A new footbridge has been installed at Hither Green station in south east London as part of a major upgrade by Network Rail. The project aims to improve step free access and is due to be completed next summer.

00:09The structure was lifted into place using a 500-tonne crane and a 750-tonne crane across the railway lines.
00:17It will link all platforms with new entrances at Fernbrook Road and Springbank Road.
00:23The £28 million programme includes lifts, staircases and new passenger walkways.
00:29Network Rail says that the work will deliver step-free access from street level across the station.
00:35The lifting took place on Saturday.
00:37The project is due for completion next summer and is expected to improve journeys for all passengers.
