00:04President Claudia Sheinbaum led the return of land to organized farmers in San Salvador de Atenco this Sunday.
00:11During the commemoration of the events that took place on May 3rd and 4th of 2006,
00:16the head of state was keen to emphasize that never again would there be repression against the people.
00:21She was referring to the operation ordered by then-Governor Enrique Peña Nieto
00:27and President Vicente Fox, which resulted in serious human rights violations,
00:31including torture, sexual violence, and arbitrary detentions.
00:35As part of the justice plan for Atenco and La Montaña,
00:38the president returned 54.5 hectares to members of the Front of Peoples in defense of the land.
00:44For the affected communities, this gesture represents a concrete step forward in the recovery of their land.
