00:02A federal judge has extended her block on the Trump administration's plan to cut down trees
00:07at a historic public golf course. Judge Ana Reyes ruled Monday that the government can't
00:12remove or damage any more trees at East Potomac Golf Links while a lawsuit over the renovation
00:17moves forward. Hundreds of trees have already been cut down. And in her ruling, Reyes even
00:23brought back a Dr. Seuss reference from an earlier hearing. She wrote, quote,
00:27The court earlier stated, I am not the Lorax. I do not speak for the trees. The court still does
00:33not speak for the trees. It only speaks for the rule of law. The judge also ordered the government
00:38to give 10 days notice before making any irreversible changes to the course. President
00:43Trump called the ruling unconstitutional and said his administration would appeal.
00:47He also said the course will still close November 15th as planned.
