00:00Here, let's flip it over to the NHL Tonight Show.
00:02We got a triple header, 7 o'clock, 7.30, and 10 o'clock.
00:05Montreal and Tampa Bay game number one, but the focus,
00:08the Pittsburgh Penguins, two straight victories
00:11to force a game six tonight in Philadelphia.
00:13Now, the Flyers are the favorite here, opened up around a minus 125 price.
00:17Most outlets have them between minus 122 to minus 120,
00:20depending where you're shopping at, and the total listed at five and a half.
00:23You don't want this thing to go seven, all the pressure on Philadelphia,
00:26but they are home tonight.
00:28The younger legs, can they carry through, Joe?
00:31What are we looking at tonight between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia
00:33on the ice as a spread line?
00:35Well, let me ask you this, Donnie,
00:37because I've talked to a lot of folks over the last 24 hours,
00:40and they all say the same thing.
00:43Your Flyers are in trouble.
00:45No, they ain't.
00:46So, I'm just saying, a lot of people in the Flicks,
00:50where you just mentioned, Donnie, all the pressure's on one side.
00:53It ain't on Pittsburgh's side.
00:55We'll see if it matters here.
00:57Will there be a game seven?
00:58Part of me hopes there is, Donnie.
01:00Sorry, but part of me hopes there is.
01:01So, it's been a fantastic week, and also a fantastic round number one in the NHL playoffs.
01:06Three more games on the docket tonight.
01:08It's been a lot of fun.
01:09Now, Cam, we'll take a look at those Buffalo Sabres.
01:11The crowds have been impressive here.
01:13The Bruins showing a lot of might, forcing this series an extra game longer.
01:17Do we think we're getting a game number seven, or what did you see last night from the Bruins
01:22and Sabres that allows you to propel forward?
01:24I was telling Mr. New York, Tommy, who is a Sabres fan and really a Rochester Americans
01:28fan, Boston, without Jeremy Swayman, would have been swept in this series, if not for
01:33a crazy goal by Morgan Geeky from Center Ice that bounces a weird way, which actually got
01:37Lucan in out of the net and Lion into the net for the Sabres.
01:40The Buffalo Sabres are faster.
01:42They're better.
01:43Lion's been good.
01:44But you know what?
01:45It's just one of those situations where Buffalo, you guys got to score some greasy
01:48goals.
01:48This is the playoffs we talk about.
01:49They've been madness.
01:50Goals from behind the net.
01:51Goals like just flick the puck up in the air from center.
01:54Anything happen.
01:55If Swayman sees it, you know, he's going to save it.
01:57So I'm going to tell you, guys, I've already loaded up.
01:59I love the Buffalo Sabres on the road without the pressure in their building to go in there
02:05and punch Boston in the face and end this series in six.
02:07They've been the better team.
02:08They've been the much better team, in my opinion, if not for Swayman.
02:11If Swayman doesn't stand on his head, they're done.
02:13But Donnie, I got a message for you.
02:15Watch out, pal.
02:16We talked about it with Big Dan Cilio on Sunday.
02:19I said, if the Penguins get two, this thing might go to seven.
02:22They need to put their foot on their throat.
02:24And Donnie's Flyers, they've been lingering.
02:26Dan Vlidar has been okay, guys.
02:28But I'll tell you something, this Philadelphia Flyer team, they're going to be a little bit
02:32nervous.
02:32Pittsburgh's breathing right down their neck.
02:34That's a series that I think can go seven, Donnie.
02:36You better hope the Flyers find a way.
02:38They got to score some goals.
02:39Because, hey, Pittsburgh, you give them life, we know what happens in hockey.
02:43Watch out.
02:43Certainly check those out.
02:45Game of the night tonight, Joe, in Philadelphia.
02:48The Battle of the Keystone State.
02:50Game number six.
02:50Didn't think we'd get here.
02:51Maybe the Flyers caught they could close out in game four.
02:54Game five.
02:54Couldn't do it.
02:55Now they'll try again tonight.
02:56Game number six, 7.30 p.m. Eastern.
02:58If we're looking at the marketplace right now, Calci, the Flyers are the slight favorite.
03:02Had 52% chance to win this game.
03:05The Penguins at 48%.
03:06Now, Joe, I know you're lying to the public out here telling me that the Flyers could be
03:10in trouble tonight.
03:11I know you don't believe that.
03:13Well, the Flyers could very well be in trouble here tonight.
03:17Experience.
03:18Does it matter?
03:19Well, we're going to find out here tonight in this one as Pittsburgh has finally rallied
03:24around and put it together.
03:26You know, Donnie, in these games and these elimination games, I always like to lean towards the over
03:31in goals, right?
03:33Because let's face it, if whoever is down, especially Pittsburgh, yeah, they're pulling
03:39the goalie with five.
03:40So we could have a whole lot of extra goals here when it's all said and done.
03:44I like the over here tonight in this spot.
03:47And hopefully for your Flyers, they're the ones doing most of the scoring.
03:52If we're taking a look to Joe here, the point total in this game, as it's listed on Calci,
03:55over five and a half goals is trading currently at 53% as a chance to get that done.
04:00The contract's at 54 cents.
04:02So if you feel six goals or more tonight, as Joe pointed out, $100 investment does pay
04:06back 186.
04:07And also, you can extend that.
04:09And Joe is right.
04:10What's the point if you're down six to three, your puller goal, and they make it seven to
04:13three?
04:13I don't know.
04:14Just keep the goalie out there again so you can try to come back.
04:17And if you give up another goal, it doesn't matter, which means over six and a half goals
04:21tonight, Joe.
04:22That's a 42 cent contract here.
04:23A $100 investment pays back 239.
04:26You're down 3-1, Joe, late.
04:27Hey, easily got that under.
04:29Wait, how did this game end up a lot closer and a lot more goals?
04:32Because as Joe said, you might pull the goalie with five minutes to go in this game.
04:36Yeah, exactly correct, Adi.
04:38And that's going to happen in a lot of these elimination games.
04:41So I would lean towards the overs and more of them.
04:44Haven't had any overtime action just yet.
04:47Could it be in game number six?
04:48If you bet it to the no, Joe, it's actually 84 cents.
04:51A $100 bet or $100 investment would pay back $120 if the game doesn't go to OT.
04:57More hot topics on the way next on PME.
05:00NHL round one going strong right now, Joe.
05:02Let's take a look at some of these markets that you can invest in, which means not just
05:05the winner of the game, Joe, but the winner of the series itself.
05:09Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, fantastic series, currently tied 2-2.
05:14But on the trading markets here on Calci, the Tampa Bay Lightning to win this series, Joe,
05:18currently trading at 62% here.
05:2163 cents is the contract, which means $100 investment if you feel the Lightning can win
05:26the series.
05:26Pays back 159.
05:28Those Canadians at 38 cents here.
05:30Why?
05:30Home ice advantage does matter.
05:32The favorites are the Tampa Bay Lightning here, but a fantastic series so far.
05:37Game five, pivotal.
05:38We know that here.
05:39But how are we looking, Joe?
05:40Is it the Canadians?
05:41Can they come back as the dog here, or is it the Lightning, given that the series is
05:44tied?
05:45They should be good to go, because the game's mostly in their building.
05:49Well, this has been the tightest series of them all in the first round here.
05:55I mean, you know, we've had eight matchups here, and this has been by far the most entertaining
06:01and the craziest with all these overtime spots that we have had.
06:05And mathematically, when you look at the stats, Donnie, these two teams finished with 106
06:11points on the season, and they are almost identical across the board.
06:16Shots on goal, saves, power play.
06:18I mean, go across, and you're going to be hard-pressed to find anything separating these
06:24two teams.
06:25The only thing that separates them is experience.
06:28And obviously, Tampa, having been here and done this before, on their own home ice with
06:35Vasileski and goal, and I get why the market is favoring Tampa.
06:39But call me crazy here, Donnie.
06:42If Montreal actually, and they've done a great job all series of matching them, can actually
06:48pull off the upset here tonight, there is, that series market is looking better and better
06:55at that price point with the Montreal Canadiens right now.
06:59I can tell you that.
07:00Keep it on couch here.
07:01Series winner for this is the Minnesota Wild versus the Dallas Stars.
07:05Did you know Minnesota leads this series, Joe, 3-2, and are the heavy favorites to close
07:10out those Dallas Stars.
07:12They're currently trading at 73% as a chance to do that.
07:15The Dallas Stars, if you feel they can mount a comeback, which means winning games six and
07:20seven, that's only at 27% right now.
07:23The Dallas Stars underperforming in the playoffs.
07:25Where have we said that before?
07:27The Wild, Joe.
07:28Are they going to win this?
07:29Or is there any value in taking a yes contract out on those stars?
07:33Well, you know, listen, Minnesota has been the better team in this series for longer stretches.
07:41You know, in Dallas, once again, you know, goes home and can't get it done on their own
07:47home ice.
07:48But that's par for the course.
07:50And we said it.
07:51I mean, don't forget, this game here has been back and forth.
07:54We've had just when Dallas couldn't look any worse.
07:57All of a sudden, they come back, Donnie, and they look like world beaters.
08:01It is that close, this series.
08:03And it feels like it had seven games written all over it.
08:06So as far as I'm concerned, Dallas having that seventh game back home, they have been
08:11there.
08:12They have done this.
08:13Ottinger has been there and done this.
08:15It feels like they'll get the win on the road and they'll be right back with a chance to
08:19close it out.
08:19So I like Dallas's chances still to win this series.
08:24Boston got smoked in game number four, returned the favor in game number five with an overtime
08:29victory to stave off elimination to force a game number six back in Boston.
08:33But now we take a look at the series winner here.
08:35It's still going to be a heavy favorite here towards the Buffalo Sabres.
08:38Currently trading, Joe, at 79 cents as a chance for them to get the job done.
08:43Boston at 21%.
08:44Do we think that Boston can return home and force a game number seven?
08:48As Cam Stewart came on early, like he already betted Sabres to win game number six.
08:52He's not worried, Joe.
08:54Are you?
08:54Is it just the Sabres moving on or maybe a chance to bet the, or excuse me, invest in
08:58those Boston Bruins?
09:00Well, you know, if the Sabres are going to win it, they better be really, they got to
09:05somehow figure out how to score in a power play, Donnie.
09:08I think the Sabres have gone over 17 with a man advantage, uh, this series.
09:13And I mean, they even came into the playoffs without being able to convert on 22 straight
09:19chances with a man advantage here.
09:22So this is, they're going to have to do it with five on five, which you and I both know
09:26is a lot more difficult here.
09:29And it's not going to take a lot for the Bruins, you know, maybe to steal one at home and
09:33get
09:33it back to a game seven.
09:35I think you're going to see a huge effort from Buffalo here, but hard to trust them
09:40when they can't score with a man advantage.
09:43And we just saw the old man Pasternak get it done for Boston experience matters, Donnie.
09:49One of the worst power plays in hockey.
09:51That's my Philadelphia Flyers, which you got to take advantage of the extra man in the playoffs.
09:56It's how you win games with special teams here.
09:58Flyers and the Penguins series winner after the game that just got played there in, in
10:02Pittsburgh, you had a 75% chance for the Philadelphia Flyers to still win this series.
10:07Looking at the trading market on Cal State today, it's actually down 2%, Joe, to 73%.
10:12But the Flyers still have the favorite.
10:14Why?
10:14Game number six in their own building.
10:16If they don't win that game, then it does go back to Pittsburgh where the Flyers have
10:19already won two games.
10:19But the Flyers don't want this going back to Pittsburgh here because then you turn the
10:23favorite side into the Pittsburgh Penguins.
10:26We talked about a series in the NBA, Joe, with the Nuggets.
10:28That's like, hey, you know what?
10:29But there's some injuries out here and a chance for them to come back.
10:32They're actually the favorites now in that series to win it over Minnesota.
10:35Do you view it the same of the Penguins here?
10:37Is 27% enough to say, I think they can win tonight and then I have a guaranteed profit in
10:42my pocket if we just make it to game number seven?
10:46Yeah.
10:47Well, that's what you need to do, right?
10:49You got to get into a game seven, which means you got to win tonight.
10:51And it is a coin flip here tonight.
10:54So any value that you might have on Pittsburgh, if it's better than even money on the money
11:01line, Donnie, it's worth it because you don't need them to win the series.
11:03They're going to be the favorites heading back home in a game seven, right?
11:07So you don't necessarily need them to win the series.
11:11You just need the market to reprice them like they will if they can win here tonight.
11:16I think that's a pretty good way to go here in this spot.
11:20Out West, Anaheim Ducks and the Edmonton Oilers here.
11:22That series currently three to two with Anaheim in the lead.
11:25And now you see, okay, Edmonton Oilers, Dave, off elimination, but also still a heavy favorite
11:30in the series are the Ducks at 68%.
11:33Edmonton currently trading at 32%.
11:35I can never give up on the Edmonton Oilers, but now going back there, I think the end is
11:41in game number six and then back to seven here for the Oilers.
11:44What gives in this series, Joe?
11:45Is it enough to take Edmonton or just looking to close it out with Anaheim?
11:49Uh, again, experience.
11:52I expect a lot of these games, Donnie, to go to seven, uh, even with teams down, you
11:57saw what they were made of last night, uh, Edmonton to, uh, stave off elimination and get
12:03it back.
12:04I still think that's a ridiculously cheap price for a team that has Connor McDavid and
12:09Leon Drysad allotted.
12:10Sorry.
12:11Uh, I'll still take Edmonton here thinking this thing gets back to seven Thursday night,
12:1610 o'clock ducks home ice advantage.
12:18We'll see if they can close out that series here.
12:20How about this next one, Joe?
12:21Canadian team to win the Stanley cup before 2031.
12:24Not a lot of Canadian teams, a lot of American teams.
12:27I don't think they do win a Stanley cup before 2031.
12:30Joe, what do you think in there?
12:31Taking the no.
12:32No, no.
12:34Yeah.
12:34It's not going to happen because if Edmonton couldn't do it, nobody else is doing it here,
12:39Donnie.
12:39Not these teams.
12:41By the way, taking it here at.
