00:00But what a fight we have with Joshua Vann and Tesoro Tyra for the championship.
00:07And one of these instances, again, Tom, where, you know, second time in a little while,
00:11like in a month or so that you and I have talked about a fight where the favorite,
00:16the champion's not the favorite, right?
00:18So a unique situation.
00:21Vann is the champ, but Tyra's actually the favorite.
00:25And they're both so similar in their career paths, basically.
00:29Like, they both have the same amount of fights.
00:31You know, Japan, Myanmar, same type of, you know, they both lost once.
00:38They both actually got a championship fight, I saw, like, in their 10th career fight, actually.
00:43Just a badass fight.
00:45I don't know if Vann is being punished a little bit because Pantoja got hurt when he won the fight,
00:51but he's still, like, a killer, bro, like, for everybody.
00:54Like, he won six straight.
00:55He's won nine of his last 10 fights.
00:57And then you get Tyra, who, speaking of Strickland, I saw a video of them together.
01:03And Strickland was like, yeah, this guy's, like, going to be the champ, man.
01:05This guy's, like, awesome and stuff.
01:07And Tyra really is just a phenom, badass fighter who's won six of his eight fights inside the distance.
01:16What do you think of this fight, man?
01:17Because this is an awesome one.
01:20It is an awesome one.
01:21And it's really tough to break down because I feel like in the public's eye,
01:28Josh Vann is getting punished for the way he won the title.
01:33But, you know, it's not his fault.
01:35I mean, he went into the fight.
01:37He knocked a guy to the ground with a, you know, he picked his leg up and, you know,
01:42dumped him over, and the guy broke his arm.
01:44I'm like, what can you do about that?
01:46But that's part of the fight.
01:47Exactly.
01:49And he is really good.
01:51His cardio is insane.
01:52I mean, he's a better third, fourth, fifth-round fighter than he is first-round fighter.
01:58And Tyra is awesome.
02:00I mean, he's going to have a bit of a size advantage here, which, you know,
02:04can make it a little bit more difficult for Vann to get in and, you know,
02:08to get that volume off without.
02:10Tyra looked big earlier in the week, man,
02:13and, like, he's going to gain weight after the weight cut and all this, too.
02:16He already looked big.
02:17He's a big kid.
02:18Big kid for the division.
02:20Going to have a sizable reach advantage.
02:22I mean, I don't know how much that's really going to play into it.
02:25You know, we've seen Vann fight some taller guys.
02:27No, you're right about that.
02:28You know, he did get knocked out by one of the taller guys in the division,
02:32but to me that was kind of more of a –
02:34Smaller dudes are used to fighting taller dudes, too, right?
02:36Yeah, exactly.
02:37They always do.
02:38Yeah, exactly.
02:40I think this is going to be a razor-close fight.
02:42I mean, Tyra, extremely good grappler.
02:45If you could knock Vann for anything, it would be his grappling.
02:49But, I mean, this kid to me, I said it like three or four fights ago.
02:52I said the kid's a prodigy.
02:53I mean, he's been fighting for four years now.
02:57You know, he started training like five years ago,
02:59and he's just come on really strong.
03:01So he gets better fight to fight.
03:03His grappling has improved greatly.
03:05I mean, we saw him fight a grappler a few fights ago whose number one goal was to take him
03:10down,
03:10and he just couldn't do it.
03:11He shucked all those takedowns.
03:14With that said, I mean, Tyra is a more well-rounded, more polished number one grappler and striker than that
03:22kid.
03:22I can't remember the kid's name.
03:24It was another Japanese fighter who's just, you know, strictly mostly a grappler.
03:28So there's more threat with Tyra, and I expect Tyra to have a lot of success in the grappling.
03:35But when it all comes down to it, I mean, I think it's a razor-close fight.
03:38And honestly, in a fight like this that's so close where Van could really turn it on late,
03:44I mean, I don't mind taking the shot here.
03:46He's the dog.
03:46He's the champ.
03:47Got a bit of a chip on his shoulder because he is kind of disrespected coming into this one
03:51based on the way he got the title.
03:54So, you know, I have to – I'm going to roll with Van here.
03:58So it's a very tough, tough matchup, and I can see why Tyra is the favorite.
04:04But I can also see Van getting the job done, and I just think it's going to be real close
04:09all the way down.
04:10I like the over three-and-a-half here, too.
04:12This is another total.
04:13So the total is three-and-a-half in that fight.
04:15I always talk about it, a toss-up fight that, you know, you're getting – if you're getting points, et
04:20cetera,
04:21in a toss-up game, toss-up fight, and you're getting an underdog and a guy that is the champion.
04:25And as we stated, he has to have a chip on his shoulder knowing that he's the underdog here as
04:30well.
