00:00If you were planning to buy an Xbox and haven't already, you might want to do so before August 1st,
00:05as console prices are going up again.
00:07Microsoft has announced yet another worldwide Xbox console price increase, the third one since 2025,
00:13this time bringing 512GB models up $100 and driving up the price of 1TB models by an eye-watering $150.
00:22Meanwhile, the 2TB Series X is being discontinued.
00:25A quote from Xbox puts the blame squarely at the feet of the current component crisis.
00:30They stated,
00:30We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers
00:35on options.
00:36Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5 times,
00:41and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.
00:45While they haven't provided official updated prices yet, the upgraded changes should look something like this.

01:07For context, the lowest Xbox Series S model will soon be the same price the highest Series X model was

01:14The component crisis is not just affecting Xbox, however,
01:17with both PlayStation and Nintendo recently increasing the prices on their respective consoles too.
