00:00Xbox Game Pass is too expensive. This has been a common complaint since last year,
00:05but now it seems Xbox is also nodding in agreement. According to a new report,
00:10Microsoft's gaming CEO Asha Sharma admitted in a leaked internal memo that Xbox Game Pass
00:16has become too expensive for players. That probably won't surprise anyone who's been
00:21keeping an eye on the price of Game Pass lately. Last year Microsoft hiked the price of Game Pass
00:26Ultimate by about 50%, pushing it up to roughly $30 a month, which is a big jump for what used
00:32to be seen as one of the best deals in gaming. In the memo, Sharma says the current model just
00:37isn't working long term and that Xbox needs to find what she calls a better value equation,
00:44basically make it feel worth it again. So what's the plan? Well, nothing concrete just yet, but the
00:50idea seems to be moving toward a more flexible system, so maybe cheaper tiers, maybe different
00:56options depending on what you actually want to play. It sounds like Xbox is still figuring it out,
01:01but for the moment we're just glad it's aware of the Game Pass pricing problem.
