00:00Carlos Mendoza took the fall today for all of the Mets' problems.
00:05This is not Carlos Mendoza's fault.
00:07It is very unfortunate.
00:09This is the way baseball is.
00:11It does feel like he's been on the hot seat for weeks.
00:15And ultimately, the undoing came after a very difficult Cubs series in which the Mets just looked terrible.
00:22They were sloppy.
00:23They made six errors, losing two games two nights ago.
00:27Then they made another error, key error, yesterday in a 4-3 defeat to the Cubs.
00:32Got swept by the Cubs 0-7 against the Cubs.
00:35They're on a pace to lose 94 games.
00:37But I don't believe this is Carlos Mendoza's fault.
00:40I don't think many people do.
00:42Obviously, David Stearns made a number of mistakes through the winter.
00:46I think changing the coaching staff wasn't the right thing to do.
00:50I think bringing in all these unreliable players who are injury-prone certainly did not help matters.
00:56The fans were chanting Pete Alonzo a couple nights ago.
00:59Can't blame them.
01:01They're just not a reliable team.
01:03They have too many unreliable players.
01:06This is the way baseball works.
01:08Unfortunately for Carlos Mendoza, they did not look good the last couple nights.
01:12The six-error game.
01:14Another sloppy game.
01:15Defeat to the Cubs.
01:16Got swept by the Cubs.
01:1794-loss pace.
01:19And this is how baseball goes.
01:21Andy Green is in as the interim manager.
01:24He is close with Stearns.
01:27We shall see if he ends up keeping the job.
01:29Former Padre manager who is running the Mets minor leagues, which really they're not doing great either, to be honest.
01:34We shall see.
01:35But Carlos Mendoza is out as Mets manager.
