00:02Joe, it is still very much fluid and there is a lot of wrangling happening behind the scenes
00:06between Syrian authorities and Kurdish authorities about their movements here.
00:11But clearly there is something afoot about this group trying to get them out of the Al-Raj camp
00:16in the very northeastern tip of Syria onwards to Damascus and then to begin their trip home.
00:22We know that there is one woman in this cohort who will not be travelling
00:26and that is the individual who is subject to a temporary exclusion order from the Australian Government
00:32banning their travel to Australia on national security grounds.
00:36But the children involved in that family will, we understand, be moving with the broader group
00:42which include other members of their family.
00:45There is this uncertainty about the exact timing of it and that is still to be arranged there.
00:52A lot of back and forth between the authorities about this movement but certainly the intention is there.
00:58And while camp officials are telling the ABC explicitly that they are not aware of any moves at this point,
01:05clearly this is spreading through the local community.
01:07Other camp officials and members of the Syrian government bureaucracy are saying that this is imminent.
01:14The Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, was asked about this earlier today
01:17and he said that Australia reiterating that Australia is not helping to bring these individuals home,
01:24that they will face the full force of the law if and when they do return.
01:29Of course that is something which in the past has not satisfied members of the federal opposition
01:33demanding that the government do more to block this group from travelling to Australia
01:37and seizing upon things such as the fact that they have been granted single-use passports to make that journey.
01:44It was just a couple of weeks ago, about a fortnight ago now,
01:49that another group, a group of four women and nine children,
01:53did travel to Australia through Damascus, then on to Qatar,
01:58where they flew from there to Sydney and to Melbourne.
02:01Three of the women were arrested on arrival by the Australian Federal Police.
02:05Two of them are facing charges relating to slavery,
02:08another facing charges of joining a terrorist organisation, Islamic State,
02:12and staying in a declared terrorist zone.
02:15All three of them are still in custody, Joe.
