00:03it's good to speak with people who love Jesus and maybe those who do not
00:07let us dive into the text today I want to talk about a love that refuses to quit
00:13yes we're talking about the love of God today
00:16I want to ask the question what would it take for you to walk away from someone
00:22you love maybe deep deep betrayal you might walk
00:28away from them maybe deep deep rejection that we don't just all the time they
00:34just kept on reject you after kept on rejecting you after causing you pain
00:37after pain maybe it would be abuse they abused you just way too much took you
00:43just for granted and used you up maybe that will cause you to say oh I got put
00:48some distance between you and I well I want to talk about what it took for
00:53Jesus to walk away what would it take for Jesus to walk away from me and the
00:59answer according to Romans 5 is nothing could cause Jesus to walk away from us
01:06oh let's look at the text for when we were yet without strength in due time
01:11Christ died for the ungodly for scarcely for a righteous man one will die yet per
01:18adventure for a good man some would even dare to die but God commended his love
01:23towards us and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us so this text
01:29talks about the helpless condition of man it says for when we were without
01:35strength we had nothing we were when we were absolutely hopeless to reach God
01:41helpless to reach God when it was impossible for us to reach God meaning we had no power
01:48to change ourselves we have nothing righteous to offer to God we had no
01:55inclination there was a time where I wasn't even thinking about God I remember when I was
02:0017 years old and someone came to me talking about Jesus and all I could think about is
02:05man I wish this God would get away from me man I wish this God would go away I don't
02:11care I got some better things to do I was on my way to commit some sin and I was
02:16like
02:16uh-uh uh-uh man you wasted my time that stuff is boring I remember the time where I was
02:21without
02:21strength I had no I had no strength I wasn't caring about God there was nothing that was
02:27going to cause me to reach out for God and it was at this point when we were in utter
02:33helplessness
02:34that God acted he took initiative to demonstrate his love in coming after us meaning that God offers
02:44the love that no man can God offers the love that does not depend on the recipient's ability
02:51to respond back uh when I could not love him back he said I'm coming I'm still reaching for you
02:57I care
02:57for you I'm going to help you I'm coming to aid you and assist you I'm coming to bring you
03:02towards me
03:03oh look at this love that God has this text talks about the limit of human love it says that
03:09scarcely
03:10for a righteous person somebody would die yet for adventure for a good man somebody even
03:15dare to die some may die if you are righteous and if you're good and you have a great cause
03:21and they admire you and all that kind of stuff some would probably dare to die maybe it's a very
03:26rare
03:27thing I don't know if anybody that would die for me but it's a very rare thing it does happen
03:33sometimes but Christ uh when we were yet rebellious when we were yet rejecting him Christ said I'm on
03:41my way I'm coming to die he said I'm offering myself freely for people who reject me betray me
03:47who who violate me I'm offering myself freely no man would do that there is nobody who would die for
03:52you while you're rejecting and betraying them uh Christ said but I'm coming for you while you reject me
03:58he came up on the cross while he knew I was rejecting him and while he knew I was betraying
04:03him he said nothing's gonna stop me from coming your way human love calculates the risk of loving
04:10somebody I'm not gonna love you if it's grist me too much that's human love oh human love says if
04:16it's not worth my love I'm not gonna risk it I'm not why I put myself at odds I don't
04:21want to go
04:22through all that and if there's nothing in return human love says uh it pulls back and it recoils
04:28but God's love doesn't recoil on us like human love God's love does not hesitate on us like humans
04:35love humans are reluctant to love us unless they deem us as valuable and lovable but God freely and
04:42decisively moves towards us in his love while we were yet evil while we were yet wicked he did what
04:52no
04:52man would ever do this love is unique the thing about Christ's love is he has an unconquered heart
05:01Christ still commended his love towards us meaning that he proved his love towards us meaning he publicly
05:07displayed his love here's how he publicly displayed his love see the ugliness of sin was upon us and
05:14Christ seen it and said I'm still coming the ugliness of rebellion was all over us we was
05:20rebelling against his name and Christ said I'm still coming to the cross for you the ugliness of the pain
05:25of betrayal even though you hurt me I'm still gonna die ah none of this overcame Christ's heart
05:34Christ's love outlasted agony it was agony for him to go to the cross it was painful for him to
05:42go to
05:43the cross Christ's suffering that Christ was gonna face that did not redirect him some of us will be
05:49like man it's too much suffering to love these people they seen the cross and it's like oh man
05:53that's the cost oh the cost of suffering did not redirect Christ rejection even though men were
06:01rejecting him as he was going to the cross men were rejecting him but Christ said I will not let
06:07rejection stop me I will let not I will not let sin harden me I will not let suffering redirect
06:13me
06:13I'm still on my way uh look at the glove of Christ for you look at the depth and the
06:19width and the height
06:20of the love of God God did not retreat on you you ought to thank God that he did not
06:26harden his heart
06:27he didn't he didn't let it harden his heart and say oh I gotta reconsider this no no no no
06:30no the
06:31reason why we have a chance at salvation is because pain did not cause Christ to retreat agony did not
06:40cause Christ to escape it was love that held him on that cross for you giving you a way for
06:46redemption
06:46it was love that kept him this is the true this is the truest love at its ultimate form the
06:53bible said
06:53there is no greater love than he that laid his life down for a friend love held him the cross
06:59is
06:59proof of true love that love is stronger than sin love is stronger than pain love is stronger than
07:08betrayal love is stronger than death and he is our example my question to you is who is that that's
07:14causing you pain that's rejecting you oh that want nothing to do with you that is turning a back on
07:20you
07:21and treating you as if you're absolutely nothing can you keep on loving them though it costs you
07:26though they cannot love you back without any promise of return can you keep on loving them
07:31oh or do you turn your back on them will you love people with the heart of Christ or will
07:37you love
07:37people with the heart of men lord help us to love like you love in jesus name we pray and
07:42say amen
07:47now we just heard the word let's take the word let's live this word out things turn out differently
07:54and god changes us when we walk this word the word will work in your life if you work it
08:01and may god
