00:11When a car is found abandoned near an excavation facility, a search and rescue operation will lead
00:17deputies down a mysterious and treacherous path in their hunt for its missing owner,
00:22whose bizarre history is not enough to prepare officials for what they're about to encounter.
00:35The following report is based on official police records released to date,
00:40and most of the footage has never been seen before until now.
00:43On February 23rd, 2026, a woman in Putnam County, Florida, calls the Sheriff's Department,
00:49unknowingly setting the stage for an extremely unusual multi-agency operation.
01:13The car has been found near a Vulcan Materials gravel and sand excavation facility.
01:21The responding deputy meets with the company manager upon realizing he already had an
01:26encounter with the vehicle's owner three years ago.
01:29What's going on, brother?
01:30All right.
01:31Got some riff-raff running around these days.
01:32I'll tell you, this guy, this guy last time, dude, it was like 2023, I think it was when it
01:38was.
01:38I remember hearing about it.
01:40Yeah, so I remember we had to, he kept going in, kept going in, and we finally got up in
01:45there and
01:46got him caught.
01:46Court records show that Andrew Giddens, the registered owner of the fusion,
01:50was arrested for criminal mischief and trespassing at another Vulcan Materials
01:54processing facility in 2023.
01:57It was weird, man. He had chains and weights and just like,
02:02are you like killing somebody and burying them back here? Like, what are you doing?
02:04At the time, Andrew pled no contest and was sentenced to 12 months probation
02:08in order to pay $2,000 in restitution. It's beginning to look like that wasn't enough of a deterrent.
02:15But then I got thinking, like, on the way back towards town, I was like, wait a minute.
02:20There's sand. See the sand?
02:24Oh, yeah.
02:25So he's definitely the same old M.O., you know?
02:29Yeah.
02:29He just showed me the mud on the seat. Like, that's, that's our pain in the mud.
02:34Like, he's been walking back there somewhere.
02:36Yeah, it's like quite a silty type.
02:38Yeah.
02:39That he was doing weird s**t, but he had, like, chains. He had some kettlebells.
02:44That's what I remember. He was telling, I guess the story, the same thing he was saying was,
02:50I guess he said he was filming YouTube videos.
02:52Yeah.
02:52Yeah, he said he was doing, like, f**king workout videos.
02:54That's in the woods.
02:55Hey, Sarge, I'm going to roll over there. I want to check that fence line.
02:59I want to see if he got, if he cut.
03:00A barbed wire fence surrounds the property, as much for the public safety as the company's.
03:06If he hits that tailwinds mud over there, like, he's done for it. He ain't coming out of it.
03:11He was, he was around water last time.
03:16I don't know, it kind of looks like it's been switched down a little bit.
03:20Yeah.
03:21Yeah, yeah, movement right to the, where the grass is folded down right there.
03:26It's clear sky. We can fly that chopper.
03:28Yeah, right. That's what I'm talking about.
03:30But an aerial search of the property finds no sign of Andrew. And soon the sheriff's
03:35office learns that his disappearance has stretched on for days. Andrew's father tells them he hasn't
03:41seen his son since February 14th, a week earlier, saying it was highly unusual for his son to be out
03:47of contact for that long. Andrew is entered as a missing person, but it's not until two days later
03:53that the Vulcan materials manager calls 911 with an astonishing update.
04:26What's going on?
04:28Yeah, sir.
04:30Is he stuck in there?
04:32Yeah, he's stuck in the mud.
04:34Is he responding to you?
04:36Yeah, he's looking at me, he's talking.
04:39Okay. Can you ask him if he's going to need a rescue?
04:42Yeah, he's going to need somebody. Are you going to need a rescue?
04:46Yes. Ask him what for? What do you feel pain in? Man, he's been missing for 10 days or something
04:58like that. He got caught out here dehydrated.
04:59The situation forces the caller to act as a go-between for Andrew and the operator.
05:04How long has he been there? Can you ask him if he has any idea?
05:08How long you been here, buddy?
05:12When?
05:16I can't understand it, brother. I can't get out there in there with it.
05:21How far away is he from you?
05:24I'm walking back to his truck and get a water right now for him, but he's probably
05:28100 feet from solid, general.
05:32Yeah, a good 50 from solid.
05:34The manager agrees to have someone open the gate for first responders,
05:38though it's not immediately clear how anyone will be able to get Andrew out.
05:42If I can get out and get any of my water out here without going in with him.
05:47He looks in bad condition.
05:51Yeah, he don't look good.
05:52Hey, man. Hey.
05:58Man, I can't get out there to you.
06:01I can't get to you. Here's your water.
06:03It's cold. Be careful.
06:06Yes, sir.
06:07How deep is he in the mud?
06:09He's up to his shoulders.
06:12Andrew, he's thinking like you can do more to sleep since you first called me.
06:17No.
06:18No, he looks like he's been like this for days.
06:20He's got mud shaking all on his head like sun-baked.
06:27So he's shaking in there pretty solid.
06:30Yeah.
06:30Man, brother, I'm fatting out of cake.
06:32I'm about f***ing dying.
06:35You don't need a rescue, do you?
06:37No, no, I think I'm going to be all right.
06:39All right.
06:40All right.
06:40Getting anywhere near Andrew is a risky proposition, as deputies and fire rescue personnel will discover
06:46for themselves before long.
06:48He's moving around.
06:50Let me get up here where I can hear you good.
06:54I got to go around some of this mud.
06:56Hold on.
06:56Yes, sir.
06:57Hey, how you doing down there?
06:58Oh, good.
07:00He said not dead.
07:02Okay.
07:03All right.
07:03Give me a favor.
07:04Tell him if he's not sinking when he's staying still, tell him not to move so he doesn't sink down
07:09any
07:10further.
07:10Okay, if you can help it.
07:12Yep, yep.
07:12Don't move around, buddy.
07:14We got help on the way.
07:17Man, do you have any medical conditions?
07:20Yeah, I do.
07:21How many days you been out here?
07:23What day did you come out here?
07:25I don't know.
07:26How many days you been out here?
07:27Six days with somebody else.
07:32Six days with somebody else?
07:35Yeah.
07:35Where are they at?
07:37I don't know.
07:38I only know it's the first day.
07:41John.
07:42He said he come out here with a guy named John and left.
07:45He got the John guy left.
07:47What day did John leave?
07:49Can I leave his voice?
07:50Do you know what today is?
07:53No.
07:54No, you don't know.
07:55Do you see any invisible injuries to his face or anything?
07:58No, he's covered in mud up to just under his shoulders and I can't.
08:03He's got some kind of a chair or something behind his table or something.
08:08All right.
08:09Laying in the mud like maybe they were using the crawl out there on or something.
08:12I don't know.
08:13Yeah, I can hear him there.
08:14Must be about to pull in the gate.
08:16I can hear sirens on.
08:17Officials from Putnam County Fire Rescue, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office,
08:21and other agencies join forces to begin the rescue operation.
08:25But even getting out to Andrew's location proves to be a challenge.
08:32I can't hear him.
08:34Oh.
08:38Oh.
08:46Better.
08:47Yeah.
08:47There's a low light.
08:48There's a low light for that.
08:53Hey.
08:54Yo, what you have to do is come over here. Hey, hey, good thing I'm bringing extra uniforms.
09:07Come on.
09:13Walk, walk, walk over there that way.
09:17What do you think?
09:18Which way he said to go?
09:19Probably where all the footprints are.
09:33I don't understand why people get stuck out here.
09:38It is all up my pants.
09:40The muddy ground leading to the pit is unstable, but what Andrew has found himself in takes things to a
09:46new level.
09:47Keep turning.
09:48Keep turning.
09:48Grab hold of that ladder.
09:49Don't put the rope on.
09:50Put the rope back on.
09:51Yep.
09:53Turn a little bit.
09:56Y'all seen this before?
09:57Yep.
09:58What did y'all do?
09:59See him?
09:59Was he in there?
10:00What were y'all doing?
10:01No, dude.
10:01He wouldn't even respond.
10:03I thought he was dead whenever I first seen him.
10:05I just looked for his tracks, man.
10:07We've been looking for him.
10:08Supposedly he's been out here for Saturday or something like that.
10:12Even with the manpower and equipment, getting Andrew out of the muck won't be easy.
10:16There's no way to really get a good grip down in there with him without you ending up with him.
10:20The difficulty leads to moments of frustration.
10:24If you shut up, I could talk to you.
10:27You tell him, Daniel.
10:30What's that?
10:31You tell him, Daniel.
10:32God damn, they shut the hell up on this radio.
10:33That's not...
10:34I'm busy.
10:35And of course, these frustrations extend to the environment as well.
10:48Can we get some help?
10:50Come on.
11:08And if being weighed down in this mud is a problem, the responders are about to realize
11:13why Andrew is stuck so firmly.
11:16He didn't just walk out there.
11:19He's apparently got a chain and a cement box.
11:23Or a cement box.
11:24Yeah.
11:25Wrapped around his ankle.
11:26Sir?
11:26What?
11:27Sir?
11:28Tim nose, brainy nose, buckle nose.
11:30He has a chain and a weight.
11:34Can you step further down that ladder?
11:35Okay.
11:36So we'll see.
11:38We should say pretty fast.
11:39Huh?
11:40Is he trying to sit still?
11:41Thanks, huh?
11:42No.
11:42All right.
11:46You want to hold on something?
11:47It's that chain.
11:49Come on.
11:52Yeah.
11:55If we can get to it, I don't make a rope.
11:58As the last light fades from the day, the deputies begin to consider the next move.
12:03So he's going to jail after this fight.
12:09You're sandwiching that bag.
12:10He's healed up.
12:11He's got back work right now.
12:14His phone is hat.
12:16These are pants.
12:17That's a syrup.
12:18It's a water bottle.
12:19Andrew's a hat.
12:20He's hanging with it in that bag.
12:21Oh, right.
12:22After more than two hours of effort, Andrew is finally pulled from the pit.
12:26The police report describes what first-hand photographs confirm, that Andrew is fully covered in mud and without any clothing.
12:34Fire rescue authorities note that he had a 100-pound kettlebell chained to his leg.
12:39Andrew's family told officials that he recently went through a breakup and had been depressed.
12:43Andrew himself tells first responders that he was chained and left here by a man named John he met online.
12:49But the reports make no mention of a follow-up investigation.
13:09According to a Facebook post from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Andrew was flown to a trauma center in critical
13:16condition.
13:16Due to his mental health, the post says, no charges are being considered at this time.
13:21We'll see you next time.
