00:00Hello, and welcome to Just Basketball with a Rabid Beaver.
00:04Hope you guys are doing wonderful out there today in the world of basketball or wherever
00:08you guys are at.
00:08You're joining me live from my dining room studio currently, as our home studio is still
00:15being a little bit renovated out here.
00:17But we were going to talk to you about the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers.
00:21Now, we went over a little bit of the ref situation the other day with Game 2.
00:25Game 3 has come and gone.
00:28And I've got to tell you, you know, you want to gripe about everything.
00:31You want to gripe about how the refs were treating you.
00:33You were on your home court and you didn't even get it.
00:35And you had more free throw attempts this time.
00:37You had 25 free throw attempts, whereas Oklahoma City only had 10 free throw attempts throughout
00:43the game.
00:44So, I mean, there's a lot of stuff that you can say, but you can't say that the refs
00:48aren't trying to help you.
00:48They're trying to give you free points.
00:50You just ain't taking advantage of it properly.
00:52The other thing is you got father time on your team.
00:54He went 17 of 19 last night, three of four from three throw.
00:59He had six rebounds, eight assists.
01:01He had three turnovers overall, and he was a negative 24 on the floor.
01:05Anytime you have anybody that's in the negative on the floor, you're not going to be doing
01:08good.
01:09One player, okay.
01:10But you got two, three, four players that are negative on the floor last night, and they're
01:15in the negative 20s.
01:16That's the thing that's going to kill you, man.
01:18I mean, Rui was 7 of 14 last night.
01:22I mean, so he was 50% from the floor.
01:25DeAndre Ayton was 5 of 9, even though he didn't look great, and he airballed a couple
01:30times, and he turned the ball over quite a bit, even though it says that he didn't here.
01:35He had it stolen from him twice.
01:37You know, he was minus 8 on the floor last night.
01:40Your entire starting team was in the negative on the floor in plus minus.
01:45Marcus Smart was negative 22 on the floor last night, so 3 of 7 from the field.
01:51And then you had Austin Reeves, who is 5 of 13 from the field, 6 of 8 from the free
01:55throw
01:56line.
01:56He had 9 assists, though.
01:57He got 5 turnovers total last night.
02:00And like I said, I think two of those turnovers, one of them was to DeAndre Ayton for sure,
02:05and he missed it.
02:06And the other one was off of a shot.
02:08DeAndre Ayton turned it over.
02:09But they're not giving it to him at that.
02:11They're just saying that it just was out.
02:13And then on the flip side, Alex Caruso was plus 11 last night, and Carson Wallace was plus
02:1913 last night.
02:20SGA, I believe, was plus 24 last night on the floor.
02:25I mean, anytime you're playing a team, and their entire starting, the entire starting
02:31crew was in pluses.
02:33So, Hartenstein was 26.
02:36Chet Holgram was plus 18.
02:37Shea was 24.
02:39Dort was 21.
02:40And Mitchell was 14 on the floor.
02:43And then your bench, you had two players.
02:44Carson Wallace was plus 13.
02:45And Alex Caruso was plus 11 on the floor.
02:48And we're not even mentioning the fact that you all just gave up.
02:52The Lakers just gave up last night.
02:53I mean, let's call it what it is.
02:55A spade is a spade is a spade is a spade.
02:58You cannot, you cannot win games if you're not mentally and physically tough.
03:05If you don't have what it takes mentally to go through it, and I understand where you're
03:09coming from saying that the refs aren't helping you.
03:11The refs aren't giving you all the calls.
03:12The refs aren't doing anything, but they literally did give you everything that you
03:17wanted last night.
03:18Everything and then some, and you still screwed it up.
03:22You still weren't able to come over the top of it.
03:25You still weren't able to make it.
03:27You want to know why?
03:27Because your leader checked out.
03:29When your leader checks out, everybody else follows suit.
03:32Everything flows from the head down.
03:34If you got a piss poor attitude and the leader has a piss poor attitude, everybody else is going
03:38to have a piss poor attitude.
03:39You got a leader that wants to take care of you and make sure that you're taken care
03:42of.
03:43That leader is going to do everything in his power possible to make sure that his people
03:47are good and he's going to watch them as they go through.
03:50Your leader sucks.
03:51Your leader has always sucked mentally on the floor.
03:54When the going gets tough, he hops and runs and he leaves every single time.
03:59I don't think that this is going to be any different.
04:01The question is, how long is it going to be before he leaves?
04:04Is it going to be after this series?
04:05Is he going to just determine that he's going to go somewhere else and finish his day somewhere
04:09else?
04:10Is he going to be superstar hunting again?
04:12I mean, he's done it in the past.
04:14He did it.
04:16He did it leaving Cleveland, going directly to Miami.
04:20Then he did it coming out of Miami, going back to Cleveland.
04:23And now he did it trying to go to LA and he can't do crap with any of them.
04:27That's the thing that you guys don't understand is real legends are forging their own path
04:33and they're making people around them better.
04:36And come hell or high water, they're trying their best to stay with whoever they've got.
04:41Now, there are some exceptions to the rule here.
04:43I'll give Shaq a pass on this.
04:45The reason I give Shaq a pass on this is because the man was just dominant everywhere he went.
04:50He was truly dominant everywhere he went besides that Boston jersey that he wore.
04:55Everywhere he went, he was dominant.
04:57And they had special rules specifically for Shaq.
05:00Nobody has rules specifically for LeBron James.
05:04Nobody fears LeBron James.
05:05Nobody fears coming into a game against him because they know that if they can just get him
05:12mentally weak, if they can get into his mind and play games with him, he's going to fold
05:17like a freaking deck of cards and it's going to be over with the rest of the entire series.
05:23And that's exactly what's happened here.
05:25And he's just weak.
05:27He's weak mentally and it's showing in his leadership ability and his leadership style.
05:31And all he's done is taught his players how to gripe and complain and cry to the refs
05:36and beg for fouls.
05:38And you know what?
05:38It's not working anymore.
05:40Nobody is buying what you're selling anymore.
05:43And they're not going to buy it very much longer in LA.
05:46It's time for a rebuild in LA.
05:48If LA is going to be successful, if they're going to do what it takes to win there, it's
05:53time right now for a rebuild.
05:56This should show you it's already over with.
05:59Bring out the brooms, baby.
06:00Get the sweep going.
06:01Even if LA wins one game in this series, it's not going to matter.
06:07Everybody already knows OKC is going to take over and they're going to destroy the Los
06:12Angeles Lakers.
06:14Like I said, I'm calling it right now.
06:16I think the broom is coming out.
06:17I think it's going to be a sweep.
06:18I think that it's already over.
06:21They're too far behind.
06:23No team has ever come back from a 3-0 like this.
06:25LeBron James has tried several times, but I don't think that he's going to be successful
06:30even in this parameter that he's got going on, this time period he's got going on.
06:36I don't think that he's going to be successful.
06:38He would have to reverse the clock almost 20 years to be the player of old, not the player
06:44of new that he is.
06:45And we see he's posting up a lot more.
06:48He's trying to get closer to the rim, getting more fouls at the rim.
06:51I can't fault him for that.
06:53Where I can fault him is he's not any good anymore.
06:57You all want to put him on the pedestal and say he's still the best in the league.
07:01He's still this.
07:01He's still that.
07:02He's still breaking records every day.
07:04Well, those records mean nothing when you're missing wide open layups by yourself.
07:11On multiple occasions, not just an isolated incident.
07:17Nobody even near you and you're missing wide open layups.
07:23Or you're whistle chasing.
07:26You whistle chase all the time.
07:29Every time you touch the ball, I want the whistle.
07:32Give me the whistle.
07:33It's my turn to get the whistle.
07:34You didn't see that.
07:35I need the whistle right now.
07:37And then you want to gripe about it to everybody around you.
07:40What needs to come back is the technical foul.
07:44You want to get hot and heated with a ref?
07:47Boom.
07:48Give them the tea, baby.
07:50Give them the tea.
07:51Doesn't matter who they are.
07:53The technical foul comes back.
07:55You want to gripe that up?
07:56You want to piss poor and pinter tantrum everywhere all over the court?
08:0090 feet on the court?
08:01Technical foul.
08:02Now, that's what needs to happen.
08:05It needs to happen to Austin Reeves when he does it.
08:07It needs to happen to Luka when he does it.
08:09It needs to happen to LeBron James when he does it.
08:11And your leader, the man that you guys follow, to the grave,
08:16that's supposedly the greatest of all time,
08:18is the worst one about it who needs it the most.
08:22Your job is to put the basket in the hoop.
08:25Shut up and play.
08:26That's your job, LeBron.
08:29Shut up and play.
08:30It's not to cry 90 feet for 40 minutes of the game that you're in it,
08:35that you're absolutely doing nothing in.
08:40That's just the hot take of the day, guys.
08:42Just basketball with a rabid beaver.
08:44Appreciate you guys for being here.
08:46Hit that like, hit that follow, hit that subscribe.
