00:00The American Association of Churis condemns the escalation of hostilities by the administration
00:05of U.S. President Donald Trump against the Republic of Cuba, which has escalated from
00:10the imposition of economic sanctions to direct threats of military intervention in flower
00:14and violation of international law, the United Nations Charter and the principles governing
00:18relations between sovereign states.
00:21In light of this grave and dangerous situation that threatens Cuba peace on the continent
00:26and the international order, the AAJ condemns in the strongest terms the threats to take
00:31military control of Cuba, calls to opponents UN Secretary General António Guterres to demand
00:36respect for the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, demands
00:41that the government of the United States immediately see threats of the use of force against Cuba,
00:47or just the member states of the United Nations to speak out firmly against the military threats
00:53against Cuba, calls for international solidarity among states to denounce this unprecedented
00:58escalation of hostilities and defend the principles of international law.
