JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - Presiden AS Donald Trump mengatakan Presiden China Xi Jinping menyampaikan negaranya ingin membantu upaya negosiasi untuk mengakhiri perang Iran dan membuka kembali Selat Hormuz bagi pengiriman minyak dunia.

Dalam wawancara dengan Fox News bersama Sean Hannity, Trump mengatakan Xi menyampaikan kesediaannya membantu jika diperlukan.

"Dia berkata, Saya ingin membantu, jika saya bisa membantu dengan cara apa pun," kata Trump, di lansir dari Fox News Channel/AP, Kamis (14/5/2026).

Trump menambahkan Xi juga ingin Selat Hormuz tetap terbuka karena jalur tersebut sangat penting bagi perdagangan energi global.

Namun sebelum berangkat untuk kunjungan kenegaraan ke Beijing, Trump menegaskan Amerika Serikat tidak membutuhkan bantuan China untuk menyelesaikan konflik tersebut.

Trump juga mengklaim Xi memastikan China tidak akan memasok peralatan militer kepada Iran.

"Dia mengatakan tidak akan memberikan perlengkapan militer. Itu pernyataan besar," ujar Trump.
