00:01Well, Premier David Crisofulli says he hopes the AFP will quickly and swiftly probe this
00:08matter into his former Olympics Minister, Tim Mander.
00:12Mr Mander was forced to stand aside from Cabinet yesterday after the Australian Electoral
00:18Commission referred him to the AFP amid questions about his enrolment status.
00:24Mr Mander insists he's always followed the rules.
00:27He insists that he correctly updated his details but the AEC has decided to take this step and
00:33refer him to the AFP for them to make a determination on this matter.
00:39In the meantime, Tim Mander will stand aside from Cabinet from his ministerial duties of
00:44the Olympics and the 2032 Games.
00:46Today David Crisofulli fronted the media.
00:49He says that his former minister has assured him he's been truthful and he also says that
00:55he hopes the AFP will look into this matter swiftly.
00:58He's assured me that he's been truthful and now it's up to the AFP to investigate that and
01:04I think that's a fair and reasonable process.
01:07It's what I said to you from the start and it's what I remain consistent with today.
01:11David Crisofulli says he'll await this probe by the AFP before making any long-term decisions
01:17over Tim Mander's future.
01:19In the meantime, the Environment and Tourism Minister Andrew Powell will take over Mr Mander's
01:25ministerial duties of sport and the 2032 Games.
01:29There's also questions over when the Premier first found out about this referral by the AEC
01:34to the AFP.
01:36The ABC understands Mr Mander found out about the referral on Wednesday night but the Premier's
01:42office didn't find out until lunchtime Thursday when the issue broke in the media.
