00:00Gerard Adrian van Honegen, better known as Hadrian Heineken, was a Dutch brewer who founded the
00:05Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1864. He experimented for five years with
00:11different recipes and brewing methods before he finally produced his world-famous pale lager.
00:17Heineken officially opened its brewery doors to the public in 1873. By the turn of the century,
00:23it had become the largest brewery in the country. In 1914, Heineken became the official beer supplier
00:28to the Dutch East Indies, laying the foundation for its future international expansion. After World
00:34War II, Heineken's popularity soared and it expanded outside Europe for the first time,
00:39setting up breweries in Nigeria, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. During the 1960s and 70s,
00:46Heineken continued to grow rapidly, becoming one of the largest brewers in the world. The company
00:52went public in 1989, marking a new era of growth and development. Since then, it has continued
00:58to expand its global footprint, acquiring breweries and forming partnerships all over the world.
