00:00I should mention as well of course you know this Ted Turner dying today at the age of 87. He
00:04was the OG media mogul. He founded CNN. He did a bunch of deals that kind of transformed the industry.
00:12Is there a new Ted Turner of 2026. I think it's more about platforms and less about people these days.
00:20I mean you think about the dominant media companies and it's YouTube you know it's Instagram it's tick tock. These
00:29platforms have become where media lives predominantly and then the rest of the media industry needs to catch up by
00:38building scale which of course you guys are covering extensively and we've seen a lot of that you know Paramount
00:44being a great example of that most recently.
00:46That trend needs to continue for even the Disney's of the world to keep up with these big players. So
00:53it's less about people. He's a legend. I remember watching the the Gulf War on CNN as a college student
01:01and just being blown away by you know 24-hour coverage of this and I think he should be talked
01:09about a lot because he was you know he was just a unique individual.
01:13I learned a lot about him through John Malone who I've worked with over the years and he's an extraordinary
01:19person.
