00:00Winters and gas bills for new careers and seemingly endless fun in the sun.
00:04Cheers, Biggest!
00:06It's our little piece of paradise.
00:08Get it right and life in Florida can be like a dream come true.
00:12Every evening do this with your glass of wine.
00:14But getting here and staying here takes hard work.
00:18I do pinch myself every day.
00:20Grit.
00:21We just lost the starboard motor.
00:23And determination.
00:24Good job. Well done.
00:25These are the Brits who've made their own Escape to Florida.
00:33Today on Escape to Florida, it's all aboard.
00:37This is my big idea for St George's Day.
00:41My London bus.
00:42And she's a beauty.
00:43As pub owner Martin introduces his latest publicity stunt.
00:48It's an original 1957 bus.
00:51Wow.
00:52Come on, mate.
00:52Come and have a look at her.
00:54Donna and Dan cheer on their youngest son, Billy.
00:57Do something with it, Billy.
00:59Oh, I love it.
01:01In a game that could secure his future in Florida.
01:05Hit it!
01:05There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
01:07Hey, Bill, that there, you've got to be stronger, mate.
01:09And London-born Justine is tapping into her British contacts to sell a brand new penthouse.
01:15What do you think of the view out here?
01:16Because I think this is it.
01:18Wow.
01:18Thank you so much.
01:19See you again.
01:20And maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
01:29In Clermont, Oldenborn Martin has risked everything by launching a theme pub, The Best of British.
01:37We've got your seat reserved for you.
01:39You know that.
01:39Oh, thank you.
01:40Thank you, Herb.
01:41It's been open for five weeks, and the pub has been busy.
01:44The response has been brilliant.
01:46Things have gone really, really well.
01:48Martin moved to Florida with his wife, Beverly, five years ago.
01:52We moved here on New Year's Day, 2020, just a couple of months before the COVID pandemic hit.
01:58So, you know, life turned upside down very, very quickly.
02:01We didn't have a chance to really settle and establish our lives here in many ways.
02:06And we got hit very, very hard in different ways.
02:08He poured all his savings into this new venture.
02:11I've put about a quarter of a million into getting this business right.
02:16So we need it to work personally.
02:18So, yeah, a lot rides on this.
02:20In Florida's competitive hospitality scene, Martin's making the most of every opportunity
02:25to pull in the punters and their cash.
02:29In a couple of weeks, we've got St. George's Day, and I really want to make a big day out
02:33of it.
02:33A lot to prepare for and a lot to plan for, but, yeah, two weeks to go.
02:37I'm looking forward to it.
02:39Keen to turn this St. George's Day into a moneymaker, Martin has a cheeky plan to bring the customers in.
02:45So, this is my big idea for St. George's Day.
02:50My latest madcap idea is my London bus.
02:55And she's a beauty.
02:57London bus, iconic.
02:58Obviously, you don't see them over here.
03:00There are a few scattered about in the U.S. at different pubs and restaurants and stuff.
03:04This is the only one that I know in central Florida.
03:08I needed it to become a landmark, something to drag people in.
03:13Roadside advertising isn't new territory for Martin and the pub.
03:17So, we had our hot air balloon for our launch day, which was a challenge in itself in different ways.
03:22We had to import that and all the permits that went with that.
03:26We got told to take that down by the local council.
03:28We have to abide by certain rules and regulations, but I'm hoping we're going to be okay with this one.
03:33But Martin's big ideas don't come with a small price tag.
03:37At the moment, we're renting it off.
03:38So, a couple of grand a month on renting the bus and putting it there.
03:41So, we've done that and I've said, listen, I'll agree to buy you up in 70 grand, we've said.
03:45If it comes to the point where we think it's really working.
03:4870 grand for a bus that's going nowhere is a big investment and it needs a major rebrand.
03:54So, what I've got to do, first of all, is get all this lettering off.
03:57So, it was a lawyer down in South Florida who was using the bus for promotional purposes.
04:02I want to get it back to its original red.
04:04The paint seems in immaculate condition for a 70-odd-year-old bus.
04:09So, it's going to take time.
04:10And we've got a couple of weeks before St George's Day.
04:13With every one of Martin's new ideas, it's his trusted handyman, Jimmy, from Macclesfield,
04:19who turns them into reality.
04:21Jimmy's up to any task, honestly.
04:23Jimmy's brilliant and when I do come up with these mad ideas, he just gets on with it.
04:29I'm a big wrench.
04:30You know, the big blue handle one.
04:33Jimmy and wife Anne, who's the pub manager, came to Florida 17 years ago.
04:39In this business, I'm the general handyman, customer service sometimes.
04:45I'm just general on the dog's body.
04:47If they want something to do, they'll say.
04:49Everybody just turns, Jimmy!
04:51We planned this escape to Florida over quite a while.
04:56We loved it.
04:56It was our happy place.
04:58Loved everything about it.
04:59So, I thought, why not live there?
05:02Now Martin needs to introduce Jimmy to his next task.
05:07Mate, it's an original 1957 bus.
05:10We're in London.
05:11Come on, mate.
05:12Come and have a look at her.
05:13She's called Lucy.
05:14Lucy!
05:161957.
05:17On a million miles.
05:20Similar to yourself.
05:21Yeah.
05:23I feel like it.
05:24I have a big issue when you're up close.
05:26We've obviously got to do a bit of a...
05:28We?
05:29We?
05:29Did you say?
05:30We?
05:31I'm going to kind of supervise you, I think.
05:33Right.
05:35Yeah, we need to get all the lettering off.
05:36But I think she'll come back up.
05:39That's the original paint underneath, like that cherry red.
05:42Yeah.
05:43Same colour as the bomb box.
05:44With St George's Day two weeks away, Jimmy will have some hard graft ahead of him to get
05:50the bus ready in time.
05:5628 miles away in downtown Orlando, the sun is shining.
06:01Making the most of it by walking our four-legged friends is London-born Justine.
06:08I like to take the dogs for a walk.
06:11So it's nice to take a few minutes each day and kind of calm yourself.
06:17Although born in the UK, Justine has lived in Florida for 45 years and has built a successful
06:24career, helping British businesses thrive in Florida, especially in property.
06:29I'm a real estate marketing consultant, but I work with developers through my company to
06:36help market and sell, both locally and internationally.
06:41There we are.
06:44Justine lives with husband Rajah, mother Denise, and son Chris.
06:49Because everything kind of revolves around food, doesn't it?
06:51So we're a social family, we're social together, we're social with our friends, and yeah, we
06:56like cooking.
06:57Justine and Rajah have been together for 34 years.
07:02Maybe we should get chickens.
07:03No.
07:04No.
07:05You're not here.
07:07I mean, that's a fair point.
07:08We got married twice.
07:10So we've been, we got married the first time because I could no longer live here.
07:15I had no visa and I was moving back to England.
07:18It was a green card wedding.
07:19It was, it was completely a green card marriage.
07:21Here we are 34 years later.
07:24I am basically semi-retired or retired at this point.
07:28I went through a little bit of a challenge with some health issues and they figured out
07:31I've got terminal cancer and I was given 10 years at best and here I am on year 13.
07:38So everything's under control.
07:40And Justine has needed the strength of her family every step of the way.
07:45There are times where Rajah's been in hospital and things have been very difficult and, you
07:49know, with both my mom and my son, we're so connected with each other that it's kind of
07:52easy to figure out what somebody needs at any point in time.
07:56Come on in here.
07:58Come on, we've got some work to do.
07:59Today, Justine's working from home on her latest development on the Gulf Coast.
08:04Its success will be crucial to help maintain their Florida lifestyle.
08:09Marina Point is three luxury condo towers that are on, on kind of in a peninsula right out
08:15in Tampa Bay.
08:16This tower has been built as have these, what we call Harbor Homes.
08:21So far we've built this, these two fingers of the marina.
08:25And so we still have these ones to go, but we won't do those until we start construction
08:29on tower two and three.
08:33Florida is one of the top spots in the U.S. for this kind of high-end real estate.
08:39The next tower alone is about a $260 million build.
08:44Just the next tower alone.
08:46Justine still has to work hard to sell these condos.
08:49And one marketing strategy is to hold exclusive parties for potential buyers.
08:54We do these yacht parties to introduce the lifestyle and to also make sure that we're introducing
09:01different companies, different aspects of the community together.
09:05Because even if they're not looking to buy, they certainly have the ability to, to connect
09:10with us in some way, shape or form.
09:13Before finalizing the guest list, she needs to know the size of the yacht.
09:18Hey, Morgan.
09:19Hello.
09:20So just calling to touch base, because I want to make sure that we didn't overbook with
09:24too many people.
09:25So do you know which one of the yachts we're going to have for next week?
09:28We are hopefully going to bring the 72, but we used it for something yesterday.
09:33And there was no AC on it.
09:36So we are just working to get the AC fixed on that unit.
09:40And then if we do, then we will be bringing that one.
09:43Got it.
09:44All right.
09:45If you hear anything, will you let me know, please?
09:47Okay, perfect.
09:48Yep.
09:48I will keep you posted as soon as we know that.
09:50Thanks, Morgan.
09:50See you next week.
09:51All right.
09:51I'll talk to you soon.
09:52All right.
09:52Take care.
09:53Bye.
09:54So hopefully we get the 72 foot, but not without air conditioning.
09:58Sweating on a yacht.
10:00Not acceptable.
10:02When you're selling luxury lifestyle, first impressions count.
10:06And in Florida's scorching summer heat, a yacht without air con has Justine working up
10:12a sweat before the party even begins.
10:29In the sunny resort of St. Pete Beach, 52-year-old Londoner Dan is tending to his pool.
10:38I'm giving the pool a little clean with all the trees and palms.
10:43So you have to go around doing it yourself.
10:45I find it quite therapeutic, actually.
10:48Dan moved to Florida nearly four years ago with his wife Donna and two sons.
10:53When we first got here, Donna was on an 01 visa and I was on an 03.
10:59It meant that I couldn't work for the first three years.
11:02But now Dan has passed the exam to become a Florida realtor, or estate agent, as we call
11:08them in the UK.
11:09I'll show you my new style.
11:11Oh.
11:12What, your new realtor style?
11:14Yep.
11:15I'm starting something that I've never done in my life.
11:18Yeah, it's a little bit terrifying.
11:21I think I'll do well at it.
11:22I really do.
11:23Money's tight and Donna's wages aren't covering everything.
11:27So Dan needs to start bringing in an income.
11:30I'm actually bringing absolutely zero dollars in the house.
11:34I need to start bringing some money in because everything depends on it at the end of the
11:38day.
11:39The kids won't be going to the school they're out if I'm not bringing the money in.
11:42I can't rely on Donna to do it all the time.
11:45Having spent the last few years running the home, Dan's about to find out what juggling
11:49work and life looks like.
11:52I love my life being around the family, cooking for them.
11:55It's something I really enjoy.
11:57Dan and youngest son, 14-year-old Billy, have spent a lot of time together recently and
12:02Dan's determined not to lose that when he returns to work.
12:05Dan, haven't I been doing the dishes recently?
12:07Once or twice, mate.
12:09We could do some yesterday, you know.
12:11And the day before.
12:13Billy's great.
12:14I take Billy to school.
12:15I take Billy to football training, football games.
12:18And I quite like that as well, I must say.
12:20A keen football player in the UK, Billy's love of the game survived the move.
12:26You've got all these kits done.
12:28The yellow one.
12:30I don't know why you need to take three.
12:32I've got my yellow one upstairs.
12:34I play for Clearwater Chargers.
12:36Last season I won Perrids play this season.
12:39Before the match, Dan makes sure that Billy is fueled up with his favorite breakfast.
12:44We're making pancakes with French toast just to give everyone an option.
12:49It gives me enough energy, but I don't like anything too heavy.
12:52When I first moved from England to Florida, I was not excited.
12:56I was kind of dreading leaving England.
12:58Completely different vibe to living in England.
13:00When we first decided that we were going to look into moving over, we sat both boys down
13:06and Oliver was like, yes, yes, bring it on.
13:09Billy was more apprehensive.
13:11At the time he was nine or ten, he had a very solid friendship group.
13:17And so he felt a little bit unsure.
13:21Get the plates out.
13:22Success on the pitch could land Billy a college soccer scholarship worth up to $250,000.
13:30Scholarships are really important over here because the college is so expensive
13:34and sports is such a big deal over here.
13:38But I want to get a scholarship for ball or soccer
13:43and hopefully I can do well academically and athletically
13:47so I can get into good schools for college.
13:50And a scholarship would mean more than just funding.
13:52It could help Billy stay in the US.
13:55I'll have one of these then.
13:57The kids can be educated here.
14:00There's not a problem with that until they're 20 years old
14:03and then they have to either leave the country or we have to get green cards.
14:09Billy has played football ever since he was like, could walk.
14:13I knew the sports programmes over here were great.
14:16I just thought, I hope he thrives as much as he did when we were in London.
14:21He's so sporty and he really wants to make this part of his future.
14:25For Billy, this isn't just about football.
14:28Securing a scholarship will allow him to build his own life in Florida
14:32and today he needs to put his best foot forward.
14:42Over in Clermont, pub owner Martin's best of British pub has all the icons.
14:48A red phone box, a red post box and now to round off the collection,
14:52he's got a red London double-decker bus.
14:56And handyman Jimmy has been tasked with bringing her back to former glory.
15:01So we know what we're doing with the bus now, to get them letters off.
15:04Michael will be here a bit anyway to give you a hand
15:06and then, yeah, let's just get it looking as pretty as we can, as quick as we can.
15:10Only two weeks until St George's Day
15:12and Martin wants his centrepiece ready.
15:15So Jimmy has roped in cook Michael to help.
15:18We start down here, all the bottom first,
15:21then we'll bring the steps out and start to go across here.
15:24We don't think.
15:25First job, stripping off the old lettering.
15:29You spray it.
15:34And let it soak in for a few minutes.
15:37With this, you've just got to tease them.
15:40Like that, see?
15:41It's just a tedious job.
15:47And the black seems to come off a lot better than the white.
15:50It's slow going and that is not Jimmy's style.
15:54I'm going to go to one of the auto shops here.
15:58Hopefully they'll have something stronger
16:00so that we can get a move on a bit more.
16:02We've got to be ready for two weeks
16:04and then I'll be back in two minutes.
16:07With Jimmy off looking for solutions,
16:10Michael pushes the restoration forward,
16:12slowly, very slowly.
16:15Before I had seen it, I'd pictured everything coming off
16:17and just one thing scraped like that.
16:22Beautiful sunny day.
16:25I've got this sticker remover from the car shop.
16:28It's a gel, so it should hang on there longer than the aerosol
16:33because the aerosols obviously evaporate as soon as you put it on.
16:36And then I've got an eraser wheel
16:39that goes into your hand-held drill
16:41and spins and it's just rubber
16:44so it shouldn't affect the paintwork.
16:46You should just take the thing off.
16:48We'll give it a go.
16:50Desperate times to call for desperate measures.
16:54Smells pretty nice.
16:56Mmm.
16:57Here comes the test.
16:58Will Jimmy's new purchase do the job?
17:01Yeah, Michael, look at that.
17:03It's beautiful.
17:06What if you need these little scrapers?
17:08Keep that up.
17:10Jimmy's idea works
17:11and he's passed this tedious task on to Michael.
17:18That one's going to be...
17:20He's keen to see if the original colour
17:23can shine through after all the years in the Florida sun.
17:27I'm going to clean this section off here
17:29with this product we've got
17:32and it should enhance the rate of the paint.
17:34So we'll give it a go.
17:36Mine's ideas are pretty radical at times
17:40and frightening.
17:43But this one with a bus,
17:46I'm actually enthusiastic about it.
17:49Once we get it up to a standard,
17:52it's just going to be a wow for everybody.
17:56I'm just going to go and get the lacquer paint now.
17:59There you go.
18:01All this does is put a shine on it.
18:06See how it's shining?
18:07Oh, I tell you, Jimmy, gorgeous.
18:09And on the other side...
18:11Wow, that's a lot better, isn't it?
18:14Everything's coming together.
18:15But does Jimmy think the bus will be ready for St. George's Day?
18:19We're making good progress.
18:21We've actually got less than two weeks
18:23to get it stripped down and tarted up.
18:27So, fingers crossed.
18:33In Tampa, on Florida's luxurious Gulf Coast,
18:39ex-pat real estate consultant Justine
18:42is back in the office.
18:43I have a couple of different roles here.
18:46I oversee all of the marketing.
18:47I oversee all of the closings.
18:49There's a full day of sales on the cards for Justine
18:52and Marina Point Executive Director Dominic,
18:54who's also from London.
18:56Morning, Justine. How are you doing?
18:57Morning, Dominic. How are you?
18:58Oh, very good.
18:59Oh, got lots going on today.
19:01Clients this afternoon that I'd like for you and I to tour.
19:04And this evening, we have a yacht tour.
19:06I'm looking forward to that.
19:07With prospective clients.
19:08That's going to be good.
19:09If this property sells,
19:11the first tower will be completely sold out,
19:14driving demand for the next two.
19:16These clients that are coming in
19:18to look at the penthouse this afternoon,
19:20they live in St. Pete,
19:22and they're interested in potentially moving to,
19:26obviously, live directly on the waterfront.
19:29There we are.
19:30All right, let's do it.
19:35Today's potential buyers are British expat Michael from Darby
19:39and his American wife, Jenny.
19:41Thank you for coming.
19:42We appreciate it very much.
19:43The penthouse that they're viewing has a hefty $3.1 million price tag.
19:49This is the penthouse, so we open up right out of the elevator,
19:52straight into the penthouse here.
19:55All right.
19:57What do you think of the view out here?
19:59Because I think this is it.
20:01I mean, this tells you everything about Marina Point.
20:03This is absolutely gorgeous.
20:04Wow.
20:05A penthouse buyer is a very specific buyer,
20:07so you obviously have to have the means
20:09to be able to purchase at that level,
20:12but they know what they want,
20:13and so if this is the lifestyle that they're looking for,
20:16they'll know it immediately.
20:17So we're looking like a bit of a lock-up-and-leave sort of deal here.
20:21Well, that's what this is here.
20:23You just let the concierge know that you'll be gone for however long,
20:26and they take care of everything for you.
20:29With first impressions out of the way,
20:31how does Justine feel it's going?
20:33I think it's a great reaction so far.
20:34We'll see.
20:35So if they're looking to potentially sell,
20:38have a resort lifestyle
20:40where they don't have any upkeep on a house
20:43because they want to live part-time in France,
20:45I think we're in good shape, so we'll keep going.
20:48The outer space is a...
20:50It's a must, yeah.
20:52And the one thing that never fails to impress, the view.
20:56Give me a heart to concentrate.
20:57What is it about here, though?
20:58It would be a little large pantry.
21:01That's the shower.
21:02Yes.
21:04This is...
21:04It's a sanctuary.
21:05This is the real...
21:06Designed to be a sanctuary.
21:08The tour over, can Justine close the sale?
21:12From Tower One, this is the only residence that we have
21:15that's remaining.
21:16Everything else is sold out.
21:17So I guess some of it depends on whether you're looking
21:19to move immediately or whether you're looking to move
21:21in the future.
21:22Just a consideration that, you know, once this one goes...
21:25I'm sure.
21:25A million questions that I can fire off to you as well.
21:27I can send you an email with a million questions.
21:29The viewing at an end.
21:31What did Michael and Jenny make of it?
21:33It's incredibly spacious.
21:34I think we'll struggle to fill it with furniture,
21:36to be honest.
21:37But it's great, yeah.
21:38Thank you so much.
21:39Thanks a lot.
21:40Thank you so much.
21:40See you again.
21:41Nice meeting you.
21:42Thanks very much.
21:42The buyers are holding off for now.
21:44But is Justine confident of a future sale?
21:47Fingers crossed.
21:48It's the only residence that we have.
21:51And the timing for Tower Two doesn't seem as though
21:53it'll work quite as well for them,
21:54because we're at least two years off from that one.
21:58So maybe if they like it enough, they'll commit to it.
22:02With the viewing done,
22:04Justine has to turn her attention
22:05to this evening's yacht party
22:07for more potential buyers.
22:08But is she going to need a bigger boat?
22:24In Clermont, the big day has finally arrived
22:27for pub owner Martin.
22:30Today we're celebrating St George's Day.
22:32We celebrate every other patron saint during the year.
22:35Today is St George's Day for the English patron saint.
22:38It's now 10 past 11.
22:39We've got live music starting at 2.
22:41So we've got a lot to get done this morning,
22:43waiting for the champagne cart to arrive.
22:45It's also the official unveiling
22:47of their new roadside advertising,
22:49Lucy, the London bus.
22:51Jimmy, thanks a lot for doing all the work on the bus.
22:54Oh, it was a pleasure.
22:55Amazing.
22:55It was a pleasure.
22:56The old lettering gone,
22:58Martin is focused on getting the best of British branding up.
23:01We've got a logo for each side of the bus
23:04and one for the back.
23:06Oh, the best.
23:06Dresses it up a little bit with our logo.
23:08I think that's all it needs, really.
23:10And then we've got one with the name Lucy
23:12to go on the side of the bus.
23:14Put it on the driver's door.
23:15On the driver's door.
23:16And that's the number of the bus and our destination,
23:19which is here.
23:20So I think it'll look really cool.
23:22With the clock ticking,
23:23Jimmy gets straight to work.
23:25You remind me of normal wisdom up there, Jim.
23:27Yeah.
23:29We're going quite big on this today with live music.
23:31The unveiling of Lucy, the bus.
23:33St. George guy comes dressed as St. George.
23:35He's going to be slaying the dragon.
23:36We've got the unicorn back today,
23:38which is great for the kids.
23:39So I'm really hoping people turn out for it,
23:42even though it's a Wednesday.
23:43It's a bit of a tricky day.
23:44It's a work day,
23:44but I'm hoping we'll have plenty of people here.
23:47I think he's doing a great job
23:48and it's going to look really cool.
23:50There we go.
23:53That looks brilliant.
23:55Whilst Jimmy works and Martin watches,
23:58pub manager and Jimmy's wife Anne
24:00is preparing her surprise addition
24:01to today's celebration.
24:05Today we have St. George coming down later
24:09and he has to slay a dragon, doesn't he?
24:12So guess who the dragon's going to be?
24:15It's going to be our own Mr. Martin.
24:22She needs to make sure the dragon suit is up to scratch.
24:26So we put the battery pack onto the blower.
24:33Pumps a gore.
24:37Little tub head in there.
24:40Now we've got to get Mr. T in it.
24:45Oh, my God, this is so funny.
24:48Got to think of a name for him.
24:49Dennis.
24:50Dennis the dodgy dragon.
24:54Lucy the boss is now fully branded
24:56and ready to pull in the customers.
24:59That looks really good, doesn't it?
25:00Yeah, that looks perfect.
25:01Just needed that little touch, didn't it?
25:02Yeah.
25:03And then you get the people pictures.
25:04Yeah.
25:06Instagramable jimmy, they call it.
25:07That's what the kids call it these days.
25:09It's nearly 2 p.m.
25:11and the staff are putting on the final touches
25:13before the guests arrive.
25:21Hi, guys.
25:22How you doing?
25:22Good to see you.
25:24So, it's now 5 to 2.
25:27The singers have just arrived.
25:29I really want to have a successful day today.
25:31Things need pain for.
25:32I hope we'll get a good response today
25:33and people spend a few quid.
25:35What Martin doesn't know is
25:37that he's been lined up to play the dragon.
25:39God save our gracious king.
25:50In St. Pete Beach,
25:5214-year-old Billy is off to play for his football team.
25:55Our soccer, as he now calls it.
25:57I'm pretty excited.
25:58Pretty excited to play.
25:59Hopefully we'll get a win.
26:01What does this mean as far as the league?
26:03Well, we can't win the league
26:05because the team that's won the league
26:06has already won it.
26:08But we can get second.
26:10Fine.
26:10Success in soccer could be his ticket
26:13to a college scholarship
26:14and give the family finances a helping hand.
26:18You need to make sure
26:19that you put in 110%.
26:22Your place is not certain for next season.
26:25So, you've got to play every game
26:27like it's your last game
26:29and like you're trying out.
26:30That's what I was going to say, actually.
26:32It's very nice to have parents
26:34that support you with everything you do.
26:36My dad mostly takes me to training
26:38and he knows a bit more about football
26:39so he can give me some post-match talks.
26:42He'll never miss one of my games
26:43and it's great to have a supporter cheering on us.
26:47Billy heads off to get ready for the game.
26:49Good luck.
26:50When I first moved to Florida,
26:51it was a win experience,
26:53kind of getting used to the culture
26:56and the people.
26:57Playing football or soccer here
26:59really helped me to get more social
27:01and then it kind of just grew from there.
27:04Billy's coach Ryan is another Brit from Nottingham.
27:07He's been in Florida for four years.
27:09Joined the Chargers two years ago,
27:12coached in England at a local team
27:14and then just sort of fell into the head coach role.
27:18There you go.
27:19Great finish.
27:20Ryan's son Cohen is also on the team
27:22so Ryan wants to give the boys
27:24something special to look back on.
27:26When I was playing for Pheasant Colts
27:28in Nottingham at 11 to 15,
27:30some of my fondest memories were
27:31winning the league
27:32and getting to the finals of tournaments
27:34and I want these boys to have the same thing.
27:37As kick-off nears,
27:38it's time for a last-minute team talk.
27:41Remember today,
27:42we've got two games left,
27:43win both those games,
27:44we've finished second in the league.
27:46Right, huddle up,
27:47let's make it happen.
27:48Three, two, three,
27:49one, two, three,
27:51let's go.
27:53Chris, let's go.
27:57All the way, all the way!
27:59It's important for Billy
28:00to play well,
28:02to get scouted for a scholarship
28:04at a college
28:05and I'm sure his parents
28:07would be really happy
28:07if he got his college fees paid for
28:09because of his football inability.
28:11There's a lot of pressure on Billy.
28:13I just wouldn't push him
28:15into doing football
28:16if he didn't want to do it
28:17or any of his sports
28:18because, you know,
28:19I feel like the passion
28:20needs to come from them.
28:22Right, do something with it, Billy!
28:24Nice!
28:25Go, go, go!
28:25Oh, I love it!
28:30Come on, we need more of that, Chargers!
28:32Come on!
28:33Growing up,
28:34I had a great time with my family,
28:36I really did.
28:38And then,
28:38had a falling out with my dad.
28:40It sort of spurned me on
28:42to be a better family man,
28:44doing stuff with my kids
28:45that my dad didn't do with me.
28:47My family is everything,
28:49Donna and the two boys.
28:50I'm proud of them,
28:51all of them,
28:52every one of them.
28:52I need to make them proud of me as well.
28:54It's not just making them food
28:56and taking them to football
28:57and that.
28:58I want to go out
28:59and earn some money
29:00and that's what I'm going to do.
29:03on the pitch,
29:04Billy's struggling to find his rhythm.
29:07Hey,
29:08Billy,
29:09Zach,
29:10that's why that happened,
29:11didn't it?
29:12You know it.
29:13No shot,
29:14no shot!
29:15Well done!
29:16Hey, Bill,
29:17that there,
29:17you've got to be stronger, mate.
29:19You know it,
29:20you know it.
29:21At halftime,
29:22the game is goalless
29:23and Billy isn't happy
29:24with his performance.
29:26Playing in the position
29:27I don't want to play.
29:28He's playing me
29:29in the wrong position.
29:31Will he be able
29:32to turn it round
29:33in the second half?
29:41Just over the bay,
29:42in Tampa,
29:43the day's not over
29:44for real estate consultant,
29:46Justine.
29:46She has a luxury
29:48sunset cruise to run.
29:50So when I spoke
29:50to the yacht dealer,
29:51they were trying
29:52to get us the 75 foot
29:53and I kept booking
29:54because I thought
29:55that we were okay
29:56with the 75 foot.
29:57But when I look outside,
29:59I can see
29:59it's definitely a 54 foot.
30:01So there's a good possibility
30:02we've overbooked
30:02our guest list this season.
30:05With the yacht
30:06looking a little
30:06on the snug side,
30:08Justine needs to make sure
30:09there's enough space
30:10for all her potential clients.
30:12I think we'll have
30:13about 16 guests
30:14and then about 20,
30:1620,
30:17223 of us total
30:18on the boat.
30:20I think I could live here,
30:21actually.
30:22I don't think
30:22we're going to have
30:23an issue tonight.
30:23I think we've got
30:24plenty of room
30:25for everybody.
30:26And while it's not
30:27as long as the other one,
30:28it's very wide.
30:29So everybody
30:30can kind of spread out.
30:31For peace of mind,
30:33Justine double checks
30:34with Morgan
30:34from the yacht brokers.
30:36Hey, how are you?
30:37Good, how are you?
30:38I'm well, thank you.
30:39Nice to see you.
30:40So we're going to be okay
30:41with the number of people
30:41we have, right?
30:42Yes.
30:43Yeah?
30:43Because we've got,
30:44you think,
30:44because the weather's okay
30:45so we can have them
30:46on two floors?
30:47Yes, definitely.
30:47You can go up
30:48onto the bow,
30:49hang out up there,
30:49hang out on the back,
30:50up top and here.
30:51So it's not going
30:52to be an issue then?
30:53All right,
30:53because I was panicking
30:54a little bit.
30:54Oh gosh.
30:55Okay.
30:58Hi, Captain Mosley.
30:59Justine.
30:59Hi, Justine.
31:00Nice to meet you.
31:00Nice to meet you as well.
31:02So where are we going
31:02out tonight?
31:03Just out in the...
31:04Oh, we're going out
31:05to play with the dolphins.
31:06I love it.
31:09Let me see.
31:11Oh, I'm too little
31:12to be a captain.
31:13Wow.
31:15Powerful.
31:16I like it.
31:17Tampa Bay is on the west
31:18coast of Florida.
31:18You get the most amazing
31:20sunsets.
31:21I mean, they are every
31:22shade of pink and purple
31:23and they're really
31:24quite stunning.
31:25Everybody will go
31:25on the boat at 6.
31:276.30, we'll leave
31:28the marina.
31:29As the event nears
31:30and the sun's over
31:31the yardarm,
31:32there's just time
31:33for a G&T.
31:35Changed my outfit,
31:36ready to go,
31:37ready for the party,
31:38waiting for the guests
31:38to arrive,
31:39so having a quick
31:39gin and tonic
31:40while we wait.
31:41With the first arrival
31:42stepping on board,
31:43the evening is
31:44officially underway.
31:45How are you?
31:46We said hello.
31:47We said hello again.
31:48On the sunset cruise,
31:50it's a mix of
31:50different clients.
31:51They're either looking
31:52to buy at Marina Point
31:53or they're somehow
31:54working with us.
31:56There's always a lot
31:56of British companies
31:57that are moving
31:58into town.
31:58Some of the local
31:59leadership from Tampa,
32:01so it's good PR.
32:02We have enough
32:03of everything.
32:04We've got ice
32:05and everything we need.
32:05We have beer and wine
32:06options, a few alcohol
32:08options as a basic mixers.
32:09Super.
32:09Absolutely.
32:10Okay.
32:11And then hors d'oeuvres,
32:11just picky bits
32:12and everything.
32:13We have some fruits
32:13and cheeses for you
32:14as long as it's
32:15Italian-edged pasta.
32:17Okay.
32:17Fantastic.
32:18It'll be a fantastic evening.
32:19I certainly set
32:20high standards
32:21for things that I do
32:22and I don't like
32:22doing things
32:23when they don't go well
32:24because it reflects poorly
32:25not just on me
32:26but on everybody
32:28on the whole team.
32:29So yes,
32:30hopefully it's going
32:30to go well.
32:32All the guests
32:32accounted for.
32:34Is everybody here?
32:35Everybody's here.
32:35Awesome.
32:36Good to go.
32:36The captain's going
32:37to get us ready to go.
32:38You have all your forms?
32:39You've got everything
32:39you need?
32:40Yep.
32:40Finish it up right now.
32:41Beautiful.
32:42All right.
32:42Let me know if you need it.
32:43Thanks, Morgan.
32:44As the yacht heads
32:45for open waters,
32:47Justine's fingers are crossed
32:48that our potential buyers
32:49will be impressed.
33:04In St. Pete Beach,
33:06Donna and Dan
33:07are cheering on
33:08their youngest son,
33:09Billy.
33:10I love coming
33:11to watch Billy.
33:12Sometimes I don't know
33:13why you come to tell you
33:14because you get stressed
33:15the whole time.
33:16You stress me out
33:17more than the game does.
33:19I can vouch for that.
33:22I thought we were friends.
33:23You'd rather have me
33:24side with you
33:25over your way?
33:25Of course.
33:26I've been married
33:27a long time.
33:27I know about it.
33:30Since we've been here,
33:31we've met
33:32some wonderful friends.
33:34Everyone wants
33:34to help each other.
33:35They really do.
33:37Everyone wants
33:38to help you.
33:39And I've no doubt
33:40that that's going to
33:40help me going forward.
33:42On the pitch,
33:43Billy's team
33:43soon takes the lead.
33:45Yeah!
33:48And it's not long
33:49before they score again
33:50to go 2-0.
33:51Yeah!
33:52If Billy wants
33:53to go to CDM,
33:54he can play a chance.
33:54It's not being
33:55Billy's best match,
33:56but he's looking
33:57to raise his game.
33:59Well done, Billy.
34:00Well done, Billy.
34:01Coach Ryan
34:01wasn't very happy
34:02with me.
34:03I wasn't really happy
34:04with myself either.
34:04I wasn't really
34:05playing up to my standards.
34:06I want to improve
34:07a lot more.
34:08Go on, Billy.
34:10Go on, go on.
34:13Get there, Damien.
34:15Oh, lucky.
34:17Good boy, Billy.
34:18Good boy, Billy.
34:20The final whistle
34:21is blown.
34:23Yeah, well done.
34:26A big win.
34:27Coach Ryan
34:27has a few words
34:28for the team.
34:29And we battled for it.
34:302-0 win, boys.
34:31You should be proud
34:31of yourselves.
34:32Next weekend,
34:33the final game
34:33of the season.
34:34If we get that win,
34:35then we finish
34:36second in the league.
34:37But has Billy
34:38done enough
34:39to secure his place
34:40in the team
34:41moving forward?
34:42Right, Bill,
34:43during that game,
34:43first off,
34:44your press high
34:45wasn't quite there.
34:46That's why we moved
34:46you for that second half.
34:48You did the job
34:48perfectly,
34:49so well done.
34:50Your communication
34:51with your teammates
34:52was probably better today
34:53than I've seen it
34:54for a few weeks.
34:54So keep that going
34:55in the next game.
34:56A positive finish
34:57to the game
34:58for Billy.
34:59Good win.
35:00Yeah, good win.
35:01You enjoyed it.
35:02Yeah, it was fun.
35:04Time for the family
35:05to head out
35:05on a friend's boat
35:06and enjoy
35:07what they came
35:08to Florida for.
35:14I love this boat
35:15so much.
35:16It's my favourite boat.
35:18It's my favourite too.
35:19We are going to Shell Quay,
35:22which is a little island
35:23near our house.
35:24Well, it's like
35:25about 15 minutes
35:26on a boat.
35:27It's not a swim.
35:28And we're going to go there
35:30and have some fun
35:31in the water
35:31and celebrate
35:32Billy's win.
35:33Yay!
35:36My parents first told me
35:37about moving to Florida.
35:38I didn't really
35:39want to move in England.
35:40I wouldn't expect
35:40after one of my football matches
35:41to have a boat
35:42picking me up
35:43from my back garden.
35:44The lifestyle
35:45is completely different.
35:46You know,
35:47the weather,
35:47the school
35:48has been great for me.
35:49I can't really ask
35:50for much more.
35:55Also out in the water
35:56in Tampa Bay,
35:58real estate consultant
35:59Justine
36:00has organised
36:00a sunset yacht party,
36:02part of her strategy
36:03to market
36:04her prime
36:05waterside development.
36:07The purpose of the event
36:08is I want to make sure
36:09that the clients
36:09that are moving
36:11to Marina Point
36:11and all of the influential
36:13people are aware of us
36:14because even if they're
36:15not looking to buy,
36:16they certainly
36:17have the ability
36:18to connect with us
36:20in some way,
36:21shape or form.
36:22Justine
36:23was counting
36:24on a cameo
36:24from Florida's marine life
36:26to help sell
36:26the waterfront drain.
36:28We're on the hunt
36:29for dolphins.
36:30They seem to have been hiding
36:31and I think it's your fault
36:33because all day long
36:34you've been teasing
36:35everybody about dolphins.
36:37And they're all day,
36:38every day,
36:38they're outside,
36:39aren't they?
36:39I don't know.
36:40They seem to have eluded us
36:41today.
36:41But we always see dolphins.
36:43But then when you're
36:43trying to sell a lifestyle,
36:44the dolphins go
36:45and they hide.
36:47All eyes might be peeled
36:49for dolphins,
36:49but are the guests
36:50having a good time?
36:52Beautiful yacht.
36:53I live in the tower
36:54that we just left
36:56and it's so convenient,
36:57you know,
36:58because we have a marina
36:59right below
37:00and it's beautiful.
37:01So on a day like today,
37:02how could you not love this?
37:04I'm selling a house
37:05in England tomorrow
37:05and definitely
37:07would love the opportunity
37:08to consider retirement
37:10at some point.
37:11So I came down today
37:12to have a look at it
37:12very seriously.
37:14How could you not?
37:15It's paradise.
37:16It's paradise for us Brits,
37:17right?
37:18All sides point
37:19to the cruise
37:20being a success
37:20for Justine.
37:23As the sun dips
37:24below the horizon,
37:25It's beautiful.
37:27It is so beautiful.
37:28The captain sets
37:29a course back
37:30to the marina.
37:31I think it was
37:32a nice trip.
37:33Everybody seemed
37:34enjoying.
37:35Nobody fell over for her.
37:37It was a good day.
37:38I've asked myself,
37:39would I be successful
37:41if I had stayed
37:42in the UK?
37:43I think that there's
37:43more opportunity
37:44in the US.
37:46I think living here
37:47and being a shy
37:48English girl
37:49that was trying
37:50to figure out
37:51how to make it work
37:51over here
37:52taught me to face
37:54being shy.
37:55That changed me.
37:56I think I'm somebody
37:57different.
37:58Would I have been
37:58as successful?
37:59Who knows?
38:01With the evening over,
38:02the guests head for home.
38:05Very fun.
38:06It was a pleasure.
38:07Okay.
38:07So we will reconnect.
38:09Nice to meet you.
38:11This was wonderful.
38:13And Justine can take
38:14stock of how it all went.
38:16That was excellent.
38:17That was excellent.
38:18Ten out of ten.
38:19I mean, that's why
38:19we do this.
38:20The people that are on it,
38:21yes, I think that we'll
38:22end up probably getting
38:23a contract out of it,
38:24but you never know
38:25who's then going to
38:25tell their friends,
38:26this is where you
38:27should be living.
38:33I thought that was
38:33a brilliant night.
38:34Yeah, me too.
38:37So what's next?
38:38Selling more condos.
38:39Getting construction
38:40started on Tower 2,
38:41and then after that
38:42on Tower 3,
38:44and that's it.
38:45Just sell, sell, sell.
38:55Over in Claremont,
38:57Poboda Martin's
38:58St George's Day event
38:59is up and running.
39:01So John's going to
39:02start singing now
39:02with all your favourite hits.
39:04Sure.
39:05And some of my own hits.
39:06Some of his own hits.
39:07Let's get a drink.
39:08Happy St George's Day,
39:09everyone.
39:09Thanks for coming.
39:10Cheers, guys.
39:11I'm really hoping
39:11people respond to it
39:13like they do for
39:14St Patrick's Day
39:14and stuff.
39:15We want to make
39:15St George's Day
39:16just as big a day
39:17over here.
39:17To mark the occasion,
39:19they've unveiled
39:20Martin's latest attraction.
39:22If anybody wants
39:23a picture with Lucy,
39:24a new double-decker bus,
39:26feel free to do so.
39:27And it looks like
39:28Lucy is doing her job.
39:30Today I came here
39:31for St George's Day
39:32to see this lovely bus.
39:34Isn't it great
39:34for the bar
39:35to have this bus?
39:36It's just fabulous.
39:38It's an amazing bus.
39:39Yeah, it's certainly
39:41different, that's for sure.
39:42When I was in London
39:43as a boy,
39:43we always used to see that.
39:44He'd come down and see.
39:45A familiar face
39:46at the pub,
39:47Sir William has arrived
39:49with his trusty
39:50unicorn in tow.
39:51Yeah, unicorn.
39:53This is when you've made it
39:55and when you have
39:55your squires dressing you.
39:57And Anne has a job for him.
39:59Sir William,
40:00you are St George
40:00and your job today
40:03is to slay the dragon.
40:06As St George
40:07and the unicorns
40:08start the festivities,
40:10there's one detail
40:12Anne needs to share.
40:13Martin has to play the dragon.
40:16You want me to dress up
40:17like a dragon?
40:18No, you are going to be
40:20the dragon.
40:21You've got little air things
40:21in there that blows it up
40:23and you'll look beautiful.
40:25What am I doing?
40:27Surely there are better ways
40:28to earn a living.
40:30It's all right,
40:31you laughing,
40:32guns,
40:33for God's sake.
40:37Fully in character
40:38and bathed in nylon
40:39on one of the hottest
40:40days of the year so far,
40:42Martin is giving it
40:43his all.
40:44I'm going to have a heart attack.
40:47It's time for St George
40:48to face the dragon.
40:52St George,
40:53we've got a problem.
40:55What is your problem?
40:56We found a dragon
40:57hanging about.
40:59A good dragon
40:59or a bad dragon?
41:00No, a very bad dragon.
41:01Oh, very bad.
41:01Very bad.
41:03Stink?
41:03Yeah.
41:03Oh.
41:04It needs to be eliminated.
41:06Roar!
41:08Roar!
41:10Roar!
41:11Take me to St George.
41:13I have never faced a dragon
41:14as fierce as this.
41:15Should the dragon die?
41:17Yes!
41:18Roar!
41:21Roar!
41:23Roar!
41:23Roar!
41:23Roar!
41:25Roar!
41:25Roar!
41:25Roar!
41:29Roar!
41:29Roar!
41:32Now everyone get a fork
41:34and have some.
41:35The dragon defeated,
41:36Martin returns
41:37to his usual self.
41:39The kids love it.
41:40It's about entertainment,
41:41isn't it?
41:41We're a pub,
41:42we want people
41:42to enjoy themselves
41:43and I think it just
41:44gave people a laugh
41:45and that's all it's about.
41:47With the day winding down,
41:49it's time for selfies
41:50and pims
41:51and for Martin
41:52to reflect on how well
41:53the launch of Lucy
41:54the big red bus has got.
41:56Big smiles!
41:58There we go.
41:59Today has been
42:00absolutely brilliant.
42:01The response from
42:02everybody in the community
42:03has been so good.
42:04So, over the moon,
42:06absolutely over the moon.
42:07We can only get stronger now
42:08and grow
42:09and just really settle
42:10into the area
42:10and become
42:12Best of British.
42:13There we are.
42:34We'll see you next time.
