01:51Tonight's patch of brave quarterfinalists are waiting nervously backstage to take on the toughest game show on telly.
01:58Well, let's bring them out, shall we?
01:59Yes, let's do that.
02:01Please welcome back, Ellie and Naomi.
02:11In the heat, six female contenders saw off the competition to make it to the quarterfinals.
02:17Tonight, Naomi and Ellie will battle the gladiators before facing off against each other in the Eliminator for a place
02:24in the semis.
02:25First up is Scottish-born veterinary surgeon Ellie, who put in a dogged performance in the heats.
02:32On Unleash, she managed to evade Electro, but fell short of the flag for five points.
02:37On Dual, she showcased a staying power, scrapping with savour and standing tall.
02:44That helmet was the only thing keeping my head on.
02:48In the Eliminator, she overcame a six and a half seconds deficit and after two determined attempts on the travelator,
02:55swung her way into the quarterfinals.
02:58When you get put down, you get back up again and you keep trying.
03:02Business consultant Naomi had no trouble stepping out of the office and into the arena to face the gladiators.
03:09She put in a plucky performance in Powerball.
03:13They're tough.
03:14Before taking on the edge against Fury, who fumbled.
03:18You've got to give credit to Naomi.
03:21Her one and a half second head start in the Eliminator led to an epic battle up the travelator with
03:26Naomi victorious in the tightest Eliminator ever.

05:07For the female contenders, playing Collision for the first time, it's Ellie.
05:15And she will need to dodge Comet and Electro.
05:22Comet ready to shoot through Collision for a fourth time, perfectly poised and set for a stellar performance.
05:31Electro sprints with speed and swings with precision, one zapping Collision and it'll be lights out for the contender.

05:43Dynamite's an early bird who loves to catch the worm, but nothing thrills her more than swooping in to catch
05:49contenders on Collision.
05:53Any contender expecting a breeze, beware.
05:56A full-on Cyclone is incoming, ready to cause a whirlwind in her Collision debut.
06:03Keeping a keen eye on proceedings is our head referee, the ever-vigilant Mark Clattenburg.

06:25Ellie gets her evening underway.
06:27Managing to dodge Dynamite and keep out of the way of Cyclone, but she's lost the ball.
06:32No points for that first crossing of the Collision bridge.
06:35Now, can Cyclone do it again?
06:37She has a kick out, but misses this time.
06:40Ellie's got to keep moving, she's been reminded of that by assistant referee Lee Phillips.
06:44But she has her first two points, and she has her only two points.
06:48She's also got Cyclone's shoe. It's the only thing Cyclone was ever going to give the contender.
06:59Just one score for Ellie before being caught in a twister. Cyclone means business tonight.

08:31She ducks and sways past Comet and Electro, but now Dynamite's got her.
08:35And Naomi clung onto her legs to stay on the bridge.
08:39That was a good bit of improvisation.
08:42She dodges Dynamite this time, but can't get past Cyclone.

08:53Impressive skill, balance, and speed from Naomi.
08:56But Cyclone's downwind was all it took to sweep her off her feet.

09:56and each other for a place in the semi-finals.
09:59And first up competing for that place is PE teacher, Mark.
10:03He'll be hoping for another grade A performance against the Gladiators.
10:08Last time out on Everest, he sent Giant plummeting to pick up ten points.
10:13That is extraordinary!
10:16He schooled Steel at destruction.
10:19Don't run at it, run through it.
10:21And entered the Eliminator with a three-second lead.
10:24And despite being tested on the Travelator, smashed his way into the quarters.
10:30I actually feel like I'm dreaming.
10:32Tyler from Wigan is the IT teacher looking to make his pupils proud once again.
10:38In destruction, he beat Giant by a whisker.
10:42And his rugby background helped him tackle Gauntlet at breakneck speed.
10:47That entire Gauntlet was done in ten seconds.
10:52Taking a five-second head start into the Eliminator,
10:55he rocketed through the course in just 73 seconds.
11:01The fastest time in all of the heats.

13:00And he needs to avoid Giant and Phantom.
13:06Giant is a towering presence and loves to swing at contenders brave enough to step onto the bridge.
13:12Tonight, he'll be hooping for victory.
13:15I'm going in before the kill.
13:18He might be an apparition, but if Phantom collides with you on collision,
13:21it'll feel very real indeed.

13:28With strength worthy of a god, Apollo leaves anyone he hits in collision utterly shell-shocked.

14:05Mark will be desperately keen to get off to a rapid and point-scoring start, and it looks like he

14:19That was tremendously quick from Mark, and he's going again!
14:23He's like a hair on a bridge up there!

27:15Inside the atmosphere for the very first time it's our male contenders mark in red

28:15Now here comes Giant
28:17Mark has the inside track
28:19Oh, what a brutal metalwork lesson!
28:22And that allows Tyler to steal around the outside
28:25He's got a clear lead now
28:27Here comes Apollo to try and put pain to that

28:32And Mark is rolling nicely as well

36:03Each barrier must be tackled differently
36:06And with a head start, contenders must smash, ram, climb and crash their way to reach the central button
36:14First there picks up 10 points, the second scores 5
36:18If the Gladiator reigns supreme, the runner up gets 5
36:22And the last, nothing but dust and defeat
36:28Playing distraction for the male contenders, in red it's Josh
36:33And in blue it's Tyler

36:39And smashing against them will be Nitro

45:23I think because I'm so scary and intimidating

50:06First up, our female contenders go head-to-head for a semi-final spot

50:13And that converts into a one-second lead for the eliminator

50:35So, Naomi with that slender advantage
50:38As they both get it on
50:40Ellie overcame a six and a half second deficit
50:43To win through in her heat
50:44And look at her, she's caught up Naomi already
50:48Naomi's struggling with that rope
50:50She couldn't get onto the platform first time round
50:53So it's turned around
50:54And it's Ellie who's going to complete the overhead ladders first
50:58Before swinging across to the cargo net

51:03And Ellie had a problem on clipping the trapeze
51:06We've seen that before
51:07And they leap onto the net together
51:09Anything that costs you even half a second

54:43With Tyler already on the overhead ladders

54:47He has raced across those
54:49Josh leaps on and he's going at a pretty good lick too
54:53Tyler with a great big jump onto the cargo net
54:57His lead is about the same as it was when we started
55:00Or but maybe not now
55:01Josh is closing

55:05Tyler gets to the top of the cargo net

55:10Been a mistake-free eliminator from both contenders
55:13If it stays that way
55:15Then Tyler will be in the semi-finals
55:17He flies down the zip line
55:19And that's a really good landing
55:21That was controlled
55:22Josh will still fancy his chances here though
55:25He's done well as he comes back down to earth
55:27And there's the first mistake
55:29A wobble from Tyler, he's down
55:31Josh is able to close the gap significantly here
55:35And Tyler will really have to watch his step from now on

55:40And he sets his sights on the travelator
