00:10I spent $40 on that food.
00:13I just spit out the drink on the food, you know,
00:19so I need to cancel this rather by a service.
00:25Out, go away!
00:26Out, go away!
00:27Go away!
00:28Go out!
00:29Go forward!
00:30Go forward!
00:31You're not taking it back!
00:32Leave your f***ing butt!
00:34Get the f***ing out!
00:35Get your hat!
00:37Oh, you want to go?
00:38Hey, come on, buddy.
00:39He's like a pig pig.
00:41That cuck is a bad .
00:45You're a piece of .
00:46Hey, hey, hey.
00:48Shut your f***ing mouth!
00:49Get out of my face.
00:50I will f***ing murder you!
00:52If you do that one more time, I will f***ing end you!
00:55Customer complaints are at an all-time high.
00:59You f***ing size of 50.
01:01Putting workers on the defensive.
01:04Oh!
01:05And with labor shortages, supply chain woes, and a 40% rise in violent retail crime,
01:11it's an all-out battle at the checkout.
01:18The customer is always right.
01:20Holy cow.
01:21It's just plain wrong.
01:23I am a customer!
01:25Customer 2, Becky!
01:30Food delivery apps are expected to generate over $200 billion worldwide by the year 2030,
01:36according to one industry news source.
01:39But despite the format's massive and ever-growing popularity, one recent survey of on-demand delivery customers
01:46found 9 out of 10 respondents say they've experienced a food delivery gone awry.
01:51Thanks to occasional hitches in the process.
01:55Like missing items.
02:04Insufficient packaging.
02:09Or longer-than-expected waits.
02:15What's going on here?
02:17Your driver got arrested.
02:18And then there are issues that appear to defy simple explanation.
02:25Hi.
02:27In California.
02:28Hi.
02:29A woman approaches a food delivery driver after she claims she tracked him on the delivery
02:34app driving past her location with her order.
02:37Then parking in front of a business for over 20 minutes.
02:43So you're like sitting here eating my order.
02:46Yeah.
02:46I spent $40 on that food and your location and an update and we were confused so we came and
02:53you're sitting.
02:54I just called my tourist but I just speed up the drink on the food.
03:03You know, so I need to cancel this driver.
03:07According to the customer, she tried three times to reach the company she ordered from
03:12and the driver but got no answer.
03:15But you could like call us or text us and it was like 20 minutes of you just sitting in
03:20front of this location and we tried calling you.
03:23I know your phone rings and you get it.
03:24If you would have called us and said, hey, I spilled it, we would have said okay.
03:28Then on the way to intercept the driver, her order was apparently canceled.
03:33I just have to the service right now.
03:36So I didn't notice the call.
03:39The driver claims the reason he missed her call is because he was notifying the company
03:43of the spill.
03:44We spent a lot of money.
03:46We spent like $40, you know?
03:47Yeah, you can.
03:47Yeah.
03:48The guys are refund.
03:50No worries.
03:51You guys are refund.
03:52But it is a worry though.
03:53So the drink is spilled on your seat over there?
03:56Yes.
03:56I showed you a picture.
03:58The drink looks open like you're drinking some.
04:01There's plenty of drink left in there.
04:02Look.
04:03Just a break.
04:04Just break the call.
04:07Look.
04:08Break.
04:09Okay.
04:10Yeah, sorry about that.
04:11The customer apparently finds the driver's explanation less than satisfying.
04:15Okay.
04:16Because you look like you're enjoying it.
04:17Like it's really good.
04:18And I know a lot of people will get the food and then they just want to eat it.
04:22So they kind of like cancel the order, you know?
04:25But if you are tower, you know, very calming because sometimes food is spewed.
04:31Yeah, for sure.
04:31I understand a thousand percent.
04:33It's just hard to believe when you have like the sauce on your face and the cup is still
04:37like full right there.
04:39In the end, there's nothing much the customer can do except complain to the company.
04:43Yeah, it's canceled.
04:44So they canceled on me already.
04:46It canceled on me when we were already on our way over here.
04:49Okay.
04:49Yeah, unfortunately.
04:50Yeah, that's very unfortunate.
04:53And she has issued a refund by the food delivery service.
04:56Yeah.
04:56Look.
04:57Break.
04:58Okay.
04:59Yeah, I thought about that.
05:00While errors are inevitable, resolving them in a timely manner, especially for customers
05:06who are waiting for food, is the best way to prevent anyone...
05:10We spend a lot of money.
05:11We spend like $40, you know?
05:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:13From going hungry.
05:14It's just hard to believe when you have like the sauce on your face.
05:24Businesses that sell alcohol, whether to go, like in a store, or in-house, like at a bar
05:29or restaurant, walk a fine line balancing customer service with legal responsibility.
05:37Because in most states, it's against the law for an establishment to serve alcohol to any customer
05:42who appears obviously intoxicated.
05:47And while cutting these patrons off is usually enough to bring the matter to a close, there
05:53are times when an intoxicated customer's behavior requires reinforcements.
06:02And...
06:03Grab your stuff.
06:05Don't ever touch that.
06:06That's not yours?
06:07What do you have reasons?
06:09Grab your stuff.
06:09They want you to leave.
06:10Grab your stuff.
06:10First of all.
06:11In Florida...
06:12Call my lawyer.
06:13Police are called to a beachside establishment about an intoxicated man sitting at the bar.
06:18Okay, so what reason...
06:21Because you are...
06:22Sitting at a bar at a restaurant that you have the right to receive service.
06:27Do you want him to leave?
06:28Yes.
06:29You're so .
06:31Okay.
06:31All right.
06:32It's time to go.
06:33According to police reports, the customer was causing a disturbance in throwing items
06:37in the bar.
06:38And when management asked him to leave, he refused.
06:44You're young, and you have no idea what family you're .
06:49Ask me if I care.
06:52That's assault.
06:54No, that's assault.
06:56Let's go.
06:56No, that's not assault.
06:57That's assault.
06:58No, it's not assault.
06:59Why not?
07:00State of Florida, that's not assault.
07:02Outside, the two officers asked the customer to call a rideshare so he can get home safely.
07:07Okay.
07:08Go ahead and call your .
07:09Oh, so now it's okay for me just to off?
07:14Yeah, they won't refuse service to, man.
07:16They have a right to do that.
07:18They have a right to do that.
07:20Yeah, they have a right to be .
07:22As soon as my lawyer shows up.
07:25That's just...
07:26No idea who I am.
07:27Okay, well, I can tell you...
07:29Are you just back in town?
07:32I'm private chef.
07:33I am private chef.
07:36The man's name dropping fails to impress the officers.
07:39Call your .
07:40I have no idea who my family is.
07:42I don't care who your family is.
07:43That's your problem.
07:45You should.
07:46It doesn't bother me.
07:47I want to build this entire town.
07:49The family angle doesn't seem to work either.
07:52What's your plan?
07:54I'm going to stand here until my lawyer shows up.
07:58And then we're going to face this town.
08:01Because you cops are .
08:04Sorry, you feel that way.
08:05You're just close to you.
08:06The officers patiently brush aside the insults as they wait for him to call a ride.
08:10You're a little too intoxicated to leave here by yourself.
08:13So you're going to get a ride.
08:14And give the man multiple chances to help himself.
08:17So you have an coming.
08:19Yeah.
08:20Did I not say that?
08:21Well, that's why I'm trying to confirm it.
08:22I don't care about you.
08:24You're the piece of last time.
08:26This guy right here?
08:28You're nice, man.
08:29I'm going to ruin your life.
08:31Instead, he continues with his barrage of insults and apparent threats.
08:35I will absolutely ruin your life.
08:39No, he's just realized that I'm the .
08:43Me and the .
08:45We're going to kill you.
08:48Excuse me?
08:50That is assault.
08:51Metaphorically.
08:52Sorry.
08:53Get your on the way before you end up in cuffs tonight.
08:56I'll call.
08:57All right.
08:59Just because I'll find you.
09:05We'll figure this out.
09:07You know where I work.
09:08Though it takes some doing.
09:09Okay.
09:10Is your on the way?
09:11Yes.
09:12It is.
09:12And a lot more patience.
09:14I don't care.
09:15Here.
09:16Well, I don't want to pick it off.
09:17I don't know.
09:18Call out.
09:19Whatever.
09:20The female officer is eventually able to check the man's phone to confirm that a rideshare
09:25is indeed on its way.
09:26That cop is a bad cop.
09:29But that doesn't prevent him from continuing to make this bad situation worse.
09:33You're a piece of .
09:35Okay.
09:35Hey, hey, hey.
09:36Shut your mouth.
09:37All right.
09:38I will murder you.
09:45Me and the .
09:48We're going to kill you.
09:51Excuse me?
09:53That is assault.
09:54Metaphorically.
09:55Sorry.
09:56Metaphorically.
09:57In Florida, a pair of officers removing an intoxicated man from a bar.
10:02Get your on the way before you end up in the cops tonight.
10:06Are trying to ensure he gets home safely.
10:08You're a piece of .
10:10Hey, hey, hey.
10:11Shut your mouth.
10:12All right.
10:13I will murder you.
10:15But his continued insults escalate into threats.
10:18If you do that one more time, okay?
10:21I'm asking you very much.
10:22I will end you.
10:25You know me.
10:26One more time.
10:27You know me.
10:28I don't know you.
10:28One more time.
10:29You know me.
10:30Three minutes until your gets here.
10:32So please stop.
10:33He doesn't know me.
10:35You are garbage.
10:38Though the rideshare appears to be just minutes away, the officers finally decide that enough
10:43is enough.
10:44Put your hands behind your back.
10:46I will.
10:51Want to take him to my car?
10:53According to police reports, the man is arrested.
10:56No.
10:59I'm sorry.
10:59No.
11:00Don't be sorry.
11:02I think she digged his own branch.
11:05He is charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing in an occupied structure.
11:10This is absolute insanity and you know it.
11:14I'm sorry you feel that way, Mr. .
11:16He pleads guilty to both counts and is given six months probation.
11:22You know.
11:24I'm not a bad guy.
11:26Hopefully, this customer learned a lesson about overindulgence.
11:31Why?
11:32Everything.
11:34Why?
11:36You gave me so many times to up.
11:41And I gave you so many times to up.
11:45And eventually understands that without the extreme patience exhibited by both officers.
11:51I will murder you.
11:53Things could have been much, much worse.
11:55I love you over the heart of you.
11:59You're the best cop ever.
12:02I'm laying down.
12:03Okay, lay down.
12:12The United States is not the only country that has seen a surge in retail crime in the past five
12:18years.
12:22According to one survey from a UK retail trade association, there are tens of thousands of incidents every day.
12:30I'm sorry.
12:47And while it's generally advised not to get physical with would-be thieves.
12:53sometimes one's emotions overtake common sense
13:01in england a supermarket employee accuses a woman of shoplifting at a grocery store
13:09and after a brief struggle
13:20the employee suddenly strikes in her direction with a whip like object possibly the handles
13:25ripped from her back and unfortunately that's just the beginning

14:12store
14:25yeah who the hell do you think you are getting a customer in the shop
14:43seemingly without proof of missing merchandise the man claims the woman has stolen from the
14:47store before
14:52another customer in a black shirt appears to offer the woman some advice
15:03but she opts to call the police instead
15:13so even as she makes her case over the phone the store employee offers his own
15:39the woman leaves the scene in a short while later police officers arrive and appear to speak
15:46with the employee involved in the conflict
15:50according to a police spokesperson nothing is officially reported stolen
15:54you put too many sauce in your bag and no arrests have been made
16:04it's unknown if there were any repercussions for the employee
16:07where in the hell do you think you are getting a customer in the shop
16:12but this shocking incident is a reminder that no suspicion of stolen goods
16:17or even proof thereof could ever justify violence like this
16:22and here
16:30most airline travelers rely heavily on devices like tablets phones and computers to get them through journeys
16:37but the lithium ion batteries powering these devices have been known to catch fire when overheated
16:44in fact according to the FAA there has been a 388 surge in lithium battery fires on aircraft since 2015
16:54and while most airlines now ban them in checked luggage
16:57they do allow passengers to carry them on board
17:01where any malfunction may be quickly detected
17:04but sometimes
17:06that's not fast enough
17:08as passengers experienced on this flight in California
17:12move that way

19:18the bag with the laptop is quickly removed by crew members according to a statement released
19:23by the airline all passengers make it off the plane however three people suffer minor injuries
19:32during the evacuation according to the fire department and while luckily the situation
19:40didn't turn to total catastrophe remember in an emergency like this anything other than following
19:49the cruise orders to the letter is simply not acceptable for some that work in retail customers
20:04can become like family as this young boy did with this employee after he attended a kids workshop at
20:18this local home improvement store and for others the customer literally is family
20:29at a superstore in North Carolina
