00:00Hi guys, and welcome to Nerdy Gaming with the Rabid Beaver. I'm your host, the Elusive
00:04Rabid Beaver, and today we're going to talk about that CMOS bomb that hit. Sony has officially
00:08given us a response, and I don't know how to feel about it. I mean, I've kind of got
00:13mixed emotions about the way that they said it and the way that they've done. I personally
00:17believe if you buy something online, that license is yours. It should be yours for life,
00:21unless you're trying to refund it. When you refund it, that license and that game both
00:26should be able to be wiped. Completely clear. But Sony gave us the reason saying that they are
00:32unable to confirm that license once you purchase the product for 14 days. You have a 14-day return
00:38policy with them. After that 14 days, the license becomes yours, and then you're able to use it. But
00:44it needs a handshake at the 14-day mark and at the 30-day mark in order to confirm it,
00:49and then after
00:50that, the license is yours. Which I think is the dumbest thing ever. I mean, honestly, they're
00:55trying to have complete control over what you can purchase, what you can buy, how you can buy it,
00:59and how you can use that media after you have purchased it. And it makes no sense whatsoever.
01:06And they're saying, I mean, come on, they've already got your account. They've already got
01:09your credit card. They've already got your subscriptions. They've got everything already
01:13attached to your account. You're telling me that they can't say, oh, this license is invalid if you
01:18go to try to start the game or try to steal the game after you've refunded it? I call BS.
01:23I call
01:23the big bullshit on this one. Pardon my language, but I call it. I call it BS. I think that
01:28they were
01:28more than capable of doing it. I think that they're using the 14-day return policy as an excuse to
01:33still
01:33control you, the consumer, on what you can purchase and what you can own and what you can play.
01:39Because there's no excuse for that. There's no excuse for that. Sony can go in and they control,
01:44they can put your entire list of everything you've ever purchased up. They can put your entire list
01:49if anything you ever downloaded up and you can see directly what you have and what license you
01:54have and everything that you've gotten. And then they should also have a return page for it where
01:58you can see what was returned after you bought it. If you didn't like the game, you should be able
02:01to
02:02get a refund. I agree with up to the 14-day thing as far as getting a refund, getting your
02:06refund for
02:06up to 14 days. You've had 14 days to try this game out. And if it's not working for you,
02:10it's not
02:11working for you. You should be able to get the refund. But as soon as you apply to get that
02:14refund,
02:15the license should be pulled automatically from that game. If you're refunding that game, the
02:20license should be pulled from it. It's not a, hey, we're going to download this. We've already got the
02:24license on it. Let's get a refund now. And we're going to still use this game because people are
02:28stealing from us. Absolutely not. I could not agree more with anybody that's posted over the last
02:35four days over the CMOS bomb thing that's been going on. And I'm going to tell you right now, I
02:39think
02:39it just comes down to complete control. Sony wants complete control over you as a gamer. They want
02:44complete control over what you purchase, over how you purchase it, how you play it, when you play it,
02:49why you play it. And I think it backfired in their face because the community outroar was so loud
02:56that they ended up having to hear it because people walked away from their consoles. People walked away
03:01from their subscriptions. And you know the best way to hurt them is hurt them in the wallet, baby. And
03:06that's exactly what happened. So that's just a quick update about what's going on with Sony. And in the
03:11days to come, we're going to see, in the days to come, we're going to see how true it is
03:16about their
03:1714-day policy. And if the CMOS bomb is still going to be activated in the future. Now, Sony has
03:22come
03:22out and said that that's not true. It's not going to happen, but we're going to watch and see and
03:26see
03:26what happens. Until next time, thank you for being here with Nerdy Gaming with a Rabid Beaver. Hit that
03:31like, hit that follow, hit that subscribe wherever you're at. It's absolutely free to you. I don't charge
