00:11The little girl was last seen on the 25th of April and her body was found five days later in
00:17Alice Springs following a wide-scale search.
00:20This move today by Minister Carl, the minister responsible for child protective services in the Northern Territory, comes just days
00:28after we heard that she stood down three department staffers after an investigation into the circumstances of Kuminjai little baby
00:37prior to her alleged abduction and alleged murder.
00:42Minister Carl today said the full scope of the review will be announced early next week.
00:48However, what she can say is that it will look at the whole system.
00:51It will look at the culture, the practices and the law in place in terms of child protection in the
00:57Northern Territory.
00:59The review will be conducted by an independent body or person who is an expert in domestic and family violence.
01:07Today we've heard federal member Marion Scrimgeour has supported Minister Carl's moves for this review.
01:14She's said there's a need for truth-telling here and that there's a need to look at what she says
01:20are failures of the system.
01:22The full scope of the review is set to be announced on Monday next week.
