00:00The board of the Femme du Chalet, better known as the Breakfast Shed, wrote to the Urban Development Corporation upon
00:05assuming office, but received no response.
00:09So says its president, Robert Lee Hunt, who indicates that there was no other option than pursuing the matter at
00:15the level of the court.
00:16Today at 3 p.m., legal representatives for both sides met as the Breakfast Shed filed for an injunction to
00:23stop the eviction of tenants, which carried a deadline of April 30th.
00:28The case was heard before Justice Christopher Siochand.
00:32And after submission that was made, I think the judge, in his wisdom, decided that they would grant the Femme
00:43du Chalet, the Breakfast Shed, a restraining order, preventing Utica from exercising their termination request on the 30th of April.
00:57Right.
00:57The matter is going to be set down for hearing.
01:01Again, I think the date for further hearing is the 12th of May.
01:05But something else occurred, which Lee Hunt hopes will aid the Breakfast Shed in getting the meeting that was requested
01:11several times, but never materialized.
01:14What was interesting in that presentation made by the court while I was sitting in the court, what I gained
01:20from him is that he spoke about the whole idea of natural justice and the need for consultation.
01:37The board, which is pleased with the granting of the injunction, is still hoping for an out of court settlement
01:43on the way forward.
01:44Lee Hunt tells us that the Regulated Industries Commission's report on the claim of the overpayment in electricity to the
01:51tune of over $2 million is still pending.
01:54That I will be reaching out to the RIC this week formally to find out what is the status of
02:00that.
02:01But that particular matter continues to raise up, to be outstanding.
02:05But that matter of the electricity claim is also part of our overall claim in our affidavits put forward.
02:13And now this matter is now before the courts.
