00:00Tyler Hero is getting a procedure.
00:02We had Anthony Chang on, and he says he's getting a procedure on his foot.
00:06Greg Sylvander from Five Reasons Sports says today that it appears Tyler Hero
00:12and the Miami Heat are headed towards a divorce.
00:16He says, asking around, I get the strong sense that Tyler Hero
00:19and the Miami Heat are headed for a divorce this summer, one way or another.
00:25I agree.
00:26I think the frustrating thing, like, and I understand both sides of it.
00:36Tyler would say, I've had some freak stuff happen to me, some weird stuff,
00:44but when I play, I ball out.
00:46Pat's looking at it like, who cares if you only play 30 games?
00:51It ain't helping us, right?
00:53And that's the dilemma.
00:55Now, the problem is, is that Tyler's had this since the beginning of his career,
01:02where, like, soon as you almost depend on and count on his 20, 20-plus points,
01:08he gets an injury and he's out for a substantial amount of time.
01:12It's happened almost every year.
01:15Right.
01:16And so, I don't blame either side for being frustrated, but I think Tyler needs to understand
01:24that if he were Pat, he'd be frustrated with him.
01:27For sure.
01:28For whatever reason.
01:29Well, I'm sure he's got to be frustrated.
01:30Look, you're going to be frustrated.
01:31Because no one's going to give, no one, even if Tyler Hero gets traded to wherever.
01:37Nobody's going to sign him to the contract he wants.
01:39No.
01:40No way.
01:40He's going to need to be able to prove that he can stay on the court.
01:46He has to.
01:47Right.
01:47And I think Anthony's right.
01:50I think the way I read it is, because Pat basically put it out there about the flexibility
01:57they want, they're not going long-term on anybody.
02:00I think for Norman Powell, if he sticks around, he'll probably get...
02:05Two-year deal?
02:05Not even.
02:06Not even?
02:07I bet you they give him a fat one-year deal.
02:09Something like $30 million for the season, and obviously Tyler would be traded by then,
02:16I'd imagine, in some piece for somebody.
02:19Even if they go and re-service and revisit the Durant thing.
02:21If Durant really is miserable, and they kick the tires on doing a Durant year just for fun things.
02:26He's going to be miserable everywhere.
02:27He really is miserable everywhere.
02:30Here's the thing.
02:32I can deal with a player being miserable if he puts up numbers.
02:37He's going to always put up numbers.
02:39He ain't going to never not play basketball.
02:42I don't care about his emotions.
02:44He's like, I'm not hiring you as a personality.
02:48I'm hiring you as a basketball player, and that portion of it, he handles excellently.
02:54The one thing is, if he comes here, if they do a Durant bridge year,
03:00because I think if you're the Heat, you think to yourself,
03:02someone will always want to trade for Kevin Durant, you know?
03:05And so, like, you kick the tires on it.
03:07You do Durant.
03:10You know, you don't have to give the house up, obviously, like you would for Giannis.
03:16Because I got to, I just, I don't know.
03:17Like, I'm with you.
03:18I think that the Giannis thing, like, they'll kick the tires on it.
03:20But I think, I think they're back at the spot where the most they were going to give to the
03:25Bucs
03:25is what they would have given at the deadline.
03:27I don't think the Miami Heat.
03:28It's not getting better.
03:29Yeah, I don't think the deal's getting better.
03:30I don't think the deal's getting better for Giannis.
03:32I just don't.
03:33I just, I got to feel, like, if Giannis forces the issue and is like, that's the place I want
03:38to go.
03:38And look, I don't, I'll sit here and for everybody, because I got this with the Jokic thing yesterday.
03:43Well, why would Joker want to come here?
03:44I don't know.
03:46I'm like, I'm not, I'm just telling you from my perspective what I think the organization is gunning for.
03:50I don't know that Joker wants to come here.
03:52I'm just telling you what they did with Jovic and the presser I thought was weird.
03:57It was, oh, it was super positive for no reason.
04:01And I just think that's what they're lining up for.
04:04Do I think the Heat are in a very attractive destination other than this being an amazing place to live?
04:09No, of course not.
04:10They were the 10th team in the East.
04:11They were the worst team amongst the teams trying.
04:14Like, I get everybody's skepticism.
04:16Don't get me wrong.
04:17They have earned that.
04:19The organization has put themselves in a place.
04:21This is probably as least attractive it's been.
04:26But here's the thing.
04:28That's what it was when they traded for Jimmy, too.
04:30They were middling.
04:31All they had was the D-Wade retirement tour.
04:33They weren't in the playoffs.
04:35And Jimmy came here with Bam, who had not started yet.
04:40That his starting point guard that year was Kendrick Nunn.
04:44Duncan Robinson wasn't Duncan Robinson yet.
04:46And Myers Leonard.
04:47Like, the point is always usually just get the guy.
04:51I don't know how they're going to get the guy.
04:53I know they're not in the most attractive places, whether it's going to New York or something like that.
04:59But I don't think anybody's going to – the other thing is you look at those places, and I think
05:05if you worst, I'd be like, fresh start, great place, I'm the man.
05:09I don't think it's unattractive from those perspectives either.
05:13So – but I just don't see Miami in this spot with Giannis that they're going to go all in.
05:19I think what they want to do is I think they'll shake it up with one of the guards is
05:24going to leave and then either try and get Giannis for a more reasonable deal.
05:31They probably still have to give up Kalelware, which I would hope they wouldn't have to, but I'll be real
05:37about it.
05:37I'm trying to be reasonable about this.
05:39If they don't, then, yeah, I could see them going back to the Durant well or seeing where Spida's heart's
05:44at, and those will be the things that they tick off.
05:47If they can't, then I guess the hope is you bring Norm back, you bring Wiggins back, you let the
05:53young guys play a little bit more.
05:54Maybe Kasper Shaka Chonis is your starting point guard instead, and you're super young, and then you'll see where the
05:59chips fall in the middle of the season.
06:01But I don't think they're going to do a – you know, like I'm seeing these trades out there.
06:05Like ESPN's like two unprotected picks and Kalelware and Tyler Hero for Kawhi.
06:13And I'm like, are you high as a kite or high as a kite?
06:18Two unprotected picks for Kawhi Leonard when they already owe a pick to the Charlotte Hornets?
06:26What are we talking about, dude?
06:28For a guy you don't – for Kawhi Leonard, the most – maybe one of the most talented players in
06:34the league,
06:34but one of the biggest gambles in the league too?
06:36No way, dude.
06:37I just can't see them doing that.
06:40Agreed.
06:41Like I don't – I just think that sometimes as fans we get into the mode of we want something.
06:50We want change.
06:52We want this.
06:53We want that.
06:55And I think that you still have to be smart about it,
07:00and you can't make change for the sake of change.
07:04Because all change doesn't make you better.
07:06And I think that's the – that is the difficult part of what's happening.
07:13Because you can say Tyler is probably not going to be here,
07:18and I can understand why they would move on from Tyler.
07:22I fully understand that.
07:24However, you're still losing 20 points a game.
07:28And the guys that you have that you would pair with Norm as a starter aren't proven to be those
07:37type of scorers.
07:37So, like, what are you going to do or who's going to be the other guy?
07:46Who's going to be a scorer?
07:48Who's going to be the people you can depend on to get points?
07:52And that probably plays into that because the other two guys are true point guards.
07:59So, do you take Norm?
08:01You move him to the two?
08:04Maybe he doesn't have as much pressure with the ball in his hands,
08:06and he can stay healthier longer?
08:08I don't know.
08:09I think that they've got to have next year, because of how he played,
08:13I think you've got to give Kasper Yacachonas run this year if he's going to be back with the team.
08:17So, he's either going to run the second unit or he's going to be your starter at a camp.
08:21Because that kid shot the lights out.
08:23I have no idea if he can get downhill or run the offense yet,
08:26because he was mostly off ball this year.
08:28And that was the thing that was strange.
08:30And props to him, by the way, for the chances he got to be with the Miami Heat.
08:36He did it in a role that's not his role.
08:38Like, he did that, like, always ball in his hands, being able to create for guys.
08:42And he shot the lights out when he got the opportunity.
08:45Not his thing.
08:47So, yeah, I would like to see that.
08:49And I think with Norm, it would be an interesting pairing.
08:52And they say, like, you know, Yacachonas is a very, very competitive defender.
08:56There were times I saw that he got bullied, but he's a child.
08:58He's 19.
08:59Has he turned 20 yet?
09:02Who, Yacachonas?
09:03Yeah, I don't think he has.
09:04I think he turns 20 next month.
09:06Right.
09:07He's a baby.
09:09So, we'll see.
09:11We'll see with that.
09:12But, I don't know.
09:15Them handed towards a divorce.
09:16Yeah, it feels that way.
09:17Like, I think that it was inevitable it was going to get this way if they didn't have a successful
09:23year from a team standpoint.
09:25That they were going to probably, especially if Tyler was banged up like he was this year.
09:29Like, how many more times can you go to that well?
09:31I know he's undefeated against the trade rumors.
09:33He's Floyd Mayweather when it comes to the summer.
09:36But, this may be the one.
09:37This may be the one that gets him.
09:40Let's see.
