00:00Yeah, let me just double down.
00:01A report came out that, because Joe and I have conversations all the time, like LeBron James, where's he going?
00:05He's obviously not going to retire, but we thought it'd be interesting.
00:08You know what, if he goes to the Knicks or over the cap, well, I'll take the veteran exception here.
00:12So I'll move in, doesn't affect your cap, you know, I'll be a starter, and we'll really do this thing.
00:16Well, a report came out that goes, absolutely not.
00:19He's never going to take a veteran minimum, which then leads us to believe, as Joe pointed out,
00:23he's probably going to be back with the Lakers then because they'll be able to afford to pay him,
00:27as opposed to Kevin, why wouldn't he go sign a two-year deal for $78 million and be like, whoa,
00:32we're a little bit strapped at this point right now?
00:34Yeah, my take on this is I don't actually think people want LeBron to take the veteran minimum.
00:41Like, he is the, even if you don't like LeBron, he's what, the 25th best player in the NBA?
00:49If you really like LeBron, he's a top 15-ish player in the NBA.
00:55That guy shouldn't be playing on a veteran's minimum.
00:58Like, a lot of people base it on if LeBron needs the money.
01:01If LeBron was making contract decisions based on need of money, he could have been playing on the vet mins
01:05for a decade, right?
01:06That's not what this is based on.
01:08Sometimes it's about the balances of basketball.
01:12Now, playing for the mid-level exception, which is probably like $15 million,
01:18like, we can have a conversation at that point.
01:21I think that's, you know, a little bit different.
01:23But I never, like, I never really liked the idea of LeBron playing on the veteran minimum, quite frankly.
