As the captains for the Powergen SSCL Girls open and boys T20 Intercol finals, had their say ahead of Friday's finals at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Holy Name POS and St Augustine Girls High School, are both hoping for their first victory.

00:05year's PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League's Girls Open and Boys T20 Intercal Finals came face to face.
00:11But these events would not happen without sponsors and PowerGen is a proud partner.
00:16This year marks our 28th year of sponsorship. So 28 not out. A significant milestone.
00:24They reflect our enduring commitment to youth development through sport.
00:30For nearly three decades we have supported initiatives that foster youth development, discipline and teamwork.
00:37Values that extend far beyond the boundary.
00:41Our involvement in sport is part of a broader commitment to national development and community engagement.
00:48The girls open final with St. Augustine Girls High School there for the first time.
00:52But they were not shy about their intentions.
00:56I'm sure many of you may expect some banter at this point.
00:59But the side strikers don't posture. We perform on the field.
01:02Just ask the eight teams we comprehensively defeated to get here.
01:06In this, our maiden final, we are here to play and strike hard in the best spirit of the game.
01:12And ultimately fulfill our dream of becoming the girls open champions in 2026.
01:16And their opponent, who will be named Convent Port of Spain, while having more experience in the finals, just wants
01:22to go all the way.
01:24We have been crowned North Zone champions many times and are proudly known as the Queens of the North.
01:32However, we have had some setbacks as we have reached three national finals and yet to lift the trophy.
01:39But who knows, maybe four times the charm.
01:43After dethroning Prez Chiguanas as league champions this season, the Prez Sandoz Kippa kept the focus on his team.
01:49What makes this team special is the brotherhood we share at Prez.
01:53We play not just as teammates, but as a unit bound by trust, pride and a deep respect for one

02:02That bond is our strength and it is what we will carry with us into the final.
02:07While the Prez Chiguanas skipper made it clear, they intend to defend their integral crown.
02:12We know you will bring energy, skill and challenge and that is exactly what finals demand.
