00:00From Hollywood, it's Jimmy Kimmel Live!
00:04Tonight, from the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks,
00:07head coach Mike McDonald, still in SkarsgĂĄrd,
00:10plus music from Brooke Cole with the Kletos!
00:15And now, Jimmy Kimmel!
00:32Hi there, everybody. I'm Jimmy. I'm the host of the show.
00:35Thank you for watching. Thank you for joining us here from Hollywood
00:43on a day where, I don't know, I don't think today is the day when we should have to work.
00:47Super Bowl is... The word un-American gets thrown around a lot lately.
00:51I cannot think of anything less American than being forced to get up at work in the morning after...
00:56I ate one of those whole big Costco-sized plastic containers of pretzels with the peanut butter in them.
01:02I ate the whole thing, and it's not right that I have to do this now.
01:07This is what Trump should be working on.
01:10Either make the day after the Super Bowl a holiday,
01:14and move the game this Saturday. It's too much.
01:16The Seattle Seahawks are the Super Bowl champions.
01:19They made short work of the New England Patriots last night.
01:22Quarterback Drake May became the second Drake in a row to take a beating at the Super Bowl.
01:28The Seahawks defense kept the temperature low.
01:32Most of the excitement last night came from the ads.
01:35It was maybe the weirdest year for Super Bowl commercials ever.
01:37There were, like, two beer commercials.
01:40The rest were for A.I., Jesus, and Mike Tyson telling you to eat apples.
01:45I think I even saw Lady Gaga in a Pokemon commercial.
01:49But that may have been when the edible kicked in. I really don't know for sure.
01:52My favorite commercial, easily, was the Dunkin' ad. You see that?
01:58Because they didn't invite Matt Damon to be in it.
02:00So it's good to see something positive happen for a change.
02:04Tonight, we have the brains behind the operation last night in Seattle.
02:08The head coach of the Seahawks, Mike McDonald, is nice enough to join us here.
02:13We've got all the fans lined up.
02:16And he's mingling with some of the shrubs from the halftime show.
02:19Mike will be with us shortly.
02:21As per tradition, the Super Bowl champions went to Disneyland today.
02:25You can see quarterback Sam Darnold and MVP Kenneth Walker III in the teacups.
02:31Now, that's what you want to do with two guys who partied all night.
02:33Put them in the teacups.
02:35The other big storyline was Bad Bunny, whose half-time performance...
02:42A tribute to the Spanish-speaking world, to culture.
02:47Bad Bunny got a bad review from our bad president, unfortunately.
02:51He wrote,
02:52The Super Bowl halftime show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst ever.
02:55It makes no sense, is an affront to the greatness of America,
02:59and doesn't represent our standards of success, creativity, or excellence.
03:03Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting,
03:08especially for young children that are watching from throughout the USA and around the world.
03:12This is a man who paid off a porn star who spanked him with his own face on a magazine.
03:19She spanked him.
03:20He's offended by the halftime.
03:22This is a guy who's okay with this being the release of the Epstein files.
03:27He's offended for the children.
03:29The MAGAverse was so hopping mad about Bad Bunny,
03:32it really is amazing how differently people can see the same thing.
03:36Half of us saw a heartwarming story of immigrants who had dreams to come to America,
03:41work hard, get married, grow up, raise families, sing, dance, play backgammon.
03:49The other half, it was like the movie 28 Days Later.
03:52It was a terrifying attack on humanity led by Jessica Alba.
03:58This organization, Turning Point USA, felt the need to put on an alternative halftime show,
04:03the all-American halftime show, headlined by Kid Rock, of course.
04:07They had high hopes for it.
04:08Ultimately, this might as well, they might as well just put on the
04:12Kristi Noem shoots her puppy bowl because this was not a good program.
04:17It went off with a lot of hitches.
04:19About a half an hour before kickoff, they posted update.
04:23Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to stream the all-American halftime show.
04:27So they directed everyone to watch it on YouTube, which I suspect was not an easy thing
04:32for most of the angry 75-year-old grandpas to figure out.
04:36Even Donald Trump didn't watch the Kid Rock halftime show.
04:40He watched Bad Bunny.
04:41He wanted to make sure he hated him as much as he thought he would, and he did.
04:45Someone shot this video of Trump watching the game at his hotel in Palm Beach,
04:49and you can see that's the monitor.
04:52He's got a bunch of people there, and he's joined at his table by none other than,
04:58you'll see here, Senator Lindsey Graham.
05:03That is what I wish on Donald Trump.
05:05An eternity of watching football halftime shows with Lindsey Graham,
05:10trying to pretend he's not excited to see Ricky Martin.
05:16Mr. President, I don't care for this at all. Ew.
05:21Unfortunately, Don and Lindsey missed out on a Kid Rock lip sync battle with himself.
05:25I guess they had some trouble with the pre-taped audio track,
05:29because Kid's lips were not exactly in step with Kid's music.
05:34This is one of the questions that don't have any answers.
05:37The midnight glancers in the top of his dancers.
05:39Again, it frees the course pattern of the beepers.
05:42The jeans with the 40s and the chicks with beepers.
05:45The northern lights and the southern comfort.
05:47And it don't even matter if you're paying for pressure.
05:55It's magical how he does that. It's really incredible.
05:58But this isn't in a nutshell. This is what they do.
06:01They complain about how bad everything is, and then they do it worse.
06:04And not only do they do it worse, they do it in jorts.
06:07Of course, the gang at Fox News thought it was great.
06:10And the executive team at Turning Point, they seemed happy with it, too.
06:15We're gonna do another halftime show for the country next year.
06:19So I'm breaking a little news here, Brian.
06:21We gotta do it for the country, and this was a massive success.
06:25Yeah, let's do that.
06:27Next year, it'll be Laura Trump with a Ted Nugent cover band.
06:31They've gotta do it for the country.
06:33Why deprive the country of another chance to see this?
06:45The bursts of fire were to remind everyone that we're still living in hell.
06:52It's also performative.
06:53Number one, if Bad Bunny had stopped by the White House to make nice with Donald Trump,
06:57like Nicki Minaj did, or Kanye West, or the village people,
07:01MAGA would have no problem with Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl.
07:03They'd pretend to love him, too. They'd be like,
07:06Tidemi pergunto! I love that one!
07:08But since Bad Bunny isn't a fan of Trump, since they knew that at halftime,
07:12there'd be a bunch of confused white people sitting on their couches going,
07:16what the hell is this?
07:18They decided to make it a thing.
07:19You know the things they always make to try to get us to forget about all the redacted names in
07:24the Epstein files,
07:25like trans Budweiser and gay M&Ms?
07:27They made it one of them.
07:28This was their gay M&Ms for 2026.
07:30And it worked, I guess.
07:32All the snowflakes were so upset they might have to listen to Spanish for eight minutes,
07:35they decided to make their own halftime show.
07:38And of course, like everything they do, it was a disaster.
07:41They couldn't stream it.
07:42They didn't get the rights.
07:43Kid Rock's lip sync was screwed up.
07:44And that's the other thing.
07:45Almost all the complaints about Bad Bunny were,
07:48you can't understand what he's saying.
07:49So who do they go to?
07:51Kid Rock.
07:52An artist whose most popular song is literally gibberish.
07:55Do you think Donald Trump knows what bah with the bah means?
08:00Kid Rock doesn't even know what that means.
08:04And listen, I'm not jumping on the bash Kid Rock bandwagon.
08:09I don't like what he says either.
08:11But he's talented.
08:12I've seen him perform.
08:13He puts on a fun show.
08:14I don't want to get into that.
08:15This is not Kid Rock versus Bad Bunny.
08:17I mean, think about how dumb that sounds.
08:19This is not that.
08:19You can like one of them.
08:20You can like the other.
08:21You can like neither.
08:22You can like both.
08:22This is about the fact that everything has to be something.
08:26Now, we have to take a side on every...
08:28This week, almost every liberal I know
08:30suddenly really into Bad Bunny.
08:32I mean, people I've never heard say the words
08:35bad or bunny in their lives.
08:37Like, I can't wait for Bad Bunny.
08:39Oh.
08:41What's your...
08:44What's your favorite Bad Bunny song?
08:46I don't know, but I love them.
08:47I love Bad Bunny.
08:49Here's the thing about me.
08:50Did I know any of the songs Bad Bunny was singing?
08:53Absolutely not.
08:54Never heard even one second of one of them.
08:56Did I understand any of what he was singing?
08:59Yes.
09:00The word Nunca.
09:00That was it.
09:02But since when?
09:03Do we need to know what the singers are saying?
09:06Michael Jackson, maybe the greatest Super Bowl performance
09:09of all time was like, Shamon, Shamon, you know it.
09:12I didn't know it.
09:13Nobody knew it.
09:15We didn't know it then.
09:1633 years later, we still don't know what the hell that means.
09:20But that's the point.
09:21It doesn't matter.
09:22It's the halftime show at a football game.
09:25I don't know all the words.
09:28I don't...
09:29I don't know all the words to any song.
09:32I don't even know the words to songs I know all the words to.
09:35When I do karaoke, I see the lyrics on the screen,
09:37I'm like, I'm often shocked.
09:40Words I've been singing for 40, sometimes 50 years are wrong.
09:44I recently found out it's not wrapped up like a douche,
09:47another roller in the night.
09:49So stop with...
09:50This is not about excluding people.
09:52It's the opposite of that.
09:53English has had a lot of at bats over the last 60 years of Super Bowls.
09:57It's been a long run since, come on, shake your body, baby, do that conga.
10:01The biggest artist in the world is Bad Bunny.
10:04So maybe let Spanish have a turn for once.
10:09Right, Guillermo?
10:10Right, Guillermo.
10:11Yes, Guillermo.
10:11Did you like the show?
10:12I did. I love it. It was great.
10:14Were you going crazy watching the TV?
10:16Yeah, it was fantastic. I was going like this. Yeah.
10:18Yeah.
10:19It made Guillermo happy.
10:22Maybe that alone should make it worth it.
10:24Do you...
10:25I mean, listen.
10:27Do you understand how much white, non-white people have had to sit through in these Super Bowls?
10:41That was the Super Bowl in 1980, not 1955.
10:47I think we can all agree that could have used some twerking, okay?
10:50One of the most entertaining moments on the field last night did not make it to TV.
10:54During the fourth quarter, a shirtless individual got loose on the field and ran wild.
11:01Ran pretty fast until Patriots wide receiver Kyle Williams slowed him down.
11:05Ironically, that guy ran for more yards than Kyle and the Patriots did combined the entire first half.
11:13That may have happened during a commercial break. I'm not...
11:16There were a lot of confusing moments last night.
11:18Did you see the commercial that started with the lyrics to the Backstreet Boys?
11:21Rock your body.
11:23Is this the whole app?
11:24Yeah.
11:26Everybody.
11:28Rock your body.
11:34That's what happened at my house, too.
11:36Is it good when the viewers boo your product at the end of an ad you paid $10 million for?
11:42One notable legend of the Patriots was not at the game.
11:46Eight-time winning coach Bill Belichick decided to spend the weekend with his grand...
11:50I mean, girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, at the University of North Carolina basketball game.
11:55Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson were at the UNC game last night.
11:58And Belichick hasn't spoken about his Hall of Fame snub, but Hudson's shirt here sent a message.
12:03TMZ posted these photos of Hudson wearing an Orchids of Asia day spa shirt.
12:08Orchids of Asia is the spa tied to Robert Kraft's 2019 prostitution charges.
12:15Come on, that was funny. You have to give her that.
12:18Maybe she shouldn't be the one mocking an old man in an embarrassing sexual situation, but you do have to
12:24give her that.
12:25Speaking of embarrassing, I'm sure you either saw or heard about the vile post Trump reposted on Truth Social depicting
12:32the Obamas as apes and...
12:38Oh, you guys didn't like that? Yeah.
12:39Plenty has been said about it. It's just hard to believe he's the president.
12:43And at first, the White House blamed the staffer, but then they changed the story, probably when they realized the
12:49staffer was the president.
12:50And then he said he gave the okay to post it, but didn't post it himself, but didn't watch the...
12:56Whatever the case, don't worry. Rest assured, there will be no accountability whatsoever.
13:00I just looked at the first part. It was about voter fraud in some place, Georgia.
13:06There was a lot of voter fraud, 2020 voter fraud. And I didn't see the whole thing.
13:11I guess during the end of it, there was some kind of a picture that people don't like.
13:17I wouldn't like it either, but I didn't see it. I just, I looked at the first part.
13:21I'm not racist. I'm, I'm just incompetent and irresponsible. Come on.
13:25The image of the apes, by the way, is the thumbnail to the video. It's the first thing you see
13:29before you watch the clip.
13:31So unless he was taking one of his naps when he posted it, he knew what he was doing.
13:35But don't expect an apology because he has a very strong relationship with the black community.
13:40I've done great with the black voters. They've been great to me. I've been great to them.
13:44Black voters have been great to me. I've been great to them.
13:47And I am, by the way, the least racist president you've had in a long time, as far as I'm
13:53concerned.
13:53That's right.
13:55Not since the last. Not since 2016.
14:00Would a racist be given a Nobel Prize for peace by the person who won it? I don't think so.
14:06I'm happy to report there was finally some backlash from Republicans on this one.
14:11So much so, they took the post down, which gave the always spine-free Senator Bill Cassidy a chance to
14:17say,
14:17thank you to President Trump for taking down the post about the Obama's.
14:23And thank you, Senator Cassidy, for reminding us who the real hero of this story.
14:27That is some triple Olympic-level brown-nosing right there.
14:32Perhaps topped only by this.
14:34President Trump won the Hispanic-Latin vote by a historic margin than any other Republican has in history.
14:42The most black voters since the 1960s.
14:46He's not racist.
14:47Time and time again.
14:47He was on stage with Nicki Minaj the other day.
14:49I mean, this man is not racist.
14:51He made it very clear what happened in that statement.
14:53I stand by that.
14:54And I watched both that clip and the AI clip of the Jungle Book or the Lion King, excuse me,
15:01with the music.
15:01And I thought, this isn't racist.
15:04Well, case closed, I guess.
15:08Thank you, random blonde idiot.
15:11Delaine Maxwell made a highly anticipated appearance in front of the House Oversight Committee today.
15:19She pled the fifth, as most innocent people do.
15:22Seems a little late to be pleading the fifth, right?
15:24This is like putting on your seatbelt after the plane crashes.
15:27But Maxwell's attorney did speak and made this generous offer.
15:30Ms. Maxwell is prepared to speak fully and honestly if granted clemency by President Trump.
15:36Only she can provide the complete account.
15:38Some may not like what they hear, but the truth matters.
15:41For example, both President Trump and President Clinton are innocent of any wrongdoing.
15:46That's a hell of an offer.
15:47Basically, she's telling Trump, you give me a pardon, I'll give you one too, okay?
15:52A small group of Congress people today were given the chance to review the unredacted files.
15:57They were allowed to go into a room alone with no electronic devices, no cameras, to review 3 million files.
16:04Some information is starting to dribble out. I'm sure we'll have more tomorrow.
16:07One congressman said Trump's name was redacted in multiple places.
16:11It shouldn't have been. And they'll continue to examine the files this week, as will we.
16:15Meanwhile, J.D. Vance wisely got the hell out of town. He and his wife hightailed it to Italy for
16:20the Olympics.
16:21There carrying the flag is Erin Jackson, the first black woman to win a Winter Olympic gold medal in an
16:30individual sport.
16:31What an honor for her.
16:32There is the Vice President, J.D. Vance, and his wife Usha.
16:36Those are not, those are a lot of boos for him.
16:41Whistling, jeering, some applause.
16:44No, no, no, no, no. They weren't booing. They were saying,
16:47Usha, Usha.
16:49I would not have wanted to be one of the fine Italian leather armchairs in J.D.'s hotel room after
16:54that.
16:55And one more thing, in the interest of inclusivity, a lot of people were complaining about the fact that Bad
17:01Bunny was singing in a language we don't understand.
17:03And I'll admit, I wish there was a translation of some kind, because I wanted to know what he was
17:07saying.
17:07So I asked a friend to help, and here it is for those who, like me, did not pay enough
17:12attention in high school Spanish.
17:15Hello, it's me, Bad Bunny. I found a football.
17:20Do you like my football?
17:22Hi, K-Rock.
17:25I'm looking at you.
17:27I'm very thirsty.
17:30I wish I had a coconut.
17:32I'm so happy to see coconut.
17:36Goodbye, coconut.
17:39Hello, guy. Can I play?
17:42No? Okay.
17:45I will go over here to these women.
17:48Here, have a football.
17:51How's the little wall coming along?
17:53Sex and construction ladies, good?
17:56Oh, piraguas. That looks good.
17:59But I don't want it.
18:01I'm gonna give it to the taco guy.
18:07Hey, don't fight, guys. I go under.
18:12Oh, what the f*** is this?
18:14I mean, I never get married. I have too much love to give. I'm about to flow.
18:22Here, get married and make a baby in the bushes.
18:26Thank you, Guillermo.
18:27You're welcome for getting out.
18:29I'm throwing that off. It's really paying off.
18:32All right. We have a great show tonight.
18:34Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd is here.
18:35We have music from Brooke Bowman.
18:37We'll be back with Mike McClure.
18:39Just stick around.
18:52Hi, dear, welcome back tonight.
18:54You can see this Oscar-nominated performance in the Oscar-nominated movie Sentimental Value.
18:59Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd is with us.
19:01And then later, a very talented singer and songwriter
19:04all the way from Scotland.
19:06A song is called How Can I Tell You to Love Me More,
19:08music from Brooke Combe.
19:10This week, we have...
19:12We've got new shows with Tyler Perry, Rose Byrne,
19:16Ego Wodum, Wumi Musako, May Martin, and Nick Kroll
19:19will be here with music from Mariachi El Bronx.
19:22So please join us for that.
19:23Last night, on worldwide television,
19:26our first guest led his team to the biggest title
19:29in American sports.
19:31He's still wet from Gatorade.
19:34From the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks,
19:36please welcome head coach Mike McDonald.
19:55Well, you know...
19:58Congratulations, first of all.
19:59Thanks a lot.
20:00And thank you for coming.
20:01The introduction is awesome.
20:02Thanks for zipping down here.
20:03You know, they talk about how young you are
20:05over and over on TV,
20:06but it doesn't really sink in until I see you in person.
20:09You're 38 years old.
20:11That's a good problem.
20:12The third youngest coach to win a Super Bowl
20:14in NFL history.
20:19The second sexiest Super Bowl winning coach of all time
20:23after Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs.
20:26Has it sunk in yet?
20:28Has it hit you?
20:29No, I'm at Jimmy Kimmel right now just hanging out.
20:36Yeah, it's amazing.
20:38No, it hasn't.
20:39I mean, here I am.
20:40We're going to have a parade on Wednesday.
20:43I'm holding the Lombardi yesterday,
20:44just partying with all my friends and our team,
20:46and no, it hasn't sunk in.
20:48You seem to be having an out-of-body experience
20:50on the field after the game.
20:51I think we have a clip right here.
20:52What an incredible job he's done.
20:55There you are.
20:57What are you looking at there?
20:58What are you thinking?
21:00Well, I have a bad history with memes now.
21:02Between that and we did not care.
21:05Yeah.
21:08It's funny.
21:09It all happened really fast.
21:10We were trying to tackle the guy inbound
21:12so the game would end.
21:13It's like the game's over, and then, you know,
21:15one of our coaches was like,
21:16hey, you just won the Super Bowl.
21:17So that's pretty cool.
21:19You know, and then, so I'm like,
21:20okay, well, now I get to go, you know,
21:22we'll shake the hand and let's go.
21:23And then the Gatorade came, which was awesome.
21:26And then there's like this,
21:27but then there's cameras everywhere.
21:28And so I'm like, awkward.
21:29I'm not trying to look at the cameras.
21:30I don't know what to do.
21:31So there's fireworks going.
21:32So my head goes up.
21:34Now let's look at the fireworks.
21:35We're going to have some fireworks.
21:36Yeah.
21:39Did that last, I was actually saying this,
21:42I was watching the game,
21:42that last like two minutes and 20 seconds
21:44seemed like it took 45 minutes.
21:47Did that seem longer for you?
21:48They took off running across the field.
21:50That guy didn't help.
21:51I gave him extra time.
21:52I thought they were, you know.
21:53Oh, is that what did it?
21:55Okay.
21:55Yeah, because it was confusing.
21:56Because you didn't get to see the game, obviously.
22:00Have you gone back and looked at it?
22:01No, not yet.
22:02No.
22:02I have good news.
22:03Matt Damon wasn't in the Duncan commercial.
22:05He didn't get it.
22:07Yeah, that's tough.
22:08Sorry, Matt.
22:09You seem very level-headed.
22:10Aren't football coaches supposed to be
22:12like a little nuts, a little crazy?
22:14I can get a little crazy.
22:15You can get a little crazy?
22:16Do you scream at the players ever?
22:18No, I don't scream.
22:19Not a screamer.
22:20It's tough.
22:21A guy that didn't play,
22:22if you're screaming at guys,
22:23doesn't go over very well.
22:24You think that's part of it?
22:25Because you played, well, you played what?
22:26High school was the...
22:27Yeah, I retired in high school.
22:28You retired.
22:30Do the guys ever, like,
22:32give you crap about that?
22:34I give myself crap to the guys.
22:36Yeah, it's like, hey, we both know
22:37that I can't do, so...
22:39That's smart.
22:40We'll go from there.
22:41The fans, I lived in Seattle for a year,
22:43and I went to a few of those games,
22:44and the Seahawks fans are,
22:46they call them the 12s.
22:47They're the 12 men.
22:48That's right.
22:49They're very loud and very important.
22:51There seemed to be a lot of them
22:52who traveled to that game.
22:53It was incredible.
22:54I mean, it must have been 75, 25,
22:57it felt like.
22:58You know, if you're...
23:00Like, when you come play on a road game,
23:01it's hard to do, like, a verbal cadence
23:03for the quarterback to snap the ball
23:04because he can't hear.
23:05Right.
23:05So you have to have some sort of, like, silent...
23:07You know, we call it silent cadence
23:09where you lift the leg or whatever,
23:10but their offense was on silent cadence
23:12the whole game,
23:12which gives us an advantage on defense.
23:14Our offense was able to use a verbal cadence
23:16where Sam could, you know,
23:17give all the commands to the center,
23:18so it was like playing a home game.
23:20Yeah, that's nice.
23:21That's pretty sweet when that happens.
23:23And your plays...
23:23Well, first of all, you call
23:25all the defensive plays,
23:26which is very unusual.
23:29Well, somebody has to call, you know?
23:31Yeah.
23:33Yeah.
23:33Usually that's farmed out to somebody else.
23:36Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure.
23:36But your...
23:37Is that something that you just have always wanted to do
23:41and always believed the head coach should do?
23:43Well, it's funny.
23:44I always...
23:44I grew up, when I started coaching,
23:45I just wanted to be a defensive coordinator.
23:47I didn't really have, like, aspirations
23:48to be a head coach.
23:50When I got to Michigan
23:51and then going back to Baltimore,
23:53you started, like, a vision
23:54of how you'd want to run your own team.
23:55That started to come to life.
23:57But for the longest time,
23:58I just wanted to, like, dial up blitzes
23:59and run cool, you know,
24:01run cool coverages and stunts and stuff.
24:04But the vision got bigger from there, you know?
24:07Shouldn't you get a separate salary for that?
24:11I don't know.
24:12You know, maybe John and Jody are listening.
24:14I don't know.
24:15And you have...
24:17Some of the plays you give, like,
24:18creative names to, right?
24:20Yeah.
24:20What are some of the names,
24:21code names for the plays?
24:22Man.
24:24Well, so we had a sack fumble yesterday.
24:26And I think Derek Hall
24:29was the one who forced the fumble,
24:30but the name was Tupac.
24:32There's some extra sauce to it,
24:33but, like, the cover...
24:34Yeah, we called it Tupac, yeah.
24:36Why Tupac?
24:37Well, it's funny.
24:38Like, the genesis of names
24:41is, like, the most difficult thing
24:43to explain of all time.
24:44But basically, it goes back
24:45to, like, 10 years ago.
24:46We were trying to come up
24:47with names for coverages.
24:49And, you know, rappers' names
24:50obviously came up
24:51and kind of, like, cool, you know,
24:53guys or whatever.
24:54And Tupac meant two.
24:56And there we go.
24:58Oh, all right.
24:58Some high-level stuff.
25:00Okay.
25:01The team motto is M-O-B.
25:03What does that stand for?
25:05Mission over...
25:06Bull.
25:07Bull.
25:07Yeah.
25:08Did you come up with that?
25:10I didn't.
25:11You know, it's funny.
25:12You start a team...
25:13You know, hey,
25:14what are we going to be about?
25:15We have to have
25:15some sort of common language.
25:16So I had some ideas
25:18that wasn't M-O-B.
25:19But, you know,
25:20this year we felt like,
25:22hey, look,
25:22all my stuff is cool.
25:24But for us to really
25:25take the next step,
25:26like, our players have to...
25:27It has to be their,
25:28you know, motto.
25:29It has to come from them.
25:30It has to be their idea.
25:31Oh, interesting.
25:31So the guys came up with it.
25:32Yeah.
25:33Did the defense
25:33name themselves
25:34the dark side?
25:35They did, yeah.
25:36They did.
25:36Shout out Leonard Williams.
25:37That didn't come from me.
25:39Does that make you
25:40Darth Vader or the Emperor
25:41or who are you
25:42in that story?
25:43I don't know.
25:43We've had some 12
25:44show up in Darth Vader
25:45costumes and stuff.
25:46Uh-huh.
25:46At Lumen.
25:47It's been pretty cool.
25:48When you win the Super Bowl,
25:50and now Mike Vrabel
25:50won the coach of the year
25:52last weekend.
25:53Don't you think
25:54that should now
25:54be taken from him
25:55and given to you?
25:58No?
26:01Were you surprised
26:02by how well
26:03the defense played yesterday?
26:06No.
26:07No.
26:07Did you have it
26:08in your head, like,
26:09oh, man,
26:09they're gonna...
26:10It's gonna be hard
26:11for them to even
26:11get off a pass.
26:13Well, I was proud
26:14because that's who
26:15we've been on
26:15the whole season.
26:16And now you're
26:16at this stage,
26:17and it's like,
26:18let's just go be us.
26:19And so now everybody
26:20knows who we are.
26:21But we were just us
26:22last night.
26:23It was awesome.
26:23But, yeah,
26:24it was great.
26:24Sam Darnold,
26:25the quarterback,
26:26has been with you
26:27for one year.
26:28He came from the Vikings,
26:29which is pretty crazy.
26:30Yep.
26:30You look like a genius now.
26:32I mean,
26:32that really looks
26:32like a great decision,
26:34doesn't it?
26:34Well, it was really...
26:35I mean,
26:35it wasn't all my decision.
26:36John Schneider had a lot
26:37to do with our general manager,
26:38but...
26:39Uh-huh.
26:39Um, yeah,
26:41we look pretty smart
26:41right now.
26:41Yeah, yeah.
26:43Now, would it make sense
26:44to have a new quarterback
26:45every season?
26:48I don't know.
26:48We flew down here
26:49with Sam,
26:49so I'm gonna say no.
26:50Yeah, I saw him
26:51on the teacups.
26:51Yeah, we'll run it back.
26:53I think we'll run it back.
26:54I don't know
26:54if he's coming back.
26:55How soon do you start
26:57thinking about next season?
26:58Has that thought
26:59entered your head?
27:00Well, it's tough.
27:01Our offensive coordinator
27:01just left for the Raiders.
27:04Yeah, well,
27:04you could call
27:04the offensive place, too.
27:07I have more salary,
27:08you know?
27:09So, well, you know,
27:10unfortunately,
27:10we gotta hire somebody new
27:12and get moving,
27:13but we gotta parade
27:14to celebrate
27:15on Wednesday first, so...
27:16Yeah, that's gonna be fun, huh?
27:17Will you fully enjoy
27:19the parade,
27:19if you know what I'm saying?
27:21I don't think I'm gonna
27:22throw the Lombardi
27:24like somebody else.
27:25Right, right, yeah.
27:26Tom did that, right?
27:26put it in danger, but...
27:27Yeah, right, yeah.
27:28Stay off a boat.
27:29Don't throw the Lombardi.
27:30Yeah, it's not gonna be
27:30thrown near any sort of water.
27:32Yeah, it's gonna be awesome.
27:33Well, it's great
27:34to have you here.
27:35You seem like a great guy,
27:36and I'm so glad
27:36you guys won the...
27:37I mean, really,
27:38it was a dominant performance.
27:41It didn't make for
27:42much of a game to watch,
27:44but I bet you enjoyed
27:45the hell out of it
27:46watching from the sidelines.
27:47Yeah, we did.
27:47Mike McDonald, everybody,
27:49coaching the Seahawks.
27:50We'll be back
27:51with Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd.
28:00Hi there.
28:01Our next guest
28:02is a great actor
28:03from Sweden
28:04who gave birth
28:05to many other great actors
28:06from Sweden.
28:07He just received
28:08his first Oscar nomination
28:09for his role
28:10in the movie
28:10Sentimental Value.
28:11It is on demand now.
28:13Please welcome
28:13Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd.
28:32What a pleasure to meet you.
28:34Thank you for being here.
28:36What a pleasure
28:36to get such a...
28:38such a welcome.
28:40Did you watch
28:40the Super Bowl?
28:41No, I don't understand it.
28:45I'm a Swedish.
28:46We're a little behind there.
28:47Yeah, well,
28:48you've got different things.
28:48What is the Swedish
28:49equivalent to the Super Bowl?
28:54I don't think we...
28:55Well, maybe...
28:56Maybe it's
28:57the European Song Contest.
29:00The Eurovision?
29:01Yeah.
29:02Really?
29:03Wow.
29:04So yours is like
29:05a halftime show.
29:06The whole thing
29:07is a halftime show.
29:08Do they play football
29:10in the middle of that?
29:11No.
29:11Yeah, just during
29:12the intermission, yeah.
29:14Interesting.
29:15Well, that's actually
29:17particularly interesting
29:18because I was handed this.
29:21This is an album cover,
29:23a record you made
29:24when you were how old?
29:26I was 16 years old.
29:2816 years old.
29:30And I was a bit late.
29:31I was lately developed.
29:33So...
29:35Now you look about
29:3616 years old.
29:38Was it a big hit there?
29:39Well, I was famous already
29:42from a TV series I'd done.
29:44Uh-huh.
29:44So Bombay Bit
29:45is the character
29:46of that TV series.
29:47And that was not a hit
29:50when it came out.
29:50It was not, no.
29:51I can tell you that.
29:54Some producer called me
29:55on the phone
29:56and he said,
29:57you want to make a record?
29:59Because I was famous.
30:01So...
30:01And I can't sing, I said.
30:03So he strummed on the guitar.
30:05You know,
30:06and I said,
30:07sing that.
30:09Oh!
30:11Oh!
30:13It didn't work.
30:14But it didn't encourage him.
30:17He said,
30:18yeah, come, come, come up
30:20to Stockholm and do it.
30:21So I went up
30:22and I tried to sing
30:24and it didn't work,
30:25of course.
30:25So the guy
30:27who brought me in,
30:29he did it instead.
30:30He sang instead of...
30:31Oh, he did?
30:32Yeah.
30:32And he had me
30:33doing recitement
30:35on the back
30:36of the record.
30:37Some poetry reading.
30:40It sounds to me
30:41like you were duped
30:42is what happened there.
30:43Yep.
30:45But the thing is,
30:47the worst thing
30:47is that
30:47the biggest paper
30:49in Sweden,
30:50Dagens Nyheter,
30:51they had on the front page.
30:53They had
30:54Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd
30:55that we learned
30:56to love
30:57as that character
30:58we don't love anymore.
31:02Well, that's a...
31:03If I would have been
31:03a sensible
31:04or sensitive guy
31:0616 years old,
31:08I would have broken down,
31:09but they were right.
31:13You're not sensitive?
31:14No.
31:14No.
31:15You, um...
31:16You know,
31:16I think Sweden won gold
31:18and silver
31:19in cross-country skiing.
31:20Is that something
31:21that is a huge thing
31:22over there right now?
31:25I...
31:26I'm...
31:27I don't go out
31:28in winters.
31:29You don't?
31:29No.
31:30I stay indoors.
31:31I drink wine.
31:32I light a fire.
31:34And then I go out,
31:35come out
31:35like the bears do
31:36in the...
31:37But do you watch it?
31:39Is it something
31:39like that everyone
31:40is watching on TV?
31:41Are they glued
31:42to their TVs,
31:43eating little meatballs
31:43and stuff like that?
31:47Well,
31:47there was,
31:48in the...
31:50I think it was
31:50in the 70s
31:52or 80s,
31:53we had
31:53a downhill
31:57skier
31:57that was really famous.
31:59He won World Cup
32:01after another,
32:02one after another.
32:03His name was,
32:05uh...
32:05I don't remember.
32:06Uh-huh.
32:07I'm not that interested.
32:09But the thing is
32:10that when he played,
32:12they stopped
32:13every factory
32:14in the country.
32:15Every school stopped,
32:17every lesson stopped,
32:19and they all watched
32:20each time
32:21he ran down a mountain.
32:23and the result
32:24was the same,
32:24he came down.
32:26LAUGHTER
32:28Each time
32:29he made it down.
32:30Yeah.
32:32What movie
32:32do Americans
32:33ask you about
32:34the most
32:35from,
32:36when they see you
32:37on the street
32:38or wherever?
32:39They ask me,
32:40now,
32:40lately,
32:41they ask me
32:41about Dune.
32:43Uh-huh.
32:44Yeah.
32:45Yeah.
32:46Yeah.
32:46Yeah.
32:47Yeah.
32:47They ask me
32:48about Ander.
32:50Ander, yeah.
32:51And they ask me
32:53about Good Will
32:54Hunting still.
32:55Yeah, they do.
33:00Now, you know,
33:00I have a problem
33:01with one of the guys
33:02in that movie.
33:05Oh.
33:05Yeah.
33:06I don't want
33:07to get into it,
33:08but he's...
33:08I don't.
33:09He's a bad guy.
33:11No.
33:11Did you like
33:12any of the people
33:13in that movie?
33:14I loved, uh,
33:15I loved him.
33:16Which one?
33:18Matt.
33:19Oh.
33:19Yeah, he's lovely.
33:21What?
33:21Maybe he was
33:22different back then?
33:25Maybe he had
33:26a different attitude
33:27than you have.
33:28Yeah, for sure.
33:30Yeah.
33:30It's called
33:30a bad attitude.
33:31Because in your
33:32relationship,
33:33you're the bad guy.
33:38Well,
33:39you know,
33:40what they say
33:40when you speak
33:41to actors,
33:41they say,
33:42of course the villain
33:42doesn't think
33:43he's the bad guy,
33:44right?
33:45So maybe that's him.
33:49That's...
33:51Ah.
33:53If I'd known
33:54you were going
33:54to pick sides,
33:56I don't know
33:57that I would have
33:57invited you here,
33:58honestly.
33:58No, no, no,
33:59but what do you mean
34:00I pick sides?
34:01I don't pick sides.
34:02You just made me
34:03the villain.
34:05I was going to say
34:06so many nice things
34:06about your movie, too.
34:08You know what?
34:08I'm still going to do
34:09that because you know
34:10why?
34:10I'm the good guy.
34:11That's right.
34:12That was so exciting.
34:30Take you to the hotel.
34:32Oh.
34:40It was very nice to meet you.
34:42Very nice.
34:44Great.
34:45Great.
34:46Great.
34:47No, no, no, no, no.
34:49Great.
34:50I have your phone.
34:52That is Scott Sondard
34:54and El Fanny
34:55in Sentimental Value,
34:57which is, um,
34:58I'm going to tell you
34:59something.
34:59I love this movie.
35:00I thought it was great
35:02and you were just great in it
35:03and El is fantastic in it.
35:04It's just a beautiful film.
35:07Are you happy with the film?
35:08I would assume you are.
35:09I am because it's, uh,
35:11it's such,
35:12in a way,
35:13it's, uh,
35:14it's a low key.
35:15It's not a very,
35:16it's not happening
35:17very much in the film,
35:19but it has been
35:20a great success anyway.
35:22It is,
35:22I was actually saying
35:23that to my wife.
35:24I said, this is,
35:25it is,
35:25it's not,
35:26not a ton happening,
35:27but it's,
35:28you're absorbed
35:30the whole time
35:31you're watching this.
35:32Because it's not,
35:32it's not,
35:33uh, sort of,
35:34superficial what's happening.
35:35It's not,
35:35it's not sort of
35:36things blowing up
35:37and shootings and stuff,
35:39but it happens a lot
35:40inside those people
35:41and you're not sure
35:43whenever you make a film.
35:45That is what you want.
35:46You want,
35:47you want the,
35:48as an actor,
35:49you want them to,
35:49to read what's going on
35:51in your head.
35:52And it's,
35:52it very rarely happens.
35:54You play a director
35:54who is reconnecting
35:56with his daughters
35:58after their mother dies.
36:00And, um,
36:01it's just,
36:01it's, uh,
36:02it's so interesting,
36:03especially,
36:04I mean,
36:04you're the dad of,
36:05of actors.
36:06You're in the family business.
36:08This is something
36:08that probably resonated
36:10with you in many ways.
36:12When you get the script
36:13for something like this,
36:15are you,
36:15are you just
36:16beyond excited?
36:19I mean,
36:20I was really excited
36:21to work with the director.
36:23Uh-huh.
36:23I've seen his films
36:24and I've seen him
36:25become better and better.
36:27But, but it's,
36:28but the script was,
36:29in itself,
36:30it was,
36:30it was something
36:31beautiful about it
36:32because it's a,
36:33it's a sad story,
36:35but it's,
36:35uh,
36:36it started with
36:37telling about a house.
36:40And it's,
36:40it was telling about
36:42this house
36:42in a beautiful way.
36:44And I said,
36:45oh,
36:45this is delicious.
36:46It's like,
36:47it's like a,
36:48it's like a beautiful dish
36:50of food,
36:51you know?
36:51It's,
36:52uh,
36:53uh,
36:54it's so cinematic.
36:55The house is the main character
36:57in a lot of ways.
36:58It's one of the main characters.
36:58Yeah.
36:58And it's,
36:59it's very cinematic
37:00and it also gives you
37:01another perspective
37:01on this family
37:02with problems.
37:03I mean,
37:04because the house
37:05sort of transports you
37:06through generations
37:07in a way.
37:08You've won a number
37:08of awards
37:09and you just mentioned
37:10a beautiful meal.
37:11And so I wanted to
37:12mention this,
37:13um,
37:14what has become a meme.
37:15There you are
37:16at the Critics' Choice Awards.
37:20Having it,
37:21seems like you've been
37:22left out
37:22of this
37:24dinner experience.
37:25True?
37:30Well,
37:31they made a mistake.
37:33I didn't say,
37:34I don't say that
37:35they made the mistake
37:35to serve that food,
37:36but they made a mistake
37:37by inviting me to it.
37:40Oh,
37:40it was the food.
37:41Oh yeah,
37:41you know what?
37:42I was there.
37:42Yeah,
37:42it was like grapes.
37:43There was no food
37:44on that plate.
37:45Exactly.
37:46You hear about
37:47these award shows
37:48that have food
37:50and then you get excited
37:51and you think,
37:51okay,
37:52I won't eat
37:52and then you get grapes.
37:55But you get
37:56a liter
37:57of tequila.
37:58You do,
37:59yeah.
37:59They want you
38:00to get hammered.
38:00Yeah.
38:01They want you
38:02to pull a tequila
38:03and grape.
38:05Well,
38:05I can't recommend
38:06the movie enough.
38:07It's called
38:07Sentimental Value.
38:08It is on demand now.
