00:52for or not it depends on which side i'm on honestly if i was struggling yeah i actually would because

01:09justin hill there on screen he was one of the quickest in qualifying today let's go heat one
01:14four fifties dylan fran has got a reasonable start right in the middle of the screen so did justin cooper
01:19but how about jorge prado on the red bull ktm he's just ahead of chase sexton yeah he's been
01:26not nailing those starts all year long and a great run through the rip uh whoop sexton right there ricky
01:31yeah i mean he has been fantastic he's always been a great starter his whole career especially getting
01:37back onto this red bull factory ktm machine and i think outside of the starts and his riding i would
01:44say overall his whoop performance compared to last year has been super super impressive
01:50had a coming together with cooper webb last weekend in denver and he just said well i don't i don't
01:57really
01:58take any of that responsibility it was kind of cooper webb ran into me and he didn't shy away from
02:03that statement he's he's ready to race again and it's good to see him get yet another it's kind of
02:09crazy to talk about building when you talk about a multiple time motocross world champion but he is
02:15he's still in the building phase of the supercross side of his career yeah and it's so different from
02:20where he came from and even just the obviously the format the the time all the jumps but man he
02:26is
02:26really elevated there was a lot of pressure on jorge coming into this season you know switching from
02:31kawasaki last year going to ktm really put all of it on himself and um he has really performed um
02:37this
02:38year 100 percent i'll tell you i did i didn't anticipate him doing as well as he did because as
02:44he was putting all that pressure on yourself as you know james i mean that's tough to do especially at
02:49this level and another thing remember he got hurt and then he came back and still was super impressive
02:55like he never missed a race yeah nice he's been solid missed two races he's 10th in points you've
03:02got chase sexton all over him so for the guys who aren't in this championship fight the likes of the
03:07ones we're seeing on screen right here what what is the goal tonight in addition to trying to win the
03:13main event just finish the supercross portion of the year on the highest possible note oh that was
03:18close with jorge trying to get over that sand no i actually think there's still a lot of motivation
03:22for a guy like jorge and even chase sexton my brother you know but particularly these two because
03:28they they do feel like this pro motocross that's going to start in a couple weeks that they'll be a
03:32championship contender for that and then so i know they got 94 96 those two going for the championship
03:39but at the same time i i think those guys are really here to play there's a lot to race
03:43for for
03:44those two guys 100 guys that could possibly get their first win like the man you're watching right
03:49now number 32. justin cooper plenty capable of coming out and winning here tonight he's been so
03:56close so many times he's had good speed and it's just came up a bit short
04:04yeah i'd like to see though justin he's been getting better and better and it always seems like
04:08you get to these hard pack racetrack i talked about this you know last year a little bit during
04:13outdoors but just the way his bike's set up necessarily more of a privateer they don't have some of the
04:18factory stuff which makes their bike closer to stock which makes a little bit softer and i think
04:22that really helps a guy like justin cooper because clearly clearly excuse me when you watch him go
04:28through the whoops and compared to these guys this bike's a little bit more compliant look good out
04:32there getting a little more spicy at the front here chase sexton has closed that gap to jorge prado
04:37yeah he's reeling it in looks like the 26 of prado been getting a little bit of wheel spin there
04:43in the
04:44whoops jt yeah and just you know it is really slippery to your point but watching chase sexton
04:50here let's keep in mind this guy has won this race three years in a row now there's no chase
04:55sexton coming in but these races often have surprise winners because there's so much pressure on the
05:00leaders that a guy we're not thinking about comes in and tries to win and he's trying to win this
05:04heat
05:04race boys look at this inside move with authority from chase sexton to the lead prado tries to respond
05:11but simply cannot i'm gonna tell you what that was a pretty good pass there by the four and 26
05:17can
05:18definitely ride a wide bike and if he gets a whole shot in that main event you better keep your
05:24eyes
05:24on him because i think that and i hope this isn't the case but he could play a part and
05:29maybe what goes
05:30down great job by the number four though of chase sexton to make that pass perfectly up the inside
05:37anticipating jorge closing the door and look when we talk about in this final race of the supercross
05:43portion of the season what is there to race for well for chase sexton and team kawasaki there's still
05:49a lot to work for because he's been working and trying harder the team's been working and trying
05:54harder just to try and find james that perfect balance yeah no absolutely and i think that pass by
05:59jorge kind of told you that um and at the same time these two guys switched teams you know jorge
06:04was on
06:04that kawasaki as what chase is on and chase is on that ktm so there's probably a little bit more
06:08motivation seeing that happen but good to see the number four still a great ride by jorge and now he's
06:15going to have to deal with justin cooper if he closes up a little bit
06:26jorge putting in some good oh makes a mistake that's going to help cooper watch justin cooper he's
06:32selected to start jumping through the whoops probably a good play right now because of how
06:36slick they are pole disposition he's able to work through that inside right there justin's made up a
06:43lot of time on these certainly on prado sex is starting to pull away here yeah i think that that
06:52jumping is probably going to come into play because those whoops look more challenging now
06:56for all these guys it's really slippery and i think the cutoff point i say the cutoff point they're
07:01the breaking point to where you do glitz or you do jump is going to be dependent upon the drive
07:07that
07:07you can get through there if they get slick like we're telling you right now it's probably going to
07:11be best to jump because you're going to get better drive through there so we're inside the last two laps
07:19now chase sexton as jt mentioned earlier has won the last three years here in salt lake city well let's
07:26see if this trend continues for chase sexton because he won three heats in a row he's out in front
07:31here
07:31that'll make four heats in a row here in salt lake city and the previous three have all led to
07:36those
07:36wins so great start to the day for chase sexton so far i think james right there that was great

07:42we're able to see both jorge blitz and justin cooper jump you got a perspective of which is faster and
07:48right now i do think that blitzing is just maybe half a bike link quicker yeah no i agree with

07:53switched this lineup he went down to inside and the reason why i think he got a good run because

07:58a lot of people going through there and you probably only can get there to through that side of the
08:02section in a 450 compared to the 250 you don't have enough power nonetheless good run good to see the
08:09number four he's been looking pretty good all day he's gotten better these last few races and this is
08:13going to help him out for that main event yeah sure is through the sand section for the final time
08:19and this will be the third heat win of the year for chase sexton
08:26almost there nicely done yep just like that had to work hard to get by jorge prado
08:32who rode very well the second just ahead of justin cooper but nice heat win to kawasaki's chase sexton
