00:02A federal court has struck down President Trump's latest global tariffs push.
00:07On Thursday, a three-judge panel of the Court of International Trade in New York
00:12ruled Trump's 10% global tariffs are illegal after a group of small businesses sued.
00:18Trump put the new tariffs in place after the Supreme Court blocked his broader
00:22Liberation Day tariffs earlier this year.
00:25In a two-to-one decision, the court said Trump overstepped his authority,
00:29calling the tariffs, quote, invalid and unauthorized by law.
00:32The Trump administration is expected to appeal,
00:35and the case could ultimately head back to the U.S. Supreme Court.
00:38Also Thursday, a federal judge ruled Elon Musk's Department of Government Deficiency
00:43cuts to humanities grants were unconstitutional.
00:47The case centers on more than $100 million in canceled grants
00:51through the National Endowment for the Humanities.
00:54The judge said Doge, quote,
00:55blatantly used race, gender and other protected characteristics
00:59in deciding which grants to terminate.
01:02The judge then issued a permanent block on the cuts.
01:05It's not yet clear whether the Trump administration will appeal the ruling.
