00:04Good to be with people that love to hear the Word of God. Let us dive into the message for
00:09the day.
00:10Today, if I had a title for today's message, it would be called,
00:13Stop Camping in the Place Where God Has Already Passed Through. There are many believers that
00:21are forgiven. They're saved, but they're still stuck in the past, still stuck in past memories.
00:28They keep on rehearsing what God has already released them from. Hurtful memories, painful
00:35memories, things that are traumatizing. God has released them from it, but they keep on rehearsing
00:40it, rehearsing it, rehearsing it, and today we're talking about no longer living in that place.
00:46There is a place that God has delivered you from that you keep revisiting. In that mental place,
00:52God is saying, don't live there anymore. Let us dive into the text.
00:57Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do
01:03a new thing. Now and it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? God has commanded them,
01:11telling them not to live in the past. It's not saying heal from your past. It's saying stop
01:16living there. You might not be fully healed from your past, but you don't have to live there. Even
01:24though I'm not fully healed, I don't live there. Remembering your past can be similar to rehearsing
01:31it over and over and over. It's rehearsing it all the time. Considering your past is like camping out
01:38there. God said stop doing that. He's not saying don't remember what happened, but he's saying quit
01:43fixating on it. Rehearsing failure, rehearsing pain, rehearsing regret. Quit. Even past victories,
01:50all of this can be an anchor. It can be, it can anchor you to your past. God said, I
01:56don't want
01:56you to be anchored there anymore. God is divinely interrupting this fixation. He says, behold,
02:03I do a new thing. When we talk about the word behold, we're talking about a divine interruption.
02:09Behold, look up here. Look at what I'm doing now. Behold. I want your attention. This is a turning
02:16point word. I want you to turn your head from what your past and turn your head to what I'm
02:22doing now.
02:22Behold, I am doing a new thing. It demands your head to move, your focus to move. God wants your
02:29focus to shift to what he's doing right now. He's trying to break mental fixations of his people.
02:39God said, you cannot behold forward what I'm doing in your future. If you continue to look back,
02:46I want you to shift from the memories of your past to the expectations of what I'm going to do
02:54next.
02:56Lord, God is telling his people, I'm calling you forward. I am a forward moving God. Your God is
03:03a moving God and he wants us to move with him. God wants us to pay attention to what he's
03:09doing now.
03:09What I'm doing now is going to call for your attention. You're going to fixate it. You're
03:14going to try to get your mind around it. I'm doing a new thing. Behold, I will do a new
03:19thing.
03:20Now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it? Shall you not perceive what I'm doing? I want
03:26your attention on it so much that you perceive what I am doing. Faith is noticing God at work.
03:33God said, I want you to notice me as I walk in your future, as I walk in your present.
03:38I don't want
03:39you to be focused on what went on back then. I want you to be focused on how I'm walking
03:43in your
03:43life right now and what I'm doing in your future. Lord, help us. God is telling his people, I want
03:49new obedience from you and new obedience is going to require new attention. Focus that attention on
03:57over here. Oh, you can need some new attention for this new obedience that I'm going to need from you
04:01because I'm doing a new thing. God is reassigning their focus. Take your focus away from the past
04:09and put it on the present. Lord, help us to do this. This is how we move with God. Help
04:16us God to
04:16stop camping in a place where you have already passed through and look at the place where you
04:22are going next. We ask your help in this in Jesus name. We pray and say, amen.
04:31Well, we have heard the word of God. And if you are struggling like we all do, do not give
04:38up.
