00:00Hey guys, it's Mian, and this is Beauty With Me.

00:02For those of you who don't know, I'm a beauty writer here at Refinery29.

00:05It's what I do other than doing this show.

00:08And last year, I did a story where I tried 30 different makeup trends

00:12over a month and a half long period.

00:14I decided to recreate the experiment.

00:16This week, we're going to do seven different trends

00:19from the red carpet, from Instagram, and from Fashion Week.

00:21Some of them are really simple.

00:22Some of them are really crazy.

00:25I'm going to save the best, most outrageous one for last.

00:28So before we get into it, make sure you subscribe down below

00:32so that we can hang out every single Monday.

00:34Beauty With Me comes out every Monday at 11 a.m.

00:37And without further ado, let's get on to day one.

00:41Day one is glossy lids inspired by makeup artist Celine Bernards,

00:46one of my favorite, favorite makeup artists on Instagram.

00:49I started by taking my Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette.

00:52I used a flat eyeshadow brush to put a layer of amber and saffron onto my lids.

00:59Then I used a fluffy blending brush to blend it out.

01:03Then I tightlined my eyes using my Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon

01:08in the shade Blacker, just to give my lashes a little bit more oomph.

01:12Next, I followed up with a new mascara, actually.

01:15It's by CoverGirl.

01:16It's called the Peacock Flare Mascara.

01:18It is in the waterproof formulation.

01:20Then comes the fun part, the gloss.

01:23I used the Glossier Lip Gloss.

01:25It's a great lip gloss to use on the eyes

01:27because it has a very ultra shiny, almost glass-like finish.

01:32So I just took it out of the tube and using the doe foot applicator,

01:35I put a bit of the product onto the back of my hand.

01:38Then I used a finger to just layer the gloss on top of my matte eye

01:42until I was happy with the amount of shine.

01:44I finished off the look with a layer of my Kat Von D Steaded Kiss Cream Lipstick

01:49in the shade Lolita 2, which is a beautiful, matte, creamy nude.

01:53I know that my lips are very dry right now,

01:56so please excuse any of the flakes.

02:02I loved this look.

02:04It was a really great way to start off my seven days of trends.

02:07I've been wanting to wear a glossy eye all over the lid all day for a while now,

02:12and I'm glad that I finally did it, although I will say glossy eyes,

02:16despite how easy they are to do, are really annoying to maintain throughout the day.

02:22If you wear eyeglass, your eyeshadow is going to crease.

02:25It is going to melt a little bit.

02:27Even though it was annoying, I really enjoyed the look.

02:29I would definitely wear it again.

02:32Day 2 is the Glitter Cut Crease, inspired by my friend Mariam,

02:36who is an influencer on Instagram.

02:37I started with the CoverGirl Micro Fine & Define Brow Pencil in the shade Soft Brown

02:42to beef up my brows.

02:44Apart from the glitter cut crease, Mariam did a really gorgeous halo eye.

02:49So I grabbed my Milani Obsessions eyeshadow palette

02:52and laid down a base of this matte mid-tone brown shade.

02:56Then I took the matte black shade in the palette

02:59and applied it to the inner and outer thirds of my eye,

03:01making sure to keep a little sliver of bare lid in the center.

03:06I grabbed the silver and the navy blue metallic shadows in the palette

03:10and mixed them and tapped them onto the center of my lid with my finger

03:13and then blended it out.

03:14Then I moved on to eyeliner.

03:16I grabbed my black pencil eyeliner

03:18and traced that on my bottom lash line

03:21and smoked it out with the same mid-tone matte brown eyeshadow.

03:25To finish off the liner, I grabbed my Dior liquid liner in black

03:29and did a little cat eye.

03:30And then for the fun part, I grabbed my glitter.

03:34I used the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in the shade Glamrock.

03:38I used that to draw a small cut crease.

03:42So it actually wasn't a full cut crease,

03:44but it did stop kind of in the center

03:45and it still gave the illusion of having a cut crease there.

03:49After the glitter finished drying,

03:50I grabbed the Ardell Magnetic Accents lashes.

03:54I didn't actually use them the way they're intended to be.

03:56They like adhere on their own without glue,

03:59but I actually just wanted to use them as normal lashes.

04:02So I used some duo lash glue,

04:03apply it to the lash band,

04:05let that dry,

04:06and then I stuck them on my lid and they laid down so easily.

04:10I finished off the look with a little bit of the Marc Jacobs Liquid Highlighter

04:14and then some of my Kat Von D Sutted Cream Lipstick in Lolita 2.

04:21Although I wouldn't do this look every single day,

04:24I would definitely wear it again, maybe just without the eyelashes.

04:27I don't understand how people wear false eyelashes every day.

04:30I could not wait to take them off.

04:32It was a very dramatic experience, but still.

04:34All in all, I think I liked it though.

04:38Day 3 is Monochromatic Gold Highlighter inspired by Rihanna's Fenty Beauty Launch.

04:44I reached for my Milani Bold Obsessions eyeshadow palette,

04:47which if you can't tell, I am obsessed with.

04:50I just used the mid-tone brown shade in my crease just to blend things out

04:53before I used an eyeshadow brush to brush the highlighter onto my lid as eyeshadow.

04:58The highlighter itself is super pigmented,

05:00so it's a gorgeous gold that you can kind of wear everywhere.

05:03And then I used the same highlighter with a dense highlighter brush

05:07and dusted the color on my cheekbones and up into my temples.

05:12It was kind of intense, but I blended it out, left it alone,

05:15and tight-lined my eyes with some of my black eyeliner pencil

05:18and finished off with some mascara and lip gloss.

05:22This lip gloss is so beautiful.

05:25The thick doe foot applicator makes it really easy to slap the gloss onto your lips.

05:31So this looks pretty simple,

05:33but I do think that if I were to do it again I wouldn't go so intense with the gold

05:40shade.

05:41I think in the future I would go for a sheerer layer and then do the same thing on the

05:45eyes.

05:45I love the eyeshadow on the eyes,

05:46but I've seen Rihanna do the same kind of draped highlighter technique with purple highlighter,

05:51and I love that look, so I might try that one next.

05:56Day four is two-toned lips inspired by Cousine Ayotte's Spring 2017 Fashion Show.

06:02The makeup artist was Sammy Moribut.

06:04All the models were wearing a shimmery taupe shade on the lid,

06:07so I used the same Milani palette in the shade Suede side to side all over the lid

06:11and blended that into my crease using the matte mid-tone brown shade.

06:15Then I finished off the eyes with a couple of coats of my Shiseido Full Lash Multi-Dimension Mascara

06:22in Waterproof and moved on to the lips.

06:24I grabbed my Cap-on-D lipstick in the shade Underage Red and applied that to the top lip.

06:32Now this is where things get hairy.

06:34It is a little bit difficult to resist the urge to smack and rub your lips together

06:39when you're doing a two-tone lip.

06:40You can't do that!

06:42And then you have to remove it with a wipe, which I did.

06:45I used my Rodin lipstick in the shade Winx,

06:48and then I just slicked the color onto my bottom lip,

06:50and then again, you're going to want to rub your lips together, but you can't!

06:56Then I tapped a little bit of Marc Jacobs Gel Highlighter onto my cheeks

07:00just to gloss it up a little bit, and then I went on with my day.

07:06Honestly, it was a very simple look.

07:08When you do smack your lips together, it's pink and red,

07:11so it actually became a nice little mixture of the shades.

07:14Nothing too crazy.

07:15Definitely would wear it again.

07:1610 out of 10 would recommend to a friend.

07:20Day 5 is Thumbprint Liner, inspired by Lady Gaga's Grammys 2017 makeup look by Sarah Nicole Tana.

07:28I started off by using my Marc Jacobs Scandalous eyeshadow palette,

07:32and I used the matte burgundy eyeshadow all over my lid as a base.

07:36Then I grabbed my Marc Jacobs eyeliner in the shade Fine Wine,

07:40and used that to create the shape of my rounded wing.

07:44I continued to create a round, half-circle shape upward toward my eyebrow,

07:50and then brought the color back down to my eyelashes.

07:53Then I filled in the rest of the rounded liner using the same eyeliner pencil,

07:57and then set it with the same Marc Jacobs eyeshadow.

08:01Then I moved on to the other eyeshadows.

08:03So I grabbed the metallic burnt orange-y shade and tapped that onto the center of my lid.

08:09I grabbed my Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter in the shade Midnight Cowboy,

08:13and dipped the brush into another gold glitter that had a little bit more of an orange tone.

08:19I applied that to my lid, and it created a little bit more of a burnt orange-y gold.

08:23For my inner corner, I used the same Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palette and tapped a shimmery cream eyeshadow

08:29into the inner corners of my eyes, then followed up with the same Marc Jacobs red eyeliner on my lower

08:36lash line,

08:36and smoked that out using the matte burgundy shadow.

08:39Lady Gaga had a layer of kind of flesh-tone eyeliner on her waterline,

08:44so I grabbed this Dior cream-colored eyeliner and put that onto my waterline.

08:50To define my eyes, I used the Dior Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and created a teeny-tiny cat eye.

08:56To beef up my eyelashes, I used a few individual lashes.

09:01To blend the individual lashes in my normal lashes, I used my Shiseido Waterproof Mascara again,

09:06and finished off with the Bite Amuse Bouche Liquefied Lip in the shade Supreme.

09:13This look was really fun. It's definitely one that I would wear again.

09:16I'm really into burgundy shades. I love wearing glitter, so this look was definitely up my alley.

09:20I think I was a little scared of doing eyeliner that was round. I've never done it before,

09:25but I don't want to toot my own horn, but I think it came out pretty well.

09:31Day 6 is Cotton Candy Eyes inspired by Oscar de la Renta's Fall Winter 2017 makeup look by makeup artist

09:38Tom Pescher.

09:39So to create the baby blue that Bella has all over her lids, I actually mixed a couple of shades.

09:45So I used my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade Milk, just like a matte white,

09:49with my Kiko eyeshadow crayon in the shade 44.

09:53I put it all over my lid, blended it into my crease, and then I set it with a MAC

09:57eyeshadow in the shade Aqua.

10:00Then I used the MAC Chromographic Pencil in the shade Process Magenta to line my lids,

10:05and then topped it off with a Manic Panic eyeshadow in the shade Pussy Galore.

10:10Then I finished off the whole look with a layer of lip gloss.

10:16I love this look.

10:19I would wear it again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that.

10:22I love the combination, I love the pink liner with my pink hair.

10:26It's just gorgeous.

10:28And I think anyone can pull it off.

10:31And last but not least, Day 7 is Graphic Liner and Flash Tattoos inspired by Dior Haute Couture's 2018 show,

10:39the makeup was done by Peter Phillips.

10:41So I used the Dior Waterproof Liquid Liner, which was the brand they used in the show because it was

10:45Dior.

10:46I started off by creating a very basic black cat eye, but instead of stopping where I normally would,

10:51I extended the wing up and toward the tail of my brow.

10:55Then I created a reverse cat eye on my bottom lash line, starting just below my lashes,

11:02drawing it all the way down toward my eyebrows,

11:05and then created an elongated wing toward the tail of my brow as well,

11:09leaving some space between the cat eye on the top of my lid,

11:13and the reverse cat eye on my bottom lid.

11:15Then came the hard part.

11:17I had to create the little spikes on both sides of my eyeliner.

11:24So I used the same liquid liner.

11:25I drew an elongated triangle, starting at my lash line and extending into my crease.

11:31Then I repeated the same step a few times until I got to the end of my lid.

11:36Then I did pretty much the same thing on my bottom lash line, but the triangles themselves weren't as thick.

11:42I started at the inner corner of my eye and went all the way down to the tail end of

11:45the wing.

11:45Then to finish off the eyes, I used the Creme Dior Coal Liner on my inner corner of my eye,

11:52and then onto my waterline, and then in between the two wings.

11:56I repeated all those steps on my left eye.

11:59And by the end of it, I was very, very excited to be done with the look.

12:03I put a little bit of mascara on and topped off my lips with a little bit of gloss.

12:06But it wasn't even over then. There was more to the look.

12:09So I used some temporary tats from this brand called Tatly.

12:12I chose a set that says, Don't Just Stand There, which I thought would be appropriate

12:16because I was anticipating some weird looks when I wore this outside.

12:20So I just cut them into little pieces and stuck them on my collarbone.

12:25I tapped some water onto each of the tattoos and then lifted it off to reveal my message.

12:41After I finished the look, there was really nothing left to do but wear this look outside.

12:47This look was so out of my comfort zone.

12:50But honestly, the feedback I got from it was really positive.

12:53I went outside to Fashion Week, did a few things there.

12:56Some street style photographers actually wanted to take my picture.

12:59It was so cool.

13:00All in all, this experience was so fun.
