27Definitely.
16:28Don't ignore all the things.
16:30Because basic sanitation, basic requirements,
16:34and quality.
16:36You know, there are a lot of production houses who are doing high quality work.
16:41We don't need to do sideline them.
16:44We don't need to generalize them.
16:46Because there is high quality work also.
16:49Because I can say that this event industry is a very big industry in our country.
16:56Of course, definitely.
16:57There are so many cities where people draw in so many limitations.
17:01They don't want to take risks.
17:03So, if we can take risks and the quality, we can take risks,
17:08the results will be very different.
17:11So, I feel that they can just take a little bit more risk and invest in things that can make the entire infrastructure, live infrastructure, live venues.
17:22You know, for...
17:23Because now, look, youngster's music is very good.
17:26Music is very good.
17:27Music is very good.
17:28Because of the reason, many people are stuck.
17:30And in many places.
17:32Only in one place.
17:33Not in one place.
17:34So, music is very good.
17:37Music is very good.
17:39Music and cricket.
17:40Of course, movies definitely do.
17:43But,
17:44one night, two hours, three hours,
17:46Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat,
17:51UP, Delhi, Kerala,
17:54all of the people are watching festivals.
17:56They are watching their favorite artists.
17:58So, it's a very powerful force.
18:02Music is a very powerful force.
18:04So, it's a very powerful force.
18:06So, we need to invest that.
18:08We need to invest that infrastructure.
18:10Because of our youth, it's our future.
18:13So, we will listen and enjoy it.
18:17And then we will enjoy it.
18:18We will enjoy it.
18:19Yes, it's so a lot of fun.
18:20So, we will go and go and go and go and go.
18:22You can talk about it.
18:24What do you hope listeners carry them after experiencing child's channel?
18:29More love.
18:31love. I think it's, you know, just, I would say just enjoy, there is lots of good indie
18:40music that is coming in India. I wish it is not called as indie music anymore. It's just
18:46called music, like really good music that's coming. And Chahi Jandli is definitely going
18:51to be one of those.
18:53And are there any upcoming collaborations or musical direction that excite you as much
18:57as this practice?
18:58Yeah, of course. I have, I've been working on a lot of music, but yeah, I don't want
19:04to reveal a lot of them, but I'm, I would say like existing man, I've not done, abhi
19:10Hindi mein kuch nahi kya hon, ek, ek, do saal se, because meinne bhi chota saik break lia
19:16tha music se. Mujhe bas, I just wanted like spend time at home, meri baife ke saath ar,
19:21you know, amare ghar mein bhi ek naya meh manane wala hai. Toh, you know, we are having a baby.
19:26Ohe, toh, toh baby aa raha hai. Toh, is this liye, meinne socha chalou, thoda time family
19:32ke saath bhi bitana bhi zhura raha hai, ki baais saal se mein live shows kar raha hong,
19:36gaane ka raha raha hong, record kar raha hong, TV shows pa raha hong, sab kuch kar raha hong.
19:40And it's a very high-end superhero movie.
19:42And it's a very high-end superhero movie.
19:44And that's one really amazing, commendable movie, joh meinne kam kiya bhi recently.
19:48And it's a very high-end superhero movie.
19:50And it's a very high-end superhero movie.
19:52And it's a very high-end superhero movie.
19:54And that's one really amazing, commendable movie, joh meinne kam kiya bhi recently.
19:58And that's one really amazing, commendable movie, joh meinne kam kiya bhi recently.
20:13And mein aista aista shuru kar raha hong na shows ko.
20:15Lekin bhoh chara music mein create kar raha hong site pe, joh mein release karonga.
20:192026 mein release karonga, 2027 mein release karonga.
20:22So, I'm very excited that way.
20:25No sir, dekho, mera life, aap mera life ke baare mei suchte nahi ye.
20:38Dekho, mein hun Malayali, mein kerala se houn, originally.
20:42Mein paida huwa ta uae mein, to dher sarai indians.
20:46Mäin hindi, waisa hiya sikha tha.
20:48Mein padhna, likhna sab janta hou.
